Thank you so much for this detailed tutorial! I'm considering trying Sims 4 + Blender for some of my machinimas, and there's so much to learn from zero. Your video is the clearest I've seen so far on the topic.
I would definitely love to see a more in-depth tutorial, particularly with regards to importing animations into Blender. I'd also love to see workflow recommendations-- how to keep the tedium of bringing in so many different animations for projects like yours and keeping them organized to a minimum. :p
Well, I’ve never done this before. But I’m diving into sim content creation because I now have a great computer and I’ve been obsessed with the game since I was 10. (20 years of sims for me 😅) need to make something of it I think!
I had stumbled across your Casting Call and then this popped up on YoutTube, which I am very grateful for because i have been searching long and hard to find a Blender Render Tutorial that was helpful. I take that as that the universe wanted me to subscribe haha. Nonetheless I love your content and can't wait to see what you produce in the future
Ah, thank you for making this! I always wondered what your technique looked like since your renders you make are gorgeous. I already make renders but they're very basic and this will definitely help up my game!!
This is a fantastic tutorial! I just have one question... how did you turn off the visible bones at approx. 5:30 into the video? This is after you finish up the posing.
Sooo that also means I can do anything with my Sims 4 characters that I could do with any other model in Blender? Interesting, didn´t know such a tool existed.
You can export animations using Sims 4 Studio, create an empty Animation clip and on export select "EA Clip" with the correct armature selected. Also, I've updated the link to the latest version of Sims 4 Ripper in the description! (sims4studio.com/thread/34354/ts4-sim-ripper)
@@draufilm yup. i did everything right. but like the basic rigs (like hands etc) work so i dont miss anything VERY important. there are like some bones that doesnt do anything. also my blender just crashed so i need to start rig my character again XD
@@Aksunen I'm not able to replicate this, unfortunately. I did have a similar issue a long time ago where instead of exporting a single mesh + textures, I was exporting them separately and that caused some rigging issues. But that's not the case for me now, so I have no idea I'm afraid.
Maybe it will work for you? Underneath "Save As" make sure that it says "Single mesh and texture" instead of "All separate meshes, one texture" - and of course always use DAE.
@@draufilm I got my first render and its beautyful thanks to you! but i could not get rim lights like you. i wanted to make like "police" lights but i didnt get the rim lights work
Can someone help. I dont know if you are seeing this but how can i make the sim eyes reflective so the Light would reflect from the sims eyes. I dont know if you understand what im trying to say😅

This is so surreal, I wish I watched this before, I had to learn all this myself ☠️ great video! 😭👍

Thank you so much! so simple!
This was so interesting, Dale. Thank you!
Thank you!
This is a fantastic tutorial! I just have one question... how did you turn off the visible bones at approx. 5:30 into the video? This is after you finish up the posing.
Thank you! Press 'H' after selecting the bone in 'Object Mode' to hide them, and then 'Alt + H' to unhide. Hope this helps!
This was so helpful, thank you!
Thank you!!
WoW Dale! I love this! It's so easy to follow!
Thank you Peny, I can't wait to see if you make anything!

Interesting, didn´t know such a tool existed.
I know right? Makes the sims four very useful.
YESSSSS KINGGG
how do you import animations from sims 4 to blender? sims 4 studio doesn't seem to be compatible with the new version on blender.
@@draufilm thank you so much, I’ll try that 😌
I lost , after posing and positioning your sim , howd u end up losing those edit mode on bones
I have a Missing Thigh Bone on Little Girl's Model, though. It does fine with her Mom's Model
Strange, I haven't really had much or any experience working with child sims, so I'm of no help really. I'll definitely check it out, though.
if they have only the head in simripper? sims without a body?
When I update my sims, cc doesn’t work
What is your blender version?
I use 3.3.0 in this tutorial. 😊
@@draufilm ok , thank you ^^
I can never load my sim in ripper, always get an error...
I'm not super well-versed in the ripper, but if you tell me the error I might be able to offer some help!
i have problem, some of the rigs doesnt work or they dont do anything?
