"In my mind, a good guitar solo will trigger emotions, and you will not forget it once you hear it. I always keep that in mind when I create solos." Kanami Tono 👍👍🤘🤘🤘
Yes it has always been a favorite of mine but watching Ryan's reaction and him playing all those magical parts over again truly brought a tear to my eye.
But----Is this how Kanami files her fingernails ??----that very first delicious whine of fingernails zooming down the frets.......what a thrilling little screech !----I hope she never finds an ordinary fingernail file.........
This song has won each of the "Top X" threads on Reddit since it came out. I think it's pretty obvious why... no matter which version of Band Maid you love (Metal, Rock, Pop-Punk, etc.) ... this song is still amazing. Those goosebumps are all the sign you need.
I literally feel tears swelling up and get frisson with that build up to the chorus. One of the most beautiful things I've heard in music ever. Even after hearing this song at million times I still get that feeling. One of the best Kanami solos too.
@@Bekka_Noyb it probably sneaks into my top 15 but LIVE in LA wow it blew me away Sai-chan really seems to feel it and with Kobato feeding of Sai-chans emotions it truly becomes a once in a lifetime experience.
@@Bekka_Noyb It was worth every cent I spent to get to the US to see them I would have sold my house if necessary (maybe not lol) instead of just getting a bigger Mortgage.
I was going to point out that Akane is the standout for me in this song but then realized MISA's bass line and slides are phenomenal and how the two accentuate each other, then realized Miku's backup vocals and lyrics accentuating the strong lead vocals of Saiki and then realized the wonderful music writing and lead guitar work of Kanami with one of her best solos and then realized every member of Band Maid stands out in some way in every single song ......Every Single Song!! These girls are extraordinarily special and touch me musically like very few band have over the many years of music I've listened to.......and that dates back to the 60's. BRAVO Ladies!
Not just Miku backing Saiki, in one section where Miku's singing, back in the mix a bit, you can hear Saiki backing her even further back. Such a phenomenal band!
Every time I listen to the solo part, I get tears in my eyes. IMHO it's not the most difficult solo by lovely Kanami, but definitely the most emotional one.
The length of this song is so perfectly arranged. These ballad type songs tend to exceed 5 min. (and get bored, sometimes...) Beautiful guitar solo is put in so effectively where we expect the 2nd chorus. Miku's pre-chorus is doubled to emphasize the upcoming chorus, but the chorus ends with only one turn. It makes you want to repeat the whole song again and again. Incredible song writing!!
I posted it once before, but i will post it once again. BAND-MAID's Kanami Tōno: "A good guitar solo will trigger emotions. I always keep that in mind!" PERFECT example... That´s the most emotional guitar solo i know! Even after listening to it many times, it still satisfies me and makes me sad at the same time. BRILLIANT!
A song of lost love and not wanting to let go. I think Saiki does a great job in this song of conveying the emotions of the lyrics. You almost don't even have to know what the words are to know what she's trying to say.
True. I can always relate to the instruments right away. Female vocals are kind of hard gor me to tell what's difficult sometimes, and the language barrier fucked with me initially. The more I listen though, the more I realise how phenomenal Saiki is!
