Thanks Kaz. Just downloaded this app and bought a bike. Will bike to bring fitness levels up and then hike some too. Not ready to carry my home on my back just yet, having been a couch potato for far too long 🥴
Thank you SO much for this. Really clear both in content and how you speak. I can now use the app - like straight away after watching this. I use it entirely on my phone, so a couple of things were a bit different but it was obvious what and how. I’ve now planned a few walks, one of which I think I might do today. Thanks. 🎉 😊
Thanks Kaz for introducing me to Komoot, it looks fantastic. those were very familiar places you were highlighting in the New Forest. Looking forward to next weeks episode.
We haven't heard of this app before but it sounds really useful! Thanks for the heads up and we look forward to your next two vlogs on this, kind regards, Simon and Elaine👍💕
Hi Simon and Elaine! 😊 I can’t wait to try this app on a multi day. I’ve been using it for local hikes and it’s been great 👍 Hope you find it useful. I love seeing recommendations from others-I’ve found things I didn’t even realise were there! Karen 😊
I down loaded the free app whilst supporting a group of students doing their DofE award. It works really well and I like the way you can sync it with friends to share walks. Good at tracking your hikes aswell and add photos to your maps are fun too.
Comment issues again, sorry if this is a double post. Cracking looking app Kaz, well presented too. We have used Viewranger for years, Kamoot looks great thi, especially the details for longer hikes and points of interest. Hope you are well, Ceri and Kat 👍☕❤
Interesting app you are showing us. I have not heard about it before, but looks like it could be worth checking out:) Thanks for posting and giving us good and visual information about the app!
Thank you! I’m starting to use this app more and more. It’s definitely becoming popular in Europe 👍 I’ve now got a paid version but have a go with the free one and see how you find it 😃
Great informative video, found lots I didn't know previously, I have the free version but don't seem to have any restrictions where I can plan is it just the downloadable option you have to pay for? did you have to pay for the whole UK to plan your Manchester trip?
Hi Graeme-I really like this app so far but haven’t been able to properly try it out over multi days (lockdown 😔). Can’t wait! Thanks for the sub-will head over and check out your channel later this evening 😊👍
Great review - the app looks good. I normally use OS maps so I tried importing the GPX file of one of the routes I created on there into Komoot. Strangely, Komoot didn't recognised some of the public footpaths (said they were off grid) and tried to reroute onto roads. This makes me think it might not optimise a hiking route to use public footpaths. Have you found this?
This looks like a pretty good app. I also made a video about the app I use. 😁 But I plan to put it up in april cause next month I'm doing #mylockdown challenge for 31 days! 😁 Have a great day! Kaat
Hello Kaz, cracking looking app, great demonstration too. How great are the options for long walks, wow! We have used Veiwranger for years, will give this a look when looking at longer routes tho. Hope you are well, Ceri and Kat x 🤗👍☕❤
Thanks Kaz, great info and review. I use the free version of komoot on my phone, however would not rely on it as my only planning tool - it ended up directing me down a 45 degree angle ‘path’ in wet weather when I first started hiking, which was a bit of a shock! The free version doesn’t differentiate between types of path on the map when planning your own hike. However very useful for elevation and estimating timings.
Yes but only if it’s within the free region allocated when you sign up. Hope that makes sense? All these apps are starting to slowly do the same thing I’ve noticed-let you have full access within a small area but requiring payment beyond that.
Thanks. That has made it a whole lot easier to plan and discover a route

Marvellous intro, thanks very much 😊

Thanks so much for your lovely comment and letting me know-so glad it was useful 😍
Very interesting, this looks great, gonna have a look at it :D thanks for posting
Let me know what you think! 😍
Love Komoot, brilliant route planning, audio navigation as you walk, and alerts when you deviate from your route are great.
I’m loving it too! I wondered how many others were using it as I don’t often hear it mentioned. Glad it’s working for you! 😊👍
Thanks Kaz for introducing me to Komoot, it looks fantastic. those were very familiar places you were highlighting in the New Forest. Looking forward to next weeks episode.
Ah I’m glad you think it’s useful 😃 I’m finding it really good but haven’t been able to test out any longer multi day hikes yet. Hopefully soon! 🤞

Yes! All of this 😍 I’m still discovering things it can do-I’m sure it will get really popular 😊👍

Hi Ceri and Kat 😊 I still use Viewranger but find I’m moving over more and more to Komoot. It definitely offers me more-see what you think! 😃👍

love the clarity - hoping there's some detail to aid my wife who is my "safety contact", What should she see and how could she see it, I am wondering?
Thank you, clear and very useful
Excellent video. Really helpful thank you
Ah that’s great-thanks for letting me know you found it helpful 😃

This looks good. Definitely will take a look. Thanks 😊
I’m finding it really good though I haven’t been able to plan and test a multi day hike yet, obviously. I have high hopes for it though! 🤞
Fab video Kaz. I was looking at Komoot to do the Lycian Trail in Turkey. Xx
Yes! I think they do a good daily breakdown of that trip 😍 I can’t wait to try out this app on a multi day trip... soon! 🤞
Never heard of this. Thanks for sharing the information. New connection here.

Oh no what a shocker! I haven’t had anything like that happen... yet. But I haven’t been able to go very far because of lockdown-thanks for the tip!
Just downloaded this app, but it doesn't have my map region, Singapore 🙁 it has south of Malaysia though.
Aw that’s a shame… I would send a message to Komoot and ask if they are planning to add Singapore 🤞😊
Can you save & follow the route you've planned on the free version? X
Yes but only if it’s within the free region allocated when you sign up. Hope that makes sense? All these apps are starting to slowly do the same thing I’ve noticed-let you have full access within a small area but requiring payment beyond that.
