I remember getting a PS2 and this movie on DVD for Christmas one year and being amazed that I could watch this on my little tv in my room. Good times 😌
The fact that it was made with this intensity of love and passion is WHY it got all the A-Listers of the early-2000s to star in it. Duchovny did it because he wanted to parody his own X-Files history; Seann William Scott did it because he wanted to distance himself from Stiffler in American Pie. Julianne Moore was experimenting with various genres at the time and I remember Orlando Bloom was doing Sleepy Hollow, which was intense but, like Gotham became later, super-involved psychiatrically to the degree of being a dragged-out type of boring, and Bloom knew this was fresh and fun. And this film obviously had real biology and anthropology consultants on-staff - maybe even a military consultant or two. I do like that they portray the US Military’s internal corruption and yee-haw-ness accurately (my father was a marine; don’t tell me the military ain’t arrogant) and without fear nor favor. Yes, this was love, and intricate, and I remember being impressed - and am still impressed- that the film did not waste its own potential. I remember avoiding it when it came out because it looked from titles like it would be schlock. It isn’t. It took it being shown to me instead of me choosing it but I am glad I was compelled in the end. Worth it.
From the producer of Ghostbusters starring Stifler, Fox Mulder, 7-Up guy, Buffalo Bill, Clarice Starling, Bull from Night Court, and should be satired.
"Wayne! I think we've established that 'ca-caw, ca-caw' and 'tookie-tookie' don't work."
“Right. Sorry.”
My favorite part 😂😂😂

Let’s say the actors were allowed to have fun. For a comedy that’s a recipe for success

At the end of the movie it's just a Head & shoulder advertisement 😂😂😂