The feel of the song fits the name of the song perfectly. There’s just something about it that puts me in that same state of feeling like you’re daydreaming. Well that’s all I’ve got, hope you enjoyed your din
" Wonderland " for great vocals, killer bass line, drums & rhythm, with Kanami in the background adding little riffs & runs, beautiful song that i know you will appreciate 😎
Absolutely.... I think this may have been one of the first songs of theirs that I listened to that got me all choked up...lol And Kanami's solo....every time I hear it for some reason I am reminded that she had said at the time her greatest guitar influence was Carlos Santana... I swear this is the only place I actually think I hear it....shrug... Yeah, when you first encounter this band and you see people saying things like "Greatest rock band on the planet"...and you're thinking, "Yeah, of course they are... That's why they need the Maid outfits right?" LOL... 4 or 5 songs in you realize you have totally forgotten about the maid outfits...lol 9 or 10 songs in you're thinking, "Wow, these guys are really good"...and then at some point you catch yourself thinking :this is one of the greatest rock bands on the planet!"....lol Gotta love it... like you I am so happy I got to experience this....\m/
@@RyanMear well, I mostly say it, because that is the effect Kanami’s solos got on me. But I shed tears in comfort of my “no camera pointing at me” room. And I respect people, who can admit something wonderful gives them tears to their eyes
Ah... now you're getting into Band-Maid's mid-tempo stuff. You will not be disappointed. This song is MAGICAL. I mean that because this song is transformative. Its such a great song. What is really magical about it is that it changes form and feeling every time it is played by them. I've seen this song played live 5x now, not including the DVD lives. Each and every time it hits differently. Standouts being the Studio Coast live version and the recent Online Okyu-ji live versions. Listen to them back to back to back (with the studio version) and they sound and more importantly FEEL different. Its crazy. Yeah, their mid-temp/ballads are just as good as their heavier stuff, if not better in some cases. Daydreaming is for sure one my favorite songs from them and getting to see and hear it live a few times was amazing. If you want to stay on this track for a minute Wonderland, Page, about Us are good places to go. LEGS
I have always been amazed by Akanes drumming in this song and the sound of her drums. I just recently realized that a huge part of the drum sound is actually MISA, who blend in her bass so seamless with the toms that the bass and the toms sometimes hardly can be separated.
@@RyanMear I got a question about that, I'm not a drummer so I don't know. How do bands deal with that live when they play songs that the drums are tuned differently? 🤔 Do they have electronic "pedals" like guitars to change the tone quickly, or do they just tune in the middle and just "wing it"? I've seen several Band-Maid lives now (online) & they go almost non-stop between songs, including this one, but I never thought about the drum tuning till now & don't recall Akane or her tech making any adjustments between songs.
You can EQ them a bit differently, but I think most if it resides in the hands of the drummer. They're are different types of sticks that can get a softer sound as well...hotrods is one brand I thing think. But yeah, no one's changing the drums out👍 it's the skills of the artists to keep the overall feel intact
This song always hit me just right. I don’t know what it is about this band … but when I listen to other stuff ..in the back of my mind I’m craving Bandmaid. Once your hooked on them the bar is set so high, that I find myself getting bored of the bands I used to listen to.
This might be an unpopular opinion but as much as I love Paulina Villarreal of The Warning, sometimes I wish she'd use a double pedal just like how Hirose-san uses one.
I've said it before and I'm saying it again, "That building behind the band WAS standing, then Kanami blazed through her solo...and it crumbled." Thanks AGAIN, Ryan!
Daydreaming is easily one of their best songs and in my opinion Kanami's best guitar solo. All this build-up to the solo and then right at the top before the solo there's a pause, like that first second after jumping off something high, then Kanami comes crashing in with an insane amount of power and emotion... chills every time I listen to it. Shredding is cool and all, but emotion is what makes great solos. Side note, you should react to Matchless Gum. Definitely one of the hidden gems in Band Maid's catalog(B-side for YOLO), and has my second favorite Kanami solo. Something really cool happens in the 2nd measure that I don't think I've ever heard in any other guitar solo before.

This song is written so cunningly it's almost devious. First they get you in the mood and when you feel a bit vulnerable Kanami blows you away. I'm not very good describing emotions but during the solo bit it feels like a hatch door opens in my chest and a bright light starts to shine out.
The ability of this band to put out masterpieces is unbelievable... But they keep doing it year after year. Seriously, they've consistently had 2-3 song on every album since "Just Bring It" that most would consider masterpieces or instant classics.
Yes I adore that section too - I look forward to what Akane does there every time I listen to the song! I wish the director had showed us a longer shot of her doing it.
