thx. nice video & perfect pace. lots of other tutorials always seem to treat people like they're complete morons. also appreciated leaving in the "error" on creating the inset in the lid, since problem-solving is something you have to deal with IRL tinkering too :)
I realize your comment is a year old, but if you haven't seen it before, a cool feature of youtube is to adjust the speed of the video. (It's found in the little gear icon.) I often watch videos on 1.5 speed or 1.25 for faster speaking people! If I'm watching a crochet video and learning a complicated stitch, I will often slow it down so I can really see. But I watched this video on 1.5 speed and followed along just fine.
For the recessed lip in the top part of the chest, starting around 9:47 just drop the cut out of the red cube and then resize the cube for the desired tolerance. If you had done that you would have saved about 4 to 5 minutes of video time that you spent fiddling with it. Actually started watching this to see how you did the hinges and apparently I needed to just watch part 2 of this series.
I am trying this video with a grade 8 class with the part two for more able students. I am quite new to 3d printing, how would you 3d print this? insitu or in two parts? do you need to add any supports? We are using Cura 4.7 with a witbox 2 printer. Many thanks, Heike
Great video and also a pleasing voice to listen to ;)
