Electric blue acaras are a hobbyist-developed color morph of the regular blue acara. when you said it is unlikely that they will cross breed, you seem to have forgotten that. They are unlikely to cross with yellow acaras, but different color morphs of the same species is just like different color morphs of scalares.
@@sydus81599 Can you cite your source for that statement? Even "blue rams" aren't that blue. Also, if electric blue acara are 50% regular blue acara, then they certainly can cross with them.
also, Electric blue Acara are listed in scientific papers as Andinoacara pulcher. If they were hybrids they would be listed as Andinoacara pulcher x mikrogeophagus ramirezi. Electric blues are also the same size at adulthood as wild form ble acara. Crossing with a fish that gets only a third of it's length would introduce genes that would significantly affect their size.
Hey Joey, my suggestion for the 16' footer Aye!!! 2-3pairs of snakeskin gouramis would be a great addition. Maxing out at about 10" inches and having a simple olive green color, they would nicely contrast the existing brighter fish and just be a larger gourami in the tank. 🧐🧐🤔🤔🤔✌🏿💯
Yes, I learned from a transhipped/importer that the opening of the bag, allowing gas exchange, can unlock stable water and cause pH crashes. The longer the fish in the bag, the higher the possibility.
I have blue and Yellow acara. Most beautiful fish. I got 6 of the Aquedens janero, and I love them! But the electric blue i dont think i'll ever learn to love. Nice tank!
Great video…I would add Suriname Red Spot Cichlid (Guianacara sphenozona 'red spot'). Finatics in Mississauga has them and they are about to start shipping. Kaity’s Cichlids just also released a video on the store. Great place. I have some Synodontis Multipunctatus from them that are older than my 16 year old son.
👍🏻😎I love Acara's. I have a male Royal Acara thats only about 6-8 months old and is already almost 6" long and I have him with a Electric Blue Acara that's about 6 months old and 3" long.
I have royal acara that look more like your yellow. My yellow acara look nothing like the ones you showed. Very plain fully grown. I have blue, eb, black, yellow and royal acaras. Great fish for planted tanks other than hygrophila lol, they seem to love it
Joey how are you brother? Do you suggest a sponge filter and an aquarium bubble stone in an Aquarium? Also where do you like to purchase your fish online at?
The biggest downside to Aquarists Across Canada is the cost of Fed Ex Shipping. I just bought 6 of their $20 Albino Moor Goldfish because the last time I saw them was 30 years ago, but after taxes and shipping my $20 each goldfish are now $45 each goldfish. In 8 months to a year they will breed so I will recoup my investment, but costly upfront.
I see that their packing is top-notch, and the selection is great. Yes, even 3/4's across the country is cost-prohibitive. It gives me more assurance to order from them. As you say, for unique fish, it may be worth it for us crazy fish people.
@@redlaser1656 Yes. They AAC is good to deal with for odd things. I believe that Canadian shipping is ridiculous compared to other countries including the USA to the south.
Joey it’s been like 5 years since I’ve seen you on my feed. Your current setup is amazing.
You should subscribe.
Fr just got on my recommended again aswell
@@chriscasey7113 I have been subbed for years
I think you should add a large school of melanotaenia boesemani. Beautiful big schooling fish. Would look phenomenal in that 16 foot tank.
should definitely get a big school of congo tetras for the 16ft
I'm honestly amazed at how beautiful the geophagus and electric blue acaras are! Stunning choices!

Electric blue acara are actually a hybrid with mikrogeophagus ramirezi, close enough in relation for the offspring to be fertile, both male and female

For smaller fish, you should consider adding some mollies or some Buenos Aires Tetras.
Love seeing the different fish that you have. The blue acaras are amazing looking. Great choices!!

I’ve hesitated to order from them just based on the distance but I may try now !
Happy Thanksgiving 🦃

Some jack dempsey would look great in the 16ft tank
Thanks excellent ❤❤❤
Thanks for sharing J, long time subscriber. Supporting you always . Greetings from my small channel in NY @ joy of fish keeping 🙏
Even if you get the fish straight out from your friend's aquarium, quarantine them if they are in a bag for more than 4 hrs.
Have you forgotten to put your seatbelt on 😅 on your way back ?
06:11 temu looking for workers be like
One of the blues are in with the yellows
How do you setup a proper salt water aquarium?
I have royal acara that look more like your yellow. My yellow acara look nothing like the ones you showed. Very plain fully grown. I have blue, eb, black, yellow and royal acaras. Great fish for planted tanks other than hygrophila lol, they seem to love it
Put on your seatbelt!
Joey how are you brother? Do you suggest a sponge filter and an aquarium bubble stone in an Aquarium? Also where do you like to purchase your fish online at?

Seeing the fish shipping cost in the US. We are jealous.
Do roseline sharks
I guess it's a Great White Shark, or a Blue Whale... pretty certain I'm correct
How much was the shipping?
👍
A group of Siamese algae eaters will help with that black algae
OMG--- what is bosterous? Are you meaning boisterous or is there a special term for aquarists?
Get diamond tetra!!!
I keep saying I’m going to order fish from AAC but am still to do it, once the new tank arrives I’ll bite the bullet and do it

Why doesn’t your car beep,at you when you drive without your seatbelt? Not good.
that blue tank just looks terrible. the blue back with algae on it looks
atrocious.
Problem is acara in person, look rather bland . Too much assortment of fish looks far from natural .
I think You should really be an Example and wear Your Seatbelt.😒
Love u but pronounce.... Ah-car-ah....
there was a period of time when I thought Tamara was your daughter
