I know incredibly little about cars and even less about AC but this explanation has helped me hugely in an attempt to help my partner set up his game the way he wants it, thank you for the translation to layman's terms!
This will help so many people get a better understanding of how tuning cars work, definitely would be a good idea to do a video on how to tune a specific car (eg a vdc car) so that people can get an even better understanding. Thanks for the videos
yeah I agree seeing him do it first hand than explaining what each thing do would give us a better example but I am glade he even made this because a lot of people don't make drifting tune help guides
This is what I’m talking about! Thank you so much!! As someone who knows just enough to get a line going I’ve struggled so much trying to “fine tune”. I kinda want to make an excel sheet with variables like this. (Car sliding out too much(a,b,c) etc.).
Wow i can't believe i've been struggling for this long using "wrong" settings, your few tips made my drifting buttery smooth it's insane thanks a lot mate !
Best vdc tuning video straight too the point idk why all my cars vdc cars had different camber settings on every wheel no front anti roll bar and 9000 in the rear
i used to do -30F and 60R but this has made me think differently about it, i have applied this to all my cars in assetto crsa thanks, made eveything much better.
These setup tips work well for cars that have good physics models like the Gravy Garage pack but for the VDC cars I find that they require WAY more tuning to feel even close to normal. The VDC cars feel nothing like a real car for those of you wondering why they're so hard to drive.
Me with VDC driving perfectly fine with this basic instruction, saying Gravy Garage has good physics is wild for cars with extreme angle kits and obscene tyres, second Diff Tuning and Brake Bias weren't mentioned but those help make these cars drive much better and third, sounds like a skill issue to me.
gravy feels "normal" because they are a pack that is meant for beginners. Extremely forgiving cars that are almost impossible to mess up in. if your only point of reference is a 300hp party car than a car with a ton of power and sidebite shouldn't feel "normal" to you. I won't disagree that vdc cars are not realistic but its not for the reason's you likely think
Thank you now i will have more undestending of changes that im doing I never liked VDC cars bf my wheel is not the best and cars was super snappy. Now i will try to make them more smooth and maybe actually like them
I have tried every car pack I've heard fuzz about and must say FDC cars are as real as it gets to real life. Pack can be found in their discord. At first feels hard but if you got the skills, these cars will reward you when hitting that first 100% comp track
very helpful mate.thanks maybe try this on the vdc silvia ps 13 as currently i just jump straight in and drive as is 😂 it does work well however be interested to see how it would be with a setup
For anyone looking to get better here’s the best method Iv found personally. Turn up the stability control to 100% and slowly bring it down at your pace. Give yourself a challenge and learn the techniques but also you can have the buffer so you don’t get too frustrated. Eventually bring it down to 50% 30% 10% and eventually zero! Hopefully that helps
The biggest thing not addressed is how much force feedback people run this changes everything most people run almost negligible force-feedback they're not even really feeling the car
Hey man Love the video very clear but I'm still having trouble with the PSI levels... The Cold levels compared to the Hot is higher... Example LF is 28 cold and 19 hot???? that doesn't make sense.... Also do i copy the exact green psi levels ?
I'm planning a more indepth video on tyres in the future, so a better answer will be in that. Generally speaking, hotter the ambient air is, the bigger difference there will between the cold psi (in the setup menu) and the hot psi (when sitting on track). I assume the lower hot value is from a super cold ambient temp. If in single player, check what your ambient and track temps are! Regardless it shouldn't matter, as the intention is to adjust the cold temperature so that when "hot" sitting in the pit, the tyre app shows green for whatever temperature value you set it in the Content Manager app. Hopefully this clears up. Kinda hard to explain without showing examples.
As a professional drifter irl how would you say Assetto Corsa compares to real life because I feel like my very limited real life experiences do not match the experience I have in AC but everyone seems to swear it's 1:1 if not harder to drift in AC than real life. I feel like there's no way irl drifting can be as easy as it is in AC. Edit: I think it's worth saying I usually drift cars from packs like DWG or Excite, not Tando Buddies.
thank you for the vid bro. i messaged you on discord about your link ecu dash mod/hud. i know ur a busy man. id appreciate it if you could get back to me 🤙🏽💯
front toe - toe out - negative value in AC = -0.10 to -0.20
rear toe - toe in - positive value in AC = 0.15 to 0.30
-> more rear toe = slow transition
-> less rear toe = fast transition
front anti-roll bar - 0 to 15,000
-> low front anti-roll bar = speed up car transition (snappy)
-- too much low will make it spin on max angle
-> high front anti-roll bar = slow transition down
-- too much high will make it understeer on bigger angles
rear anti-roll bar - 0 to 15,000
-> lower value will grip car when deceling but can make car not transition sometimes
-> high value will make it snappy
---- low front anti-roll bar and high rear anti-roll bar is good practice
front wheel rate
-> higher wheel rate makes car more responsive to steering input and can make the car bounce too much over bumps and can cause understeer when deceling
-> lower wheel rate makes the car feel spongy or numb
-> 70 to 90 (66 to 86 is fine)
-> high wheel rate can make a car faster in drift in some cases
rear wheel rate
-> lower value adds more grip but can make car bouncy over bumps
-> higher value lessens grip
---- wheel rate changes ride height
-> higher ride height = less negative camber and positive toe
-> lower ride height = more negative camber and positive toe
I know incredibly little about cars and even less about AC but this explanation has helped me hugely in an attempt to help my partner set up his game the way he wants it, thank you for the translation to layman's terms!
thx dude, your comment is very useful 4 me! 👍
Very useful, thank you!
"low front anti-roll bar and high rear anti-roll bar is good practice" it should be quite the opposite.
This will help so many people get a better understanding of how tuning cars work, definitely would be a good idea to do a video on how to tune a specific car (eg a vdc car) so that people can get an even better understanding.

