Hi again ! You are accompanying in my tubular cast off of my cardigan made with your charcoal yarn … it is so long that cast off but I have a nice podcast to listen to … hope I finish it soon … lol
Lovely episode and the yarn segment was very interesting. I'd love to hear you talk about Plotulopi and maybe Istex in general if you've used their other yarns (Lettlopi, Einband etc). Icelandic yarn always fascinates me because it looks so rough but it's also so popular with knitters (at least some knitters!). It would also be interesting to know the reasoning/design process of why you would use an unspun like Plotulopi for the pattern designs you've used them in? Thank you and always look forward to your episodes 🙂
Enjoyed this podcast. Thank you for sharing about your design process as well as WoolDreamers. I just finished a cowl in their Mota and I love it. I was to try more of their yarn.
Hi Lærke!! Enjoyed my time with you this morning. Thanks for the conversation about how you choose the appropriate cast on and bind off for your designs. Your explanations were great and very helpful! I often sub a 3 needle bind off when a pattern recommends grafting the shoulders. I don’t mind the bind off seam and I find it gives a bit more support. My favorite bind off for stockinette or garter on a shawl is Elizabeth Zimmerman’s sewn bind off.
Hello, thank you for this nice podcast. I love Wooldreamers too, and I've knitted a sweater with Tierra, the same as yours. I had the same issue, I lacked one skein, I had to finish one sleeve and the collar. For the collar it's ok, but you can see it on the sleeve... I used many times Manchelopi, not so easy to knit with, but I like it. Have a nice end of week-end 🧡
You have such a nice voice, and a calm over you that I love. I'm knitting on a shawl that I am designing (just for me, for fun) whilst watching this episode. Watching you always takes me back to my childhood too! We used to go on holiday (from Belgium,) to Føns, in Funen. :-) I have the best memories of that place.
I discovered the joy of Wool Dreamers last year and have fallen in love with it as well! One of my local yarn stores has a sample of your Gro Hat knit up in Wool Dreamers Mota, and the stitch definition is beautiful. Perhaps I need a Gro Shawl next...
That dark Spanish merino looks gorgeous! I enjoyed the Humlebi despite my misgivings about the whole bottom up thing. I did have to make a bunch of extra repeats to make it work for my size (I'm not incredibly big around, but boy howdy am I tall and long limbed. As written it would have been seriously short), so I'm looking forward to the release of this one. If you ever need a test knitter that is a different length than normal, let me know. Happy to keep track of how much yarn is used per inch to lengthen things in the body and arms. :D
I was just watching a couple of your older podcasts the past couple of days with all the baby knits! I have baby #4 coming in a couple weeks and wanted some more inspiration on what to knit :). The new patterns look great! Oh you should definitely do a little garden tour when the weather gets a little milder! Spring is just around the corner (at least here in Canada). Take care :)
Lærke, It looks like the Wooldreamer's color cards you received are for their Mota (DK) and/or Cautiva (fingering/sport) yarns. Like you, my favorite yarns are dyed on their darker bases. Besitos desde La Mancha, @lamanchaknitter
I would also love to hear about working with spun Lopi yarns. I love the colors and made an entire pullover that I have struggled to wear since it is SO itchy. I have tried vinegar, conditioner, lanolin and everything else I can think of. ❤
I love your work in progress cardigan, look forward to see it develop. I love the colour, I have used the wool dreamers unspun, I held the two strands together, I would be too inpatient to use just one . I do like the depth of colour, dying on darker fleece, it has inspired me. Take care, I hope spring happens soon, we are having a chilly end of winter here in British Columbia, Canada.
Designs are looking great. Also thanks for talking about Wool Dreamers. I've tried the Manchalopi and have just placed an order for the Mona. I'm now even more confident with my purchase. Your cables in the yarn look beautiful!
Another great podcast, Laerke! I'm loving the cable texture on your cardigan and the Perikon sweater. Thanks so much for doing a feature on Wool Dreamers yarns. I just purchased their Manchelopis on Thursday. I got the soft green color and can't wait to knit with it.
Hermosos tus tejidos, como siempre. Tan lindas esas lanas naturales. Aquí tamben en la Patagonia Argentina 🇦🇷 tenemos hermosas ovejas 🐑, Merino. Uso generalmente, estás lanas para mis tejidos, suaves y cálidas. Te envío un abrazo🤗.
I really enjoy your podcast, and that room is beautiful (love that green wall ❤), but I wonder if you might consider improving your setup to increase the light, sit closer to the camera, and have your camera and microphone in approximately the same location. I was waiting to see if you were going to talk about Mota! There has been a lot of discussion online among knitters because this supposedly DK yarn knits up definitely more like worsted weight! I do really like their colors.
I love the part about the Spanish yarn...new to me so can't wait to give some a try. I also wanted to thank you for your Gotland yarn I just recieved in the mail...it's lovey and the grey is so rich. Have you tried the Icelandic bind off? I have been using it on the hems of garmets and so far really love the look and stretch. I find it faster than the tubular or Italian bindoffs. Thanks again for sharing Laerke.
Hi, I love your designs but in this particularly, you are very distant from the camera and the light isn’t good to see the details of the garments you are talking about. Sorry. Thank you.
11:22 oh my goodness! The cables and that texture! Soooo good ❤❤❤
Thank you for the lovely podcast