It struck some people kinda weird when I compared Miku and Saiki to Jerry Cantrell and Layne Staley a few years ago. But I’m finally tasting sweet vindication! These 2 ladies are a truly formidable and breathtaking duo.💪🏻🤘🏻
To be honest, every time I hear Saiki and Miku I can't help but remember Layne and Jerry and then you add Kanami, MISA and Akane with their energy and I can't help either but remember GnR...🤷♂️
This should be an interesting reaction what with one of the best Kanami solo. Kanami has said that this was her most difficult song to write and that she was most proud of the solo. It's always been in my top 5 B-M songs. That built up to the solo was perfect, the tension release with the solo was unbelievable. Thanks for the reaction
You're so on point with the Alice in Chains reference. Saiki-Miku's harmonies really add that haunting 'goosebumps feeling' to their songs, just like Staley-Cantrell did back in the day. Love ur reactions btw
One of their earliest self-written songs, and still stands as one of their masterpieces. There used to be a live version up that would just rip your heart out, hopefully you'll get to see it at some point.
It must suck being a reactor that enjoys Band-Maid knowing they have 100+ songs. With other bands one can react to two or three songs and that's all. These girls have too many good tunes I couldn't do that, I'd cheat 🤘🕊️
I've known about Band-Maid for at least a year or so and listened to many of their songs and watched many reactions too and for some reason hadn't listened to this one before so first time listening for me too. Can't believe what I'd been missing out on! Such a well written song so full of emotions and I love your comparison with Layne and Jerry's vocals in AIC because of how important the way they harmonize together and complement each other vocally is central to their songwriting and executed masterfully. Lastly omg that guitar solo 😮. My eyes almost teared up I was so close to being overwhelmed by emotions. The way you can almost feel everything building up, the brief dramatic pause when the other instruments drop off for a moment, then the climatic feeling that hits when she performs what has to be one of her best solos I've heard. Perfect balance of technicality and adding the right emotional feeling while staying cohesive to the overall composition.
A masterpiece Band-Maid song from top to bottom! Band-Maid is the one band that you can honestly say that they are not capable of producing a bad track. Sure some are better than others. Even the weakest Band-Maid track can stand up against anything being produced nowadays. Now If someone would have told me that I would be mimicking vocals in a language other than my own from a band of 5 badass musicians from Japan that happen to be a playing incredibly great music, oh and they are 5 cute girls dressed in maid outfits I would have said you are crazy! I guess I'm the crazy one, and couldn't be happier to be crazy. This band needs to be illuminated to match their Greatness. It is a complete shame that their channel only has roughly 400k subscribers while there are channels with complete garbage with more. We need to remedy that!
Daydreaming and Awkward, songs that show the best of Band-Maid. They may slow it down. It may be somewhat of a ballad, but there is so much underlying power. An undercurrent of "force" driving the song. They are brilliant at it.
As if we weren't already fans, often this is the song that seals it - deeply satisfying and joyous. Not much to add to what's already said in the reaction and comments, it just makes you want to be part of whatever follows for Band Maid.
What makes this Kanami’s best solo? It hits you in the feels every time you hear it. This will be the one BandMaid song that will never get old, it has a timelessness to it that will make it as good now as it will in 50 years. Also check out “Endless Story” for another ballad/mid tempo song!
From a radio interview in Japan. The host asks details how Band-Maid formed. Miku was already in her current talent agency from the start, she told the current president she wanted to sing. She liked bands, she liked maids. The president said that's interesting, and gave her the go ahead to form a band of maids. So she found the other members and Band-Maid was formed. Saiki joined around 1 month later, Miku wanted a more rock sounding vocalist. Saiki was in the same talent agency as Miku, but was doing her own thing. Then her manager one day told her, listen to this, what do you think? She was like, it's cool. The manager said, they're currently a 4 player band, if you joined, you'd be the 5th. And that's all the manager told her. On Miku's side, the manager told her they got a girl who was really good at singing. Miku was "let us meet her." But the manager said that Saiki would probably reject if she knew that the band's concept was to wear maid clothes. Miku said "if she refused, that would suck. Then, please help us deceive her." So the manager hid both the maid concept and Miku from Saiki. So Saiki met the other 3 members, but they kept telling her Miku couldn't come today, making Saiki wonder how mysterious the 5th member was. The day before the first live, they had a rehearsal, and that's when Saiki first met Miku. Kobato desu po (Hi, I'm Kobato po). Saiki was "huh?" Confusion. Then Miku told Saiki about the maid uniforms. Before that, they only told Saiki they were making the costumes, and asked her she didn't like frilly things right? Saiki said yes, I won't wear anything frilly. And she got "we can adjust it for you in the future, so it's ok." So she got a sense of discomfort because it felt like things were being kept from her. Then they sprang the maid costumes on her the day before the live. She's omg noooooo, it's frilly.... The costumes at the start were uniform for all of them. Saiki threw the apron saying she's not wearing that. But they already cut off her escape route (forced her to do the 1st live because it was decided already). But Saiki had a lot of fun after that 1st live. But she still hated the frilly stuff. Now, their maid costumes are personalized to each member.
