Class 1 was a lot of fun to watch.... the finals were really close. You did good... you against Crawlarado.. lots of fun! All we can do is have fun and get better. 👍🏼👍🏼
Matthew Romero Actually I learned a lot from Ikaika while I stayed in Colorado for a month last year. Had I not met him, I doubt I would even be close to top 5. Looking at the video, I realize now that I drive in slow motion! No wonder I DNFed. Thank you for watching!
Being from Louisiana im always jealous of you guys in the hobby with rock! Lol ive been strongly thinking about moving west just to have rock to play on lol
So there are 3 people on the course at all time. A judge, a driver and a spotter ( excluding crap ton of spectators and a camera guy 😆 ). The spotter helps the driver by guiding general course direction, giving some pointers and carrying and holding down winch stick when it’s called for. At least that’s how it was running at this event.
I have to say this is very cool competition...I wonder if I can find the specific rules of this Class 1 RC rock crawling competition somewhere...because I really want to know more about this.. and at the 13:05 point in this video, the driver Eric.K ended up DNF. How did that happen? did he break some rule during his run or something? Hope someone can enlighten me..:)
You can find crawling competition rule here - sorrca.com/rules.php And Eric K. got DNF by time out - driver gets 6 minutes to finish the course. Thank you for watching and let me know if you have any other question!
You got the point there. These truck can compete with the most of average class 2 trucks from what I’ve seen. But linked suspension in class 1 is perfectly legal in sorrca rule. Leafed gets more scale points
All of these trucks have some overdrive built in. Dig is not legal in this class though. Even class 3 the most of guys are going read steer instead of dig. I’d love to see some skilled driver using dig on the course.
anything rc. I was wondering about the stick myself. I think it’s about convenience of not having to carry extra truck around because some area has nothing but smooth rocks so that natural object winching is not possible. The stick is standardized for the event
Ikaika is the man! He took 3 trophies from all 3 classes. The next year won’t be that easy tho as SoCal boys here are working hard to give him a serious challenge! 😂
I guess you really don't have to be "true to factory scale" in this class 1, bobbed rearend, front tube faces, wheels base not centered. Class 1 is supposed to be fun not another comp run.
The spirit behind class 1 is not exactly true to factory but is more like modified daily drive - something you could see it on the street. Trucks with bobbed/ no tailgate, steel tube bumpers and 35” can be seen on the street. Also 1/2” difference is allowed between wheelbase and wheel openings of the body. In high level of competition, the build has to push the limit of the spec to maximize the performance
@@slopppy75 what you just described is class 2, what your running a class 1 pro or extreme. Class 1 was supposed to be as close to scale rigs, stock rig with small tires. It was really supposed to be a fun run type of class but people ruin it with there big heads. If your talking about Sorrca rules literally the example (unless they got rid of this example haven't checked in awhile) they use is a rc4wd D110 camel Safari rig. You Google it it's not chopped and stretched just a big rack and big push bumper(stock but little aftermarket mods that doesnt take away from stock integrity). If that's the spirit and example were supposed to go by none of these trucks would qualify. I'm not hating on the trucks because I to have a class 1 pro or 1.5 but I don't run it a class 1 event against stock Fj, Jeep etc...
Aforementioned D110 camel truck can certainly qualify for the class 1 but it won’t be competitive. There is a demand for sorrca to create class 0 to accommodate such trucks. Real full size bumpers, leaf springs, smaller 1.55 tires, opening doors and hood, zero cut body, higher scale point cap and etc... not sure if it will ever happen but it would be so cool to watch.
@@slopppy75 again describing class 2, but okay move what's supposed to be class 1 to class 0 then what? People with the same mindset are going to twist the reals like you agree with and make it into another crapshoot. Idk maybe it's just a West coast cheating thing but here on the East coast what y'all think is class 1 wouldn't be legal here
You could certainly build 100+ point super scale truck but obviously it will be very disadvantageous against the one with 60 points. The rule is there to set the base line and all the trucks seen in the video were all legal under SORRCA C1 ruleset. You may think its illegal but you're probably looking at rules from another scale comp organization. Say if I were to fly over and compete in east coast with new spec rules, I would have to make adjustment to make it fit so I won't have unfair advantage. You have a valid concern around class 0. A lot of people agree that it will evolve to be another class 1 and that's one of the reasons why it hasn't happened yet. I think some people have a problem with 'SCALE' of scale comp only because it's not true competition of how 'SCALE' trucks are. The way I see it is a performance competition while maintaining some 'scale' aspect.