Of all the knitting podcasts I subscribe to, I look forward to yours the most. Keep up the great work!
Aww that is so incredibly sweet of you to say 🤍
Good day I do like the shawl 0:41

Absolutely beautiful knitting projects 🩶🤍 Stunning shawl 🩵

Absolutely love the green sweater! The cables❤ I need to be brave enough to try my hand at cables. And also the one you need to take pictures of!
Oh I just really really like that shawl!! I will certainly be knitting that.
Thank you. Lovely episode
Lovely to listen too and always so interesting x
Perfect video to watch while knitting on my cardigan using their Manchelopis unspun yarn
It is always a treat to listen to your assessment of different yarns. And your designs are gorgeous!
I love your new shawl. I'm a fairly beginner knitter, I stick to easy knits.

Ohh how lovely to hear! I think their yarn hits that very nice spot of being rustic but also very sturdy and wearable 🥰 i have to try mota too ☺️

Thanks, Lærke!! Stunning shawl and that sweater looks sooo promising.... 🧶🧡💞
3:30 your shawl looks so beautiful ❤
Lærke, your designs are so incredibly gorgeous! You are talented beyond measure. That you for your beautiful podcast. 🌷🌸🌻🌹

Åh hvor spændende med det nye sjal. Glæder mig til det kommer som opskrift. Tak for dit afsnit 🌷🌷🌷🌷
The cardigan pattern and the shawl both look absolutely beautiful 😍😍 Looks so cosy 🥰
I can't wait for the shawl pattern to come out! So, so lovely.

Hermoso todo lo que enseñas ,me encantan tus tejidos ,esa lana se ve genial ,saludos desde Uruguay 🇺🇾 💕
Tack för ett fint avsnitt. 🤍✨
Thank you
May I ask when the pattern for your beautiful grey cardigan will come out? Or if you need test knitters before? Happy to apply!
I really enjoy your podcast, and that room is beautiful (love that green wall ❤), but I wonder if you might consider improving your setup to increase the light, sit closer to the camera, and have your camera and microphone in approximately the same location.

I also love Manchelopis. It’s not merino it’s from the sheep used to make Manchego cheese.
Thank you for yet again another lovely episode! Which pattern is the shawl that you show as an example of a cable cast on at about 34:00?
It is a shawl (no name het) i will start testing on very soon 🤗
@@FiberTales looking forward to it!
Do you think The Barrera is suitable for knitting babyknits?
I think so 🥰