Thrill got me into BAND-MAID, but *this* song... Daydreaming.... this is the song that really made me realize I'd found my favorite band of all time. This song was the one that helped lift me out of a dark mental state, and realize that beauty still exists and there is still amazing music to be heard. I keep coming back to it again and again. I love watching your reaction, because (like many others have said) it reminds me of my own when I first heard it. Thanks for this reaction!
This is one of your reactions that I re-visit often. As you can tell by my username, Mötley Crüe has been my favorite band since I first heard them back in '83 when I was 14... I've seen them live about 10x over the years...from '87 to '12. I was lucky enough to experience the release of their music when it happened and I can honestly say that when they released new music, my initial thoughts were always, "Is it going to be good...?". With Band-Maid, the question isn't "Is it going to be good?" but "How good is it going to be?"... if that makes sense... I can safely say now that I hold Band-Maid to the same level as the Crüe... not for the skill or complexity of their music (because Band-Maid is worlds above in talent) but for my love of the band.
What a great reaction to this phenomenal song this was. You didn't use many words, Mr. Mear, but everything you said was filled with respect, love and admiration for this once-in-a-lifetime band. And nothing less do these ladies deserve.
The amazing thing with this song (and really all their songs), no how many times you hear it, the goosebumps happen... every... single... time! Thanks for the reaction.
kanami said this song was so hard to composed but the outcome so pleasing in the ear...it feels the like im daydreaming in this song...they were so divers and dynamically good... band maid can do different variation in this song not only this but some of thier song they have more variations and taht kind of skilss are phenomenal
Thanks for this. I felt the same way. This song may feel more open but there's still a lot going on with Akane, Misa and Miku. You can feel the desperation and longing in Saiki's voice and it is complimented perfectly by Kanami's guitar when you hear and feel the eruption of emotion, angst and sadness in the solo. This is in my top 3 Band-Maid songs. Thanks again Ryan.
Daydreaming, About Us, Anemone, Endless Story, Memorable, PAGE, Wonderland, Awkward, Start Over, Mirage, At the Drop of a Hat and Smile -- an unbelievable range of mid-tempo songs from the greatest hard rock band on the planet - Band-Maid. "Daydreaming," "YOLO," "Puzzle,” and a host of others are world-class masterpieces. Although I love Daydreaming just the way it is and believe it may be Band-Maid's best composed and overall accessible song, I've always wondered if it was sung in English, how deep in the international market Daydreaming would have traveled...? Oh well, I'll stop daydreaming now. Thx Alan, for another great Band-Maid reaction! BTW - My original comment must have been erased by YT, which wouldn't be the first time.
@@wave8359 Hey, Wave. I'm certainly not saying it should be sung in English. (See my comment: "I love Daydreaming just the way it is...") I think the Japanese language is perfect for RnR (Choose Me, for example), at least the way Miku and Saiki manipulate the language / lyrics and sing them. I was just wondering if Daydreaming had been sung in English, how much further it's international play would have been. I bet USA radio would have even picked it up! My point was how sad it is that a bitchin song like Daydreaming didn't become a major international hit for the Maids, not that I'm in need of updating my passport. 🫤
@@TomClark-Futoura o ok......well. it still is too hypothetical a thing, ...it just would not be what it is if it were mangled into a different language. (When Alex Kerr (American) wrote..in Japanese... his famous book on his life in Japan,,,,he found that he himself could not translate it!---into ENGLISH ! ) So the English copy is the result of another writer's version..........just shows what can be lost. Anyway---sorry if I took your idea the wrong way. I am just continually surprised that so many N American (and UK) reviewers seem to think there is no alternative to just staying put in their little nests and hoping the band some day comes to them..............a shame, in a day when fairly cheap travel can take only hours to faraway places.....and experiencing a piece of Japanese music in Kyoto is a zillion light-years of difference from hearing it in ...Chicago ,or wherever.