As a noob to crawlers, I really appreciate how you do your videos.

it's nice seeing the professionals on the course
Haha I agree these guys are pros except 4th driver 😊
Great meeting and very good competition , nice rock crawling !!

Awesome coverage of the comp. Those drivers really put on a show. Thanks!
Thank you. I’m glad you liked it
Muito SHOW , parabens as EQUIPES .
What a cool area to drive!! I am going to go out there and go for a ride!!!!
I agree. There are limitless rock faces to crawl on. Beautiful place for us
Patiently waiting for last months video 😁 i think im in that one
Sorry Brian it has been a bit tight with free time these days. Which truck were you driving?
CRAWLER75 I understand, i get busy sometimes too, i can’t fulfill orders. Its the blue/white power wagon.
Thanks for the videos.
Awesome crawling video!
Thanks you for your comment!
What country
This particular event was held in the state New Mexico, USA.
Hi
does anyone know who owns the cars. I would have to ask a few questions because I want to build myself
Beautiful trophy!
Yup I wanted one so bad but no good
Where did you guys get your Ford super duty body's?
It’s Tamiya f350 hard body. I got mine from eBay.
Top notch crawling BROTHERS RcFam4Life 🤜🏾🤛🏾💯✊🏾🤙🏾

Wow... Great stuff man!! I was into it very intense!! Some awesome driving 👌🏻😎👍🏻
I know... these guys are no joke. Maybe next year I’ll give them a real challenge

When did class 1 change to 4 link all around from leafed or leafed back 4 link front lol.
Hah good observation! There were a few but none of them made to top 5. It's hard to beat linked truck on comp course.
Well no doubt they wouldn't make top 5 in their own class when you put class 2 rigs in the bunch lmao.
You got the point there. These truck can compete with the most of average class 2 trucks from what I’ve seen. But linked suspension in class 1 is perfectly legal in sorrca rule. Leafed gets more scale points
I'd like to know what axles are on the last truck. Pleeeaseeeee
I’m not 100% on this but rear is SSD Pro44 and front appears to be Team Ottsix TKO-10
A vehicle with overdrive front or dig unit or Mia where you can lock it up in the rear would do so well on this course
All of these trucks have some overdrive built in. Dig is not legal in this class though. Even class 3 the most of guys are going read steer instead of dig. I’d love to see some skilled driver using dig on the course.
CRAWLER75 that’d be cool if they allowed it
nice i liked and dubbed 👍
What truck is at 8:30?
If I’m not mistaken, it’s The Crawl Space Colorado custom chassis + SSD scx10.2 Axles + Tamiya Ford F350 body. He’s 2019 national champion.
Cool deal. I'm trying to get into crawling. Curious to see what the comp guys use. Thanks for the info
No problem Chris. Jump in on local crawling group and get the crawling going! Good luck with your build!
@@slopppy75 unfortunatly there aren't any local crawling groups
Great trucks ..but the big yellow stick of god ...is iffy ..if you'd mate is running you put it closer if not further more winch time or less !!!

Me too. There needs to be a wench spot chalked in to ensure that its being done from the same place.
Nice video.👍👍

Where is this?
It was in San Ysidro Trials area , New Mexico
Did the organisers test their own gates ? my god some of those are ridiculous.....
They do. And they like to mess with drivers lol.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Niiice:)
Thank you Marc!
👍👍
Thank you for the 👍
2 colored gates would be a lotta help the drivers merely need to glance at them and know how to aproach.
how? you mean one color for left and another for right gate?
@@slopppy75 yes like red always on drivers side (left)
So every body buys a truck with lift springs then changes to links hmmm lol
