Beautiful shed, Great video. I have been putting one off for years. Think it's about time for me. Seven hours?? Unbelievable. It looks sharp!! Thanks for posting and enjoy it!
Easy-to-follow shed designs This guide has the information you need to design and build your own ideal backyard shed. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxzaRUJNcbypw-fRBDbqqz43ULIa-1EGP- The book then presents several basic sheds, along with a number of more complex special-use sheds. It was fantastic and I wanted to let all the readers know that even a little old Grandma can build a shed. Thanks to the author for offering all the directions to build a shed from start to finish.
Guys... this has a 20% dislike rate. That's a lot. You wonder why? It's because a lot of people that watch this already know how to build properly. You gentleman cut major corners on that roof build.
Why were the roof rafters not above the wall studs? I also agree with Terrance on the insulation. Just curious was that house wrap on the exposed side of the floor?
I think they worked hard and the product is probably fine. That said, I would like wall studs at 16" on center they looked like they were building them 24" on center. I would build the roof trusses using plywood gussets on both sides of the truss (except the end trusses, they get just one side with gussets). I prefer a better floor sheathing than that OSB stuff.
I am confused why they wasted your money insulating the floor although they installed the insulation backwards which would promote mold if you ever decided to insulate the rest of the shed and heat it. For your future reference, the moisture barrier (paper side) goes toward the inside of the structure.
Billy Knoth I know how kids can put a damper on things, my are pretty much grown but they were young once. No worries on power I've got some battery operated tools I'll let you borrow LOL.
Lol T&N Services LLC.... I got a huge generator .... But it sucks getting it all the way upstate .....lol... Batteries won't cut it on this job...lol.
I think the way I built my neighbors 12x20 shed would carry more snow load I used a heavy ridge beam and then rafters fastened to that it gave it a nice vaulted ceiling look and its high enough it allowed for 4' loft storage on both ends and 2' sides and it's open in the center
I must do a video on mine ...exact same size with less side window.Mine was pre-assemble from Cooks pre fab building with free delivery. I am using a PTAC heat pump . The rent in the city was just too much. Your looks great !
I looked into buying a prefab but couldn't find and around here I liked. My wife found these guys on Facebook. I'm going to use a Mitsubishi to heat and cool it.
Those guys were working hard for sure. Not sure why they didn't build the entire gable wall on the deck and stand them up. Would have been much faster. The only thing I was worried about is I didn't see a level or a square on the job site.

Com* It is a great one of a kind guide for building better sheds and woodworking without the normal expense. Ive heard some decent thin.gs about it and my cousin finally got astronomical success with it.?
where i am in texas - OSB means - 'Only Strong Before' Rain - i took a ton of time building mine & used pressure treated - ground contact on everything. plywood and the lot. built the trusses using plywood gussets screwed and glued and they are not toe nailed to the top plates. used ridge beam - purlins and sheathed the roof with at least 19" over hang drip edge and anything else to make water go somewhere else. used liquid flashing anywhere there might be a water intrusion and on and on........... ok, i over built the dang thing - but, water n' wind is a way of life on the gulf coast & i'd rather not have to deal w/ mold.
BoardsByTheBay I don’t think trusses were the issue, I think they misunderstand what a collar tie is used for, and it is not a substitute for wall or rafter tie. But you are right a proper truss would take care of it for sure.
They did a hell of a job Emin. There wasn't a lot of talking as they were building it. They knew what to do and got it done. I've got the mini split ready to go. I'm just waiting to get the ceiling up then it will be mini split install time
T&N Services LLC. I knew you had that mini split waiting lol. They definitely were experienced set of guys. I'm very happy for you buddy, It beats paying monthly rent
Hey Ralph, ohh man that looks beautiful my bro. Them guy's knew what they where doing. Can't wait to see the Video of you installing the Mini Split on it. Excellent job.
Shouldn't the insulation be the other way? The tyvex is on the bottom or outside so the paper should be on top here. Also they didn't attach the insulation so over time it will slide down the wall and leave gaps at the top.
I'm taking bets on whether a heavy snow or heavy winds will take that shed out of action. A smart man will bet that the mice nesting in the floor insulation or the mildew will ruin the floor first.

Hello, what was the price tag to have your shed built by the shed builders? I am thinking of doing the same size building for the same usage, a back yard man cave/office. Thank you.
Having a shed like that built now would probably range from $12-16k. Maybe less depending on the contractors that do it and the lumbar prices in your area.
Was all the lumber used pressure treated for weather? I'm not a pro but I know weatherized wood cost more so to save money trying to figure out if all the wood has to be pressure treated?

kraft faced insulation in the floor should be placed paper side on top,not iunder as they did here. It should face toward a potential heated area.
Why is the floor of a "shed" need insulation?
Shed isn't a living space, typically for storage.

@Bear dog Sure you did... Sure you did
Ha! I call bullshit!
Beats being in the dog house.
Title is a bit misleading.Unless by "how to build" you mean, "hire someone to build"... XD
insulation in floor upside down
Is it just me or do all the "workers" seem to have thier faces coverd or are facing away from camera?
Any English spoken on the job site?
Nice watching other people work for once.
Ralph, guest house for the in-laws?
Hey Mike, screw the in laws, this is all mine

I think it needs about 70k more nails.
Hi John! Thank for the link! The article is very informative ! I will implement today. BTW, Do they have a Facebook page ?
So this is how you build a shed, by making a 11 minute commercial! Ha
How to build a shed... Call the no joke shed building company!
Looks great Ralph !! On to the next one lol. Take care, Brett
oye si las cabrillas kedaban al ras de la pare komo les kedo kon bolado le aumentaron okomo le isieron
Gamaliel Meza kome te este guey jajajaja
They definitely worked pretty hard. don't know why anyone thinks it's not. however, they made plenty of building mistakes and bad practices! seems pretty inexperienced. even so decent job. They just need some pointers from a veteran. I'm inexperienced myself so a pro must be cringing lmao. good thing it's just a shed.
Rafter guy with a long handle on that hammer. Not your avg 28-oz framing hammer.
latino power, hard workers
You have permit for that lol.. I am not big fan of climbing extension ladders
Can't imagine carrying two packs of shingles too..Nice shed looks well built
LOL permit what's that. I had extension ladders too I guess it's all in what you get use to doing.
Insulation in floor wrong way....paper faces want you want to heat..I guess there heating the dirt
And I guess geometry isn't their strong suit either...