I rate this solo along with some of the all-time best I've heard like Comfortably Numb and Limelight. I suppose most any good guitar player could play them, but only the special ones can create them. As impressive as Akane is in some of their faster and heavier songs, the groove she has in some of these slower tempo songs like this and Bubble may be even more impressive.
Kanamis phrasing on the guitar is really really good. She might not be the fastest , though i believe she can do much faster, it's not her style, so she will do tastefull to accentuate the song, and not the ego which many typical shredders do.
This entire song is a masterpiece, not to mention the solo and the buildup to it but the true masterstroke imo is that tiny screech at the start of the guitar solo. Its timing is simply PERFECT! the amount of turbulent frantic emotions it unleashes just elevates the song to a whole new level. And the solo carries that energy flawlessly to the end, leaving me in a somewhat somber, bittersweet mood alongside a vague sense of release. Like I’ve done everything possible and its time to move on now. This song always messes up my emotions. Just to reset myself back to normal, I often end up spending a few minutes to an hour wondering the reasons for my existence or some shit like that 😅 Kanami’s sense for musicality and the emotional flow in her compositions is so so precise. Freaking love this lady to bits. I would’ve been s fan for life even if this was the only song she ever wrote. Awkward and Anemone are a must after this as their vibes compliment each other really well.
Daydreaming is the warm morning sun on your face. It makes you take a deep breath and smile. The solo is a solar flare to the soul. I've been on this ride since Thrill and have watched and listened as these women have grown musically. Daydreaming is still a top 5 song for me. It is basically mid tempo perfection.
Wonderland just might be BAND-MAID’s best song. Saiki is longing to be with someone who used be in her life and will never return. Even if you don’t know the wonderful lyrics, you can understand exactly what she is feeling (with some help from Miku). Akane’s drumming reaches a new level of sophistication and musicality. Kamami’s guitar wails to poignantly express the heartbreaking agony of a lost love. This song is on another level, ranking up there with Since I’ve Been Loving You.
Yes man, I also met and I thank Band Maid for meeting new friends even if it is in other countries, here I am Boa Vista- Roraima - Brazil, I have a great satisfaction to be on this journey, it makes me happy.
Yes yes yes, one of my fav's this has just the right amount of everything. From the frenzy that is Rinne to an acoustic masterpiece that is puzzle/Anemone to a perfect ballad that is daydreaming.... Band-Maid broke the mold and gives perfection. And yes Miku's harmonies are incredible, a perfect compliment to Sai-Chans powerful vocals Po!! Oh and another fav is "Dont you tell me" the call and response between Kanami and Misa with Akane working magic on her kit.....all the fans at that zepp tokyo in 2018 witnessed magic...
It's great that you like this wonderful song so much, Daydreaming is right up there as one of my favourite Band-Maid tracks and I think its the best of their softer songs by a country mile. It oozes enchantment and Kanami's guitar solo is the most beautiful and atmospheric that she's ever written in my view. I do feel with their more recent material that they're in danger of going for complexity at the expense of the song itself; Daydreaming remains as a reminder that simpler songs can demonstrate their brilliance and skill just as much. I long for further gorgeously atmospheric songs from them.
I agree so much with this ! They gain something from allowing themselves a bit more room, a bit more time, ----otherwise, as with a moment of brilliant but lightning birdsong, --you are left wishing you could have found a way into it more. -------------this song is just sublime !
Saiki said she wanted to sing a ballad cos. Saiki instructed kanami to re compose as many as times as she was satisfied kanami can't go against Saiki but that was the birth of a masterpiece まぁ Not enough time, M isa and Akane arranged everything for "Choose me"
The world need to treasure these fantastic musicians, as a unit and as individuals! They're fun characters in life too with genuine friendship amongst each one, no petty egotism or unnecessary narcissistic excess and debauchery. Genuinely think one of the (if not the) greatest band currently. No apologies to any pretentious elitists, these girls are superb at what they're doing, and what they're doing is superb! .... fabulous reaction channel by the way Ryan, my favourite. Great insights with plenty of soul and spirit.
