omg jayce presenting the hextech gloves with "people in the mining colonies can work harder with less fatigue!" tell us more about the fucking MINING COLONIES, JAYCE! is what they need really to WORK HARDER, JAYCE?!?! 🙃
great episode!! to add to the converstation about jayce and being “yoinked away from oppression”: talis is stated to be a minor house by ximena talis herself. still a privilege to have a house but i don't think classifying them as an industrial elite is fair in my opnion. jayce works himself in the forge constantly. that’s why his focus is workers, because that’s what he knows and sees. in the beginning of act2 his and viktor’s showcasing starts with them complaining about having to meet council’s demands, not having an opportunity to do what they wanted. it's interesting that him and viktor both have to depend on council’s demands (as you all perfectly said, the council only caring about it when it comes to their own gain and weapons) to even sustain their research. as stated in his journal, he can’t even afford to use gold in his inventions in act1. again, still a privilege to have education and be sponsored by kirammins, but it’s a transactional relationship that can be (and was) dropped off and taken away at any moment. again, as was the support of the council. mel literally exploits and manipulates jayce (and viktor, for that matter) for her own gain (which is an interesting part of her character, I love her development!!!!!!), and their economic positions matter here. they are not on equal footing. like she pushed the position of the councilor on him (in that scene you can see his panicked expression) for her own gain. he says several times that he didn’t want that position but tries to do good with it anyways (naively assuming that his new position will help him bring down the corruption) his proximity to power (cait, mel, being appointed in the council) but also his proximity to the oppressed (his economic position and associating with viktor, constantly insisting that viktor is his equal) is what makes him an interesting character. he, as many middle-class people, exploited by the system, falls into the trap of prioritizing individualism and distancing himself from people less privileged than him (here, the people of zaun), despite the fact that… they’re all being exploited here. my opinion on all of this, that his privilege allows him to be ignorant to the structural problems of piltover. It allows him to think that the problem in here is individual (corrupted politicians, “dangerous” people of zaun, workers needing better tools), not structural (piltover’s imperialism, oppression of zaun, exploitation of workers). sorry I have like a lot of thoughts about him!!
@@skulliebythesea thank you all for this episode, honestly. like didn't realize i've been starving for good political analysis of arcane and its characters! i love your appriciation for neuance, it's so refreshing!!!
finch nation coming late to the party!! the beggining saying that it's so hopeful yet so sad how we're so close to class concousness it's way too real I don't know if I'm crying or laughing lol
Loved the episode ❤! though I did have one thing I wanted to add I liked that isha being nonverbal was never fully explained to the viewer I like that she’s a character that you can put different disabilities on or different neuro divergencies on I think that it’s something left up to interpretation on purpose and I think that there’s different ways that you can read it❤

thank you! I'm so glad to hear that!
in the echo/heimer alternate reality they were making purification things, i think it was plants 😀
So, at what income level is it acceptable to kill a person?
~10 times average... you don't need to be that much richer than the average person because the average would be very good if no-one was
Probably anyone that makes more money then them, which isn't much. Maybe 20k plus?
