the lighting for this ride is so beautiful, especially the transitions between scenes! hope to ride it myself someday
The OG POTC rides at Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom were before the movies, so they told a story of cursed pirate gold and the sacking of a town, with later additions of characters from the movies. But this ride in Shanghai was made to be ABOUT the movies, whether you like the movies or not, you must admit that this ride takes technology to the next level to show an epic pirate adventure!
This pirates version is...superior.
ride-wise, it definitely is, but the nostalgia of the ride that literally inspired the entire film franchise cannot be beaten, and i hope they never fully remodel at least disneyland anneheims attraction.
Well this Shanghai Disney land is the best park from Disney. Probably because it’s the newest.

Timmy Clarken they actually addressed this in the Disney+ series, The Imagineering Story. We find the original ride endearing because there’s a nostalgia factor that doesn’t exist in China. They don’t want to witness the story, they want to be IN the story. They tailored this attraction for the audience.

Makes POTC at WDW’s Magic Kingdom look like an annual county carnival fair clunky dark ride. 👀 Well maybe not that bad. 🌊🌊🌊🌊This POTC is AMAZING ‼️‼️

@@CoolFilmMovies Outdated is the wrong wording. It's still good for it's time. Sure, this is a good and very immersive attraction, but POTC still has it's charms it's had since the 60s.
Can you compare a carnival ride to an attraction that has weathered its way from the 60s all the way to now, and still manages to have a guest appeal, and has amazing sets, and still has the immersion?
WDW’s Pirates of the Caribbean is the best ride ever in the history of rides. I was just being sarcastic as this one is just screens and computers and projections. I was there when it debuted at the park and all I can say is that if Pirates is down the days I’m there it’s just not a trip to Disney World. I wish one day to see the first in Disneyland. “dead men tell no tales” and the pirate sitting up on the bridge wagging his bare foot just above our heads and the hairs on his toes and the pirate with the pigs .... and the song will forever be perfect ion ♥️
3:11 the skeletons of the three guys trying to get the key from the dog is a nice dark joke.
It's so different it can't be compared to all the other POTC versions. It really is the Jack Sparrow attraction. It looks like a few minor modifications have been added since the last video I saw. Nice job.
I just went there on April 2024, they changed the ending a bit… in this video, Jack was singing “yohoho”, in my ride, he was happy for all the gold he had stolen, when suddenly all the gold lost the golden shinyness. Jack was shocked and upset. The end.
Also fun tip: did you 3 pirates and a dog holding a key in the beginning? Each disney park around the world they aged a little… shanghai being the “youngest” park of all, means they had been there many, many years until they became bones! Lol..
So less animatronics - but what IS there is "state of the art". The main replacement is the super-IMAX size screens with great SFX projections. There also seems to be a restaurant at the loading/unloading area of the ride but on a higher level above the ride rather than on the same level like Blue Bayou.
This ride has two endings! :)
Yep, good ending where Jack ends with the treasure, and the bad ending where the treasure becomes seaweed.

Awesome! I didn't know Jack Sparrow was bilingual. Lol
Each attraction with Jack Sparrow i noticed that they make the character himself actually more unlikeable then even the movies. Storywise why did Sparrow decided to basically blowing up his own ship???. This feels like an out of character moment for him.
And therefore getting Jones's gold in the end makes again come off as less clever but unlikeable then ever before
This is the best Pirates of the Caribbean ride from all the Disney Parks

Where is this at? This isn't at Disneyland in California. I like the original version in California. Its a lot better and it's the classic original. It's the real Mccoy not the imitation version of this. PLEASE KEEP THE ORIGINAL PIRATES OF THE CARAIBBEAN. I GREW UP WITH THE ORIGINAL IT'S THE BEST.👍🏻