Yeah this song right here is amazing. Definitely one of my favorites! The solo from Kanami really does speak to you, I personally get some Santana vibes from it.
Why are these ladies not considered national treasures in Japan? From what I gather, they have a decent following in Japan but nothing close to what they deserve. This is one of the best bands in the world!
Hello Ryan, simply Magic Maid, a beautiful Rock Ballad, it seems easy to write it.. but how these girls fill every single space is absolutely fantastic, I say this as a musician, Saiki even if I don't know Japanese gives you his passion, the work of the whole band is fantastic. I go back in time with ballads like Scorpions, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, Europe and so on. Kanami's solo is fantastic, it seems like an extension of Saiki's voice and it arrives in a moment that you don't expect, breaking the traditional schemes and his choices in the various riffs with U2 style I find them brilliant. Bye have nice day
Nice reaction. Kanami solo: "I gotta listen to that again." I remember that, except for me it was again, and again, and again lol (after I'd already done this with Misa's bass line on the second verse). This was one of the first songs I'd heard by the band when I discovered them, and I thought at the time I was hearing practically a "perfect" song. It was mesmerizing. Oh btw, they love playing this song live, and there are few different versions that they've written for this (there's some wonderful variety here, for example, iirc, they played the intro and first verse at Shibuya acoustically; other times they had Kanami on piano).
My top five Band Maid songs changes constantly, but Daydreaming is always number one. And yes, when MISA decided a five string was necessary this G&L L2500 USA was the one she chose. I know she loaned it to Akane for at least a bit when she was teaching her to play bass.
Thanks Ryan. A gorgeous song, and a great reaction. There's not a single thing out of place, but it doesn't sound in any way manufactured. Saiki and Miku's harmonies are awesome (and Saiki sounds amazing), MIsa and Akane are perfectly understated and melodic, and Kanami's solo? WTF? Her solo reminds this old fart of Jimi Hendrix on The Wind Cries Mary and Jeff Beck's solo on Stevie Wonder's Looking for Another Pure Love; not in how they actually sound, but how they carry the emotion of the song in a ballad. Plus her ringing tones evoke The Edge's sound on Pride (In the Name of Love).
It's between this solo and "Alone" for my favorite solo. Actually, of those two my favorite is the one I most recently listened to. Just like many Maidiacs, I'm sure.
The first song I heard from Bandmaid about three years ago was their very first video for the song Thrill. It’s a really good song but I really got pulled in when I heard Dice and Blooming!
All the sides of Band-Maid are freaking great: the hard rockin', the proggy, the jazzy, the groovy, the experimental. But the balladic side is also an area where they really shine. And Daydreaming is where it started. If you dig this side, Ryan, think about Anemone, Awkward, or Endless story.
next step for you is to see them live. i've seen them 3 times (2017 SF, 2018 LA, 2019 LA) and i happened to be living in seattle when they were there too in 2016 but i didn't know them back then. just make sure you're quick coz tickets will go fast. i just hope 2022 is back to normal for all of us.
Anemone is also a good one. The acoustic version is the one that has the most reactions but there is an original album version which was initially in their channel but it's not popping out in recent search. It's on Spotify though.
My favorite Kanami solo!!!!!
"In my mind, a good guitar solo will trigger emotions, and you will not forget it once you hear it. I always keep that in mind when I create solos." Kanami Tono 👍👍🤘🤘🤘
That's amazing
Might be my favorite Kanami quote. How many guitarists think like that?
Yes it has always been a favorite of mine but watching Ryan's reaction and him playing all those magical parts over again truly brought a tear to my eye.

...it seems as if her words hang in the air itself........................
Kanami makes that PRS cry like a baby in such a beautiful, melancholy way.
Freakin' genius.
