    Adding the nosecone makes the rapier look like it's aerospike derived. Very cool

    Dunno how I went years of watching KSP before discovering your channel. Showing some tricks that I haven't seen elsewhere until now like the rapier nosecones and reentry probe. Curious if you'll do any new "Build it with me" videos for a workhorse lander design for most planetary bodies and/or interplanetary hauler? But primarily commenting for the metrics

      Workhorse Lander Design? Maybe. It depends on if I have time. Some projects are easier then others.

    Even as a somewhat experienced KSP player, I still found this build-along to be very cool and somewhat helpful! Please keep on doing more of these! I love the look of the star boy, such a simple yet cool design

    As someone who has followed your videos on ksp, studied ksp and lows of physiques and created all sorts of crafts myself in ksp it's fascinating how your content even on topics are still very entertaining and useful. Very slick video indeed. For future content ideas. Can you make a stock simple to understand bush plane. Recently I have looked into creating as small of a bush plane as I could using the small roster engine with rover wheels. It's a small project for one of your videos, something that won't take long, so if you have any spare time I would love and appreciate seeing a VAOS tutorial on bush planes and future builds/tutorials. If you see my comments thank you for reading it. Have a good day, space cult forever brother 👏

    It's nice to see the return of Star Boy! I copied the original after watching your original Simple Cargo SSTO video, though for my game it has grown quite a bit into my enormous CargoMax series. Absolute workhorse of my game, built my space station and first interplanetary ship, and I even have a science variant with its own lander and lab. Thanks for making your SSTO tutorials, they're super helpful!

    1:45 additional auto strut advice:
    When you place your root part you should set its auto strut to heaviest.
    When you attach parts to the root those parts auto strut should be set to root.
    Next up is your moving parts like ailerons, wheels, landing gear, thrusters, these should all have it set to Heaviest.
    And finally literally everything else should be attached to the grandparent part. I hope that clarifies how auto strut works

    i suspect the amount of drag an occupied node generates depends on the size difference of a connected node. a 1.25m nose cone would create the least, more with the 0.625m, and the most without any.

    Sorry to resurrect this but I had so free time this evening and decided to build this, exactly! and it works! Straight out of the box. Yay! Of courss seer it does. Well I didn’t add the reaction wheels but it doesn’t need them.
    However, the aircraft wanders down the runway like it’s drunk very hard to keep it going in a straight line. And every thing in the cargo has drag and yes I checked, the doors were closed.
    gremlins? Kraken? Bath tub gin in The cockpit?

    • @vaos3712
      @vaos3712  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      nah just ksp being ksp. the wondering problem is wheel traction. make wheel traction highest in the back and medium high in front. And the drag is coming from the cargo part itself while the stuff in it is considered “stowed away” and has no drag. I could make a whole video on why the cargo bays in KSP make so much drag but I definitely don’t have time to type it out here. All in all, just normal game play physics.
