  • Marcelo first illustrates 2 varying methods of training and competing by playing conservatively, then radically assaulting forward. With his final and 3rd demonstration, he balances risk and security to represent the most efficient mode of sparring.

    amazing how he can manipulate his jiu-jitsu that much, it's incredible how he can roll like three different people and still be in control. just overwhelming.

      Basically, your ego will keep you in your comfort zone and stop you taking risks. Risks that lead to better understanding, learning and improvement.

      It was Gianni Grippo. He's one of the top American jiu jitsu players. Won lots at black belt, I guess you could say he's not bad :/

    Isn't going too hard when training a bad idea? There are days when you should be going easy to prevent injury? If you go hard all the time on your fellow training partners its kinda meh too?

      Klauze the idea is to push yourself everytime you train, if your training partner is not training as hard as you then you should go harder, that's how they'll learn

      He was showing 3 different fighting styles one was aggressive the other defensive and the last was a blend of both offense and defence and picking the right times to attack

      +nunya businezz flexibility is developed MUCH easier than people think. If you dedicate yourself to training flexibility ~30 minutes a day while you are watching TV or something, you will be able to do this in ~3 months, provided you are younger than 40, and not obese.

    I don't understand what training at three levels of intensity implies about risk management. Sure, you can be more risky-aggressive or less, and how one should do it depends on the occasion. But awesome, awesome rolling anyway.

      Before he was kick off the gym...Marcelo is amazing, a simple and humble man, very respectful and a master in the art of jiu jitsu..
