The REASON Picher, OK is abandoned is because the mining that was taking place there directly underneath the town has rendered most of it's buildings un-stable and ready to collapse. Also, there are huge piles of toxic waste material all over the place which are dangerous to even be around. The government even had to forcibly remove a few people who didn't want to leave. I suspect there's not a lot for cops to do in that town, so Adam was probably a welcome bit of distraction on an otherwise sleepy, boring summer day. :-)
Disney is not crap. It may not be your thing, but it's not crap. Adam has multiple interests, and his videos reflect that. He will be at Disney again, just like he's now back on the road. Enjoy it when he makes videos you like, and when he doesn't, don't watch. I enjoy almost all of Adam's videos, and if I don't, I just wait for the next one.

Adam...honestly I think that THIS is what you were born to do. I get to travel with you and learn the history of small town America without having to leave my living room. These kind of videos are my very favorite, and you get better and better each and every day. The addition of the little drone was genius. Yes; he's clearly doing his best to be respectful of others. I have noticed that he's obviously asking if he can record people; sometimes they say yes, sometimes they say audio only, sometimes neither - for example he clearly had several minutes of friendly conversation with the cops near Mantle's place, but did not publish any of it. That's the way it should be done!
my dad was a comic and was preforming in a review in Laughlin NV where Kinisen was to preform. he was packing to leave to come visit me when he got a call that Kinisen had died in a car crash on the hwy coming into town and to stay because they were going to have to run the review in the showroom to replace Kinisen's show.....

Thanks for sharing it with us. I haven't dug back deep enough into your vlogs to see if you've been to 4 corners (AZ, NM, CO & UT) but if not you should the next time you head back west. Of course it's so famous it's almost cliche' but still fun to see.
Did you know that the four corners monument isn't on the actual four corners? The site is actually on an Indian reservation several hundred yards away. The big concrete stand and photo op center was put where it is for easy tourist access...so anyone who stands on that nice monument isn't actually in four states; I guess the builders figured no one would realize? So as a fan of geography, I give the Four Corners monument a big thumbs down!
+MENT ACLE Considering what a pain it is to get there from any of those 4 states as it's literally in the middle of nowhere on the Navajo reservation I think most would allow for a margin of error smaller than what you get from looking up an address on zillow.

FWIW to you Pitcher , Ok was a lead mining town . Due to all the mounds of lead ore from the pit mining activity the ground water became severely contaminated with lead. Really great vlogs Adam! I reallyfound Miami Ok a very warm and friendly town as a retail outlet I worked for had a store there that went out of business in 1998! I never lived in Oklahoma but love the state & very friendly people that live there! Take care Adam and hope you are truly are at peace & happy at being on the road again! Wow that was cool, a police excort to mickey mantle's house. You touched so many places and right down the road from one after another. Did you plane that? This trip is so great. To know that much of you family's history. That man that cleaned himself up, god know when your coming home. Chirp
The entire town of Pitcher was evacuated due to unrestricted zinc and lead mining. The shafts ended up undermining the integrity of many of the town's buildings, making them unsafe, and also they discovered that the water and land was severely contaminated with lead. The children living in the town all pretty much had lead poisoning as well. So the government put emergency services into place that just evacuated the whole town and the government purchased all the land with the intention of keeping everyone off it.
How do you find all of these interesting places? Are you using an app?? I love graveyards and I think it is so cool when you show all of these obscure grave sites... Having a great time traveling with you!!!

Sirch One I did...flew over from the UK and stayed with a friend who lives in Northborough. She took me all over, Boston, ate Lobster in Cape cod... loved it! The Woo should check it out too!

If you look at Google Maps or Earth, you can see the Four Corners Monument actually does fall on all four borders.

A 2006 Army Corps of Engineers study showed 86% of Picher's buildings (including the town school) were badly undermined and subject to collapse at any time.[5] The destruction of 150 homes by an F4 tornado in May 2008 accelerated the exodus. On September 1, 2009, the state of Oklahoma officially dis-incorporated the city of Picher. The town ceased official operations on September 1, 2009 and the population plummeted from 1,640 at the 2000 census to 20 at the 2010 census.