Daydreaming is Kanami’s masterpiece! It is her favorite song and yet her most difficult song to write! Great ballad!
That solo always leaves me in awe every time... no matter how many times I hear it. Pure musical bliss in 25 seconds!!!
For me it's the contrast between such a soft pretty ballad then balls to the wall shred.

Such a phenomenal band!
@@dennismulhall3057 They are quite special, the epitome of 'The Perfect Storm" of musicians that come along rarely in ones lifetime.

IMHO it's not the most difficult solo by lovely Kanami, but definitely the most emotional one.
*BAND-MAID* don’t just listen with your ears listen with your heart 😊
The length of this song is so perfectly arranged. These ballad type songs tend to exceed 5 min. (and get bored, sometimes...)
Beautiful guitar solo is put in so effectively where we expect the 2nd chorus.
I've never heard a more touching guitar solo in my whole life.
The vocals on this song are just spectacular.
Plus probably Mincho’s best solo ever. And it’s so unexpected.
Songs like this one and “Smile” just brings tears to my eyes. So good!
What a lovely and gentle exit from the solo part.
Yes!...somehow I am so glad to hear someone else remark on this too !
I was impressed Ryan didn't cry like the Dicodec guys.
Why do you think he played the guitar sole twice and the second time made it full screen ? Haha
You don't know me!
LEGS
the real grower for me was At the Drop of a Hat.
I have always been amazed by Akanes drumming in this song and the sound of her drums. I just recently realized that a huge part of the drum sound is actually MISA, who blend in her bass so seamless with the toms that the bass and the toms sometimes hardly can be separated.
At one point I meant to mention how different Akane's drums were tuned/ recorded....so great
@@RyanMear I got a question about that, I'm not a drummer so I don't know.
@@RyanMear nice, thank you for the reply. 👍
This is what i call a perfect song.
Just want to say thanks for inviting us all to come along on your BAND-MAID journey.
And your t-shirt game is on point, as usual.
That solo is so well placed and arranged IMO. Like you said, theirs a build up of tension in this song that just explodes at that part.
I love how emotional the guitar solo sounds.
Kanami's guitar solo has so much emotion and I also love Akane's drumming that starts at 5:23
Yes I adore that section too - I look forward to what Akane does there every time I listen to the song! I wish the director had showed us a longer shot of her doing it.
This one really makes me appreciate Kanami (composer/soloist extraordinaire).
At the same moment you show you have goosebumps ... I have too ... and I saw this MV dozens of times!
A heart-wrenching melody solo in this song and song "Puzzle" .
There used to be a live version up that would just rip your heart out, hopefully you'll get to see it at some point.
are you referring to the version with the piano intro?
@@frankgonzalez4853 Yes. From the "World Domination" tour, 2018.
4th! :D lol yup. when that short and sweet solo kicks in... lol mic drop ending with Saiki
Awesome power ballad! 'nuff said!
Being touched on such a raw emotional level is what makes music so special in my life. I love Band-Maid for making this song.
As if we weren't already fans, often this is the song that seals it - deeply satisfying and joyous. Not much to add to what's already said in the reaction and comments, it just makes you want to be part of whatever follows for Band Maid.
Goosebumps and glassy eyed that's OK everyone who listens to this gets the same feelings they truly are the living legends known as band maid be well
Perfect, this was just perfect 🕊️🖤🤘
It is an amazing composition❤️
Thank you... sometimes I think "There's no way I've said enough..."
Alan?!!
@@RyanMearOh, right. You're the one with the beard. ';-)=
WHY must it be sung in English?--it is not an English song ! Why not spend money on a passport some day ?
OMG! Kanami's most fave song. I was waiting for this!! No head phones?? Their first self written song Alone plz.
I love it when they perform this song live, it's always so emotional.
Hell yes. You nailed it
Kanamis phrasing on the guitar is really really good. She might not be the fastest , though i believe she can do much faster, it's not her style, so she will do tastefull to accentuate the song, and not the ego which many typical shredders do.
Kanami is one of the most gifted, musical guitar players I have heard in a long time. It's obvious why she loves Santana.
