It kinda of has a thrifted look to me, which makes sense for a teenager living on her own for the first time. I'm quite enjoying this series! The babysitter career should be next if you wanna do more part time jobs for awhile!

I actually do have a coffee tip! You have to make sure you’re well hydrated, which can cause crashing. Additionally you should be drinking your coffee leisurely, so stretching it out over time as opposed to drinking down a whole cup within a short amount of time. And lastly, more is not better and too much caffeine especially if you’re drinking quickly will cause a crashing

When I’m doing a rag to riches thing, and my sim lives in an apartment, I feel the exact same way. I don’t feel like my sim should have to pay for utilities like a fridge sink a bathroom because that should’ve already been included in an apartment so you could’ve done whatever you wanted and I would’ve agreed is what I’m trying to say.
Definitely think you could save some money by not putting all 6 or 8 chairs at the dining table. I think 3 or 4 would be a good balance!! Just a suggestion!! 🤍

there actually is a bag of ground coffee beans in base game debug! it’s hard to find but it’s there!! i use it to clutter my kitchens all the time. iirc it’s yellow with a green logo!

Now if you wanted to create a new, modern apartment building for the part time jobs, maybe the sim that's going to live in the space can decide all of that.

Im really loving this and the for rent series! Another cool idea for maybe a series I thought was modernizing the game structures like the museums, gyms and bars from the game (maybe it’s just my dream of download every structure and making my game look cooler)
This build is amazing, especially the bedroom which is so adorable! For the living space, the bigger couch could have worked in the green swatch to tie in with the dining chairs but otherwise the colours work together so well.
It's funny you complain about not working well on budget builds, yet everytime you outdo yourself 😭 this looks so, so good! I'm jealous my builds are always so expensive and end up looking a hot mess nevertheless lol
I think that everything in the apartment should cost something. It makes it more challenging, and the apartments already provides help by not having to pay for as many walls. I love watching budget builds that require some tricks and clever thinking
i think platforms and bathrooms should be free and anything more than the most basic kitchen (no mot the stained one but the other one) should cost money so technically you could have a kitchen included but you maybe asked the landlord to renovate the kitchen and that cost you but if you bought it with the technically 2nd cheapest kitchen set itd be free and if you only ipgraded the fridge or stove then that would cost money but the basic counters wouldnt
love this build concept/series sm, it's so unique!! also, if you're falling asleep after coffee you miiiight wanna look into ADHD and/or other conditions that cause dopamine imbalances (not a doctor, not trying to diagnose anyone, but just has been my own experience & that of many other people w ADHD that i know 🥴✌🏻)
*the reason for this being that coffee is a stimulant & ADHD (+ some other chemical imbalances in the brain) are often treated with stimulant medication just occurred to me that this probably isn't as common knowledge as i sometimes presume it is bc it's my everyday reality 😅
I would love to see a nurse! I know the career path is doctor but as a nursing student I get excited for my pay bump to come from ER Tech to a BSN RN, and the sims path starts as an assistant! Surgeon would eventually be neat as well, but maybe a new grad nurse who has a partner would be a cool idea with a salary of about 80k.
I think a fashion designer house would be really cool, you could even try having like a mini boutique in the front and use the retail stuff from get to work

I found that the best way I can cope with my second cup of coffee and not get jittery is to have an a single shot espresso. I wake up early so I have a single shot of espresso (ristretto) because it’s more concentrated. It’s like injecting myself with caffeine. At around 11 I have a normal drip coffee cause by that time I’m starting to get tired. I don’t have anything to drink after that. If I need a pick me up at 2ish. I have steeped tea.
for future reference, a “part time” job is anything fewer than 30 (29-0). so realistically you could have had a larger budget (around 20,000-21,000)! that’s typically for baristas in california.
In the Netherlands we rent houses from corporations that are not allowed to make a profit. When you rent a house or apartment everything is bare (floors, walls, windows etc.). The only thing you get is a toilet, sink and shower. In the kitchen a kitchen unit and sink, without kitchen appliances.
In the future doing any kind of part time jobs you should allow yourself to do the kitchen counters and cabinets and the kitchen appliances and sinks and bathrooms for free and not apart of the budget since they are included in every apartment and townhome that way you have the entirety of the budget to use for the rest of the house just a thought
When i worked as a barista i would literally neeeeever have an espresso machine in my house lol … why pay that much money when i get free shots at work whenever i want? Plus i don’t want to do upkeep on a machine at home AND a machine at work. But the build is super cute nonetheless

I love your logic over the basic shell, but I will say the point was to build something out of someone's full year salary. Also, every part-time job I've ever had was 29 hrs, and my partner mentioned some are up to 39 hrs to cheat people out of benefits.
