As a 60 year old metalhead who has appreciated greats like Led Zeppelin Deep Purple Judas Priest ACDC Metallica and so on I have never experienced the impact of a singer like Floor Jansen. She and Nightwish had such an effect on me that in June 2023 we flew all the way from South Africa 🇿🇦 to Gelsinkirchin Germany 🇩🇪 to watch this Valkyrie perform and at 5 months pregnant it was a privilege and honor.
Too bad, you didn't see the early Nightwish. Yes, Floor is great, but Nightwish original vocalist, Tarja, is absolutely epic. The early Nightwish was something that's never been quite equaled. You should go back and look at some of their earlier stuff like wishes to eternity and End of an Era.

And where Tarja can sing only one style, Floor can do anything she likes: from deep death growls, to classical/operatic singing (sometimes in one sentence, or word) to powerfull belting, to beautifull clean celtic / folky singing, rock singing with distortion, using twang and vocal cry where necessary and yes.. even poppy singing when the story of the song calls for it. Floor does all these things at the flick of a dime, with great ease. Meanwhile Tarja is just struggling to get her quasi operatic notes out. Floor is a 1000x better singer than Tarja.

Foremost Female Figure in metal music, the Queen and the Valkiry Godess: FLOOR JANSEN. Nearly all polls show it. When asked who is their favorite female metal singer, about 66% or 2/3e of responders say: Floor Jansen, while Tarja Turunen normally gets only 1/3 or less of the votes that Floor gets.
I think Floor is the best female metal singer on the planet, but I've just never found her particularly attractive. I realise this comes down to personal taste, but when I look at a band like Rolling Quartz from South Korea (hard rock rather than metal), all of their members are stunningly gorgeous, as in they could be models.
@@1970Phoenix Well, that is your personal taste indeed. For me as a man Floor is a stunningly beautifull woman, in a way that goes much deeper than just simple "pretty". She has a fantastic physique (built like an Olympic swimmer or athlete, with long straight legs and arms and perfect proportions) and a beautifull face that has many expressions and can be stunningly beautifull (especially when she is singing), and sometimes a bit drawn.. but that only makes her more interesting. Most of these other singers do nothing for me. Only Simone Simons I also find very attractive. She has a very beautifull face and there is special "undefinable quality" about her that sets her apart from the average singer. These other singers and especially those girls from Rolling Quartz have no physical or emotional attraction for me. I find them small and scrawny, and their facial features don't talk to me. But hey, it is as you say, in these things it is about personal taste, and this is certainly no value judgement, because all human beings, small, tall, thin, thick, beautifull or not so beautifull and of any color or race are just valuable to me. As much as I love Floor and appreciate her unmatched talent to sing EVERYTHING... there is just NOONE that compares to Tarja. Vocally and personally. She is just different, I appreciate her so much. I never like it when people make lists like this…… everything is so subjective everyone has their own favorites, and everyone has their own set of criteria, so until you come up with an agreed-upon rubric for evaluating singers, it is impossible to agree on a list, and all that happens is people sit here and argue. That’s why I don’t even watch videos like this it’s not worth it.

And i think this is what it should be. They are doing everything right. And yes, all ofthem are very easy on the eyes. My favorite is Alejandra, which is kinda ironic for me as i have a huge preference for redheads and blondes. When i find myself in awe of the beauty of a dark eyed brunette I call it the Monica Belluci Effect, for how much i love a brunette woman looks despite being different from my preferences.

Foremost Female Figure in metal music, the Queen and the Valkiry Godess: FLOOR JANSEN. Nearly all polls show it. When asked who is their favorite female metal singer, about 66% or 2/3e of responders say: Floor Jansen, while Tarja Turunen normally gets only 1/3 or less of the votes that Floor gets.
I think Floor is the best female metal singer on the planet, but I've just never found her particularly attractive. I realise this comes down to personal taste, but when I look at a band like Rolling Quartz from South Korea (hard rock rather than metal), all of their members are stunningly gorgeous, as in they could be models.

She has a fantastic physique (built like an Olympic swimmer or athlete, with long straight legs and arms and perfect proportions) and a beautifull face that has many expressions and can be stunningly beautifull (especially when she is singing), and sometimes a bit drawn.. but that only makes her more interesting. Most of these other singers do nothing for me. Only Simone Simons I also find very attractive. She has a very beautifull face and there is special "undefinable quality" about her that sets her apart from the average singer. These other singers and especially those girls from Rolling Quartz have no physical or emotional attraction for me. I find them small and scrawny, and their facial features don't talk to me. But hey, it is as you say, in these things it is about personal taste, and this is certainly no value judgement, because all human beings, small, tall, thin, thick, beautifull or not so beautifull and of any color or race are just valuable to me. As much as I love Floor and appreciate her unmatched talent to sing EVERYTHING... there is just NOONE that compares to Tarja. Vocally and personally. She is just different, I appreciate her so much.

Floor Jansen are the most popular, most charismatic and most talented woman in metal but in the top 3 best female singer all genre in the world. Not place Floor in first place are weird. Floor with Nightwish are the perfect fit.

And yes, all ofthem are very easy on the eyes. My favorite is Alejandra, which is kinda ironic for me as i have a huge preference for redheads and blondes. When i find myself in awe of the beauty of a dark eyed brunette I call it the Monica Belluci Effect, for how much i love a brunette woman looks despite being different from my preferences.