Just to reset myself back to normal, I often end up spending a few minutes to an hour wondering the reasons for my existence or some shit like that 😅
Kanami’s sense for musicality and the emotional flow in her compositions is so so precise.
Yes yes yes, one of my fav's this has just the right amount of
everything. From the frenzy that is Rinne to an acoustic masterpiece
that is puzzle/Anemone to a perfect ballad that is daydreaming....
Band-Maid broke the mold and gives perfection. And yes Miku's
harmonies are incredible, a perfect compliment to Sai-Chans powerful
vocals Po!! Oh and another fav is "Dont you tell me" the call and
response between Kanami and Misa with Akane working magic on
her kit.....all the fans at that zepp tokyo in 2018 witnessed magic...
They gain something from allowing themselves a bit more room, a bit more time,
----otherwise, as with a moment of brilliant but lightning birdsong, --you are left wishing you could have found a way into it more. -------------this song is just sublime !
How can anyone not love these ladies and what they do to our hearts!👍❤❤❤🤩🤩
Daydreaming is a beautiful masterpiece & is Mincho's fav composition. Thus proving BAND-MAID can play any style, any genre & play it awesomely :)
Saiki said she wanted to sing a ballad
cos. Saiki instructed kanami to re compose as many as times as she was satisfied
kanami can't go against Saiki
but that was the birth of a masterpiece
まぁ Not enough time, M isa and Akane arranged everything for "Choose me"
@@はるとも-d5y Yep & Saiki also asks Kanami to write parts that fit a particular key she wants to sing a song in. That's true ❤ right there :)
Wow, awesome!
As much as I love heavy music, this is fantastic and one of their best songs. Its so beautiful I sometimes cry while watching this video....
They just don’t do mediocre period , my favourite solo from Kanami intense but with soooo much feels 👍
My top five Band Maid songs changes constantly, but Daydreaming is always number one.
And yes, when MISA decided a five string was necessary this G&L L2500 USA was the one she chose.
I know she loaned it to Akane for at least a bit when she was teaching her to play bass.
If you really love this song, then you definitely need to see their live version. It will bring tears to your eyes. So beautiful!
One of the best ballad from bandmaid. This was the 3rd song i fell on love with them.
I want this played at my funeral...
Same for me...until I heard YOLO played by Kanami on the piano.
Every damn song is so good on so many levels. This one is magical. Enjoying watching your Band-Maid journey with you.
It's between this solo and "Alone" for my favorite solo. Actually, of those two my favorite is the one I most recently listened to. Just like many Maidiacs, I'm sure.
Everytime I listen to this song I get goosbumps. And it is nice to listen with a friend! Thx fot the reaction.
One of my favorites for the vocals is Freezer. Just listen to it on Spotify. The way Miku and Saiki play off each other is so good
love freezer tho i am more partial to Arcadia Girl
The first song I heard from Bandmaid about three years ago was their very first video for the song Thrill. It’s a really good song but I really got pulled in when I heard Dice and Blooming!
Kanami's masterpiece this is and will always be my favorite band-maid song I always get chills and teary eyed every time I listen to this
Time and time again, one word comes to mind when i hear BAND-MAID ...... JOY!!!!!
This band is fanfuckingtastic!
Cheers m8!
I think I'm daydreaming now... Thanks for the reaction to another masterpiece from the ladies! The quality of their output is so impressive...
I call Kanami's solo in this song "isekai". Cause it hits you like a truck and takes you to another world.
Top notch reaction! Amen, brother!!
Love Akane's drumming in this song. One of her best.
I also love this song. This song can be listened to over and over again. Amazing song!
That solo coming from nowhere...
One of their best. Thanks for reacting.
About Us by them is also good! Can't watch the live version without tears🥰
next step for you is to see them live. i've seen them 3 times (2017 SF, 2018 LA, 2019 LA) and i happened to be living in seattle when they were there too in 2016 but i didn't know them back then. just make sure you're quick coz tickets will go fast. i just hope 2022 is back to normal for all of us.
Anemone is also a good one. The acoustic version is the one that has the most reactions but there is an original album version which was initially in their channel but it's not popping out in recent search. It's on Spotify though.
