- A Star Trek inspired SSTO small shuttle craft. Just big enough to transport an away team down to the surface of a M class planet. Haven't tested it on moons yet but maybe one day soon.

4. WHY isn't the video in ULTRA REALISTIC SUPER HIGH DEFINITION? Because unlike your rich ass that can afford a KILLER PC, I have to use what little money I have, to make sure that there's a roof over my head and food on the table before I can spend it on things like CPUs and GPUs.

THE CHANNEL:
This channel is about Kerbal Space Program and can consist of SSTO building tutorials and rocket building tutorials. Some times the videos contain bad language and adult humor but on a low level. In these videos no planet is safe as we can explore space together by landing on places like Duna and Jool and build large Duna colonies or orbital space stations. Also, Interplanetary SSTO builds seem to be a hot topic in the KSP community so I will be touching on those as well. I also build SSRT space craft. These are fun to build and easy to fly! Warships or space warships are one of my favorite things to make. Stock weapons can be very challenging and so when building them over time , you get to see the evolution of the designs. Same thing with the Warships. They get better and better with each new design.
Now , I know it's considered cheating but Kraken drives are a fun way to put things like warp drive ( like in Star Trek ) and or hyper drives ( like in Star Wars ) in your Kerbal space program game. These game mechanic loopholes are fun to figure out as you find out how they work and how to incorporate them into your star ship design.
Everything from Outposts on far away moons and Mining Stations around asteroids and comets, you name it I've ether built it or it's on my to do list! I still haven't really explored things like building SpaceX starship or any of the NASA spacecraft, and I think that's because it been done to many times. Recreations of spacecraft can be found almost everywhere on TH-cam now and so making yet another one seem redundant. Only if the spacecraft recreation is of one that I loved as a kid will I even attempt to build it. Like the Apollo Moon Lander, or the whole Apollo rocket! Now that rocket was cool!
Many people have ask me if I'm ever going to wear my Mandalorian helmet ever again for my videos. And , yes. when the time is right, and I get a new wabcam, I will be dawning the helmet once more!

That dolphin-dive start maneuver looks so freaking cool.
I wonder, would this design still work when you attach a crocodile hinge on the bottom, cause I wouldn't be surprised if this craft was really well at vertical takeoff from land... if the TWR is large enough and the hinge does not add too much weight, of course.
maybe it'd be possible to remove all of the landing gear and have one bi landing gear that posts it up so it can go vertical
If you're looking to min-max your mass a little more, the slightly larger spherical monoprop tank stores more fuel-per-dry-mass than the minified tanks. Should help you squeeze some extra juice out of these super tiny builds c;

Adjust the spring tension on the gear to raise the nose a bit for take off
You could put small nosewheels on the back as landing gear and a larger gear leg on the front to give the necessary angle. That way you'd be able to use it on land due to the better ground angle, it would likely weigh less, and you'd only suffer from the wheel drag

What about a small shuttle with a Kraken Drive then it could just fly straight up and down no water or racing along the hills to lift up!
And unlimited fuel. bit like a anti-gravity shuttle.

It looks and feels like a shuttle from The Expanse. Kinda like the knight (the ship james holden and his crew used to inspect the scopuli). Has a "brick" feel. Great design!

What mod are you using for the enhanced sound effects of the Rapier jet engine at 7:47?
At 6:20 he said he had to use his own sounds as OBS didnt record audio so it maybe a slowed down Jet engine start up

the scatterer wave that affects ships can be turned off in the scatterer menu when you're in the birds eye view menu of the ksc

So the rear gears may be preventing takeoff without a hill or whatever. What I ALWAYS do is move the rear gear FORWARDS some to give the aircraft a bit of leverage to rotate. In fact, all of my best and coolest hypersonic crafts employ this kind of tactic.

this is awesome but i have some tips to slightly improve it, for crew comfort id add a pair of ladders on each side of the hull so if for whatever reason u cant climb up the side you have the safer alternative. i would also suggest maybe adding a RATO system to make it fully ground operational, because its so small literally a sepatron on the belly would do the trick

if you turn down dampening to 0 then you should have less wobbliness with the folding wings

sadly, the wobble comes from the actual connection point between the servo and the fuel tank. 😢
I figure you'd need a bigger, draggier hinge for it to be steady.
You should check out the trek drive mod it's very cheaty but you can use the nc1701 and comes with many shuttle crafts.
Did you intentionally time the glissando at 8:08 with the widening plasma dome? Or did you time something else in the music and the glissando just happened to line up?

You can turn it back up with the settings button in the bottom right corner. I have to do that every now and then because TH-cam decided to turn it down.

That water launch technique reminds me of... that one ship? from U.F.O. back in the 1970s. Other than SLBMs, nobody has done anything like this in about 50 years.
