    Great video! One thing that I believe needs to be done is reaming the main well to #3 taper and opening up the cross passage. Also make sure to open up the bottom of the main well. Keep ‘em coming!!

      Yes I did open up the top of the main wells and blend them. And I opened up the main wells, but thats easier said than done, I went through several metering blocks before I was through, some of the main wells have thin walls, people we were racing with, said they left there main wells stock, but i think they need to be opened up too.. if I was building one today I would at least buy alcohol metering blocks, and the boosters. I did do it diy , but thats not always the best way. The alcohol blocks also have physically larger jets. A better way to go. Thanks

    An old timer that I worked with was huge into racing, he used to build a lot of sprint car engines, would modify Holley Carbs for alcohol. I bought one off him, he would die grind out where the Power Valve was on the meter block. He also used to drill the meter blocks as well and epoxy them. They seemed to work good, just wondering if they would of worked better with Power Valves?

      Ryan with that type racing it probably worked fine, I like to run a power valve to keep control of the fuel curve. But when you grind out the power valve area you add fuel capacity, you need over twice as much alcohol as gas. So increasing the fuel capacity is pretty smart. Back then we had to modify a lot of stock parts to race. Take care.

      Wheather your talking about e85 or just straight alcohol Bolaws Performance.

      Yes I was planing on doing an alcohol fuel system part 2, are you trying to convert your carburetor to e85, if so let me know what carburetor you have.

      Usually the main jets and air bleeds are the main parts that need changing, let me know what brand, size, list number and booster and I'll try to get you in the ballpark. Hope this helps.

      Also change pump squirters and needle seats 110 to 130 size.

      Absolutely, but alcohol is usually used strictly for racing you have to upgrade your fuel system to alcohol and up grade the carb. But remember alcohol is very corrosive and alot of up keep, but it makes horse power.

      @@holleycarbshowtosadvice40y90 the guy here in town @carburetor specialist told me it couldn't be done kinda figured he was wrong ,got a deal on 671 blower and my 408 sbc is probably 11.5 -12.5 to 1 I can make that work with alchol correct ,what do I need to convert to alchol and you have to flush system everytime you run it ? Will my Magna Flow 500 deliver enough alchol ?

      Just need to change the boosters to like 180 to 190 and the right size accelerator pump nozzles .050 with a hollow pump nozzle screw with 50cc pumps front and rear , the emulsion air bleeds stay the same. Thats about it. Jerry how have you been doing, I just found out about Buds passing sure sorry to here that.