Use wdt if you wanna actually see irl improvement
This is what I’m talking about! Thank you so much!! As someone who knows just enough to get a line going I’ve struggled so much trying to “fine tune”. I kinda want to make an excel sheet with variables like this. (Car sliding out too much(a,b,c) etc.).
Thank you for helping the community!
Your tuning video for the vdc 3.0 cars helped immensely as well, thank you man 🙏🏽
Thank you!
Are you able to make like a guide or tips for driving pro cars such as VDC?
ohw yes please!
Wow i can't believe i've been struggling for this long using "wrong" settings, your few tips made my drifting buttery smooth it's insane thanks a lot mate !
Thats very helpful! Waiting to see something about dampers and other settings 😊 You are a legend man!
i didn’t know about the tires being green. that helps so much
Best vdc tuning video straight too the point idk why all my cars vdc cars had different camber settings on every wheel no front anti roll bar and 9000 in the rear
It’s hard to balance the camber setting without messing other things up
Thank you so much for this video. With this info, I'm able to control cars I was never able to control before, and now I understand why.
i used to do -30F and 60R but this has made me think differently about it, i have applied this to all my cars in assetto crsa thanks, made eveything much better.
Daaaaaaamn! So many things I’ve been doing wrong thinking it works 😂 thank You for sharing the tip of the iceberg of setup secrets ❤️
This is great. Great explanation, actually one of the best explanations about drifting in assetto corsa on youtube. So helpful. Thank you so much
this guide is simple yet provides some of valuable insights. Thanks for making this video!
Your the best Iv been struggling with tuning these cars been watching you for a min never knew you had a video on this !!!
THANK YOU! ive been waiting for this video for over a year
To the point with great explanation and reasons to do it. Thank you!
Veeeeeery helpful! Thank you much for sharing!
I didn't expect this tutorial to be such class! helpful and quick info thanks
Great video! Would love to see more in depth tuning such as diff and suspension setups
!
thanks mate, the most awaited video is here. Thanks for the advice!
Hey alan, first of: THANKS for this tutorial!
second: can you make a full guide, how to tandem (chase) correctly?

I never liked VDC cars bf my wheel is not the best and cars was super snappy. Now i will try to make them more smooth and maybe actually like them
Thats the first time i have to see a video in 0,75 speed 😂 calm down, bro.
By the way, thanks, it helped a lot!
Thank you! Super clear action to effect explanation!
Yeeeeeeeeeeah dude ! Thank's for all 😉😉 I buy already your setup on your site but thank's to understand why u change the value 😁
Thankyou! ♥
That's really helpful, thank you

as currently
i just jump straight in and drive as is 😂 it does work well
however be interested to see how it would be with a setup
Bro, you've helped so much. I was so frustrated with some stock tune and now it's so much more forgiving and just fun over all
WDT pack
danks brotha ......all the info helps alot
Great guide, appreciate the effort !
stunning tips!!! thanks Alan~

Amazing video. Thank you❤
That was very nice made video, full with helpful things :D
Thankyou🎉
The legend has spoken
Very good video Alan Hynez
Great video, is there a more advanced one coming out, or is that a business secret?😁
Cheers bro this video is useful as
Thank you!
Thanks so much!!
could you possibly say something about dampers and drivetrains in another video< thanks for this video helped allot =)
Thank you!!!
Thanks!
thxx, very useful stuff lol
More please!!
What about the differential ?
More tuning videos please!!!!!!
The biggest thing not addressed is how much force feedback people run this changes everything most people run almost negligible force-feedback they're not even really feeling the car
My issue is that my wheel oscillates really bad at 100% feedback. 60% is about max I can go and it’s only a 10nm DD. It’s just way too bouncy
Would the same rules and values apply to street cars or is this more towards pro cars??
very good very nice
Cheers buddy 👌👍👍👍
Finally my pleb brain understands how the GOAT gets the job done.

@@HynesZ okay man awesome and thank you. I’ll definitely be looking forward to that video 😎.
where’s the suspension screen bc even when i search for it nothing ?
YES!❤
Finally 🤩🤩
wickeddddd
now dampers :D
Is it possible to adjust the caster values?
That requires data changes within the files. Can't be changed ingame
I have mine on the lowest setting but it is still in the red
@HynesZ could you also do a tutorial on CarX Drift Racing? thank you ✌️

Wowowow
🙌🏼
finally
how do i get more angel in setup
@@EDF-Aleksander pray more 🙏🏻👼🏻
probably gunna be the dumbest question out there, but is this also good things to do with Controllers?
none of these settings are available except the cars with specifics. Need tips on all cars not tailored bespoke ones.
The higher the gear ratio the higher the speed and the less acceleration you have.
YOOOOOOO
bro i would love to see how to get to the fucking screen that doesn’t exist 😂
15$ for drift setups?
wow
thank you for the vid bro. i messaged you on discord about your link ecu dash mod/hud. i know ur a busy man. id appreciate it if you could get back to me 🤙🏽💯
Bruh This Game will make You a perfect Car guy! 😅🫣🫰🏻
Thank you!
