I think the straight man often doesn't get enough credit in these scenes and Matthew plays it perfectly. I love his confused looks and half smirk and 'Hmph' face at the end, he plays it perfectly

I thought this was Tom Cruise's best performance. This is not in any way a slur on Cruise. He showed a different side of himself, and dare I say it, the boy has a bit of comedy in him!! I'm guessing it's due to the fact that he only had a small part and he didn't have to give a shit. They took away the looks and hair and replaced them with chubby hands! Brilliant!

I could watch this over and over and it will never get old. And I have never seen the whole movie.
For some reason, I love hearing Tom Cruise cursing, it makes him more funny, I believe.
Fun fact: Because Tom Cruise created one of Tropic Thunder's best characters, he demanded that his input be put in to the finished product, and he was willing to learn whatever it took to get the job done. It was, and it was glorious. Les Grossman proved so popular and so in-demand that Cruise agreed to bring him to the MTV Movie Awards back in 2010. It's amazing what hilarious mid-credits dancing can do for your career.
