Been using the Novablast 4 for about 4 weeks now and they're the best runners I've had. They're superb. Stable, firm yet bouncy ride. Good grip in wet conditions. Can't fault them in the early days of using them.
@@ourwilliam2405 I've no problems whatsoever. What I'm finding I'm doing which I haven't done with other ASICS/runners I've had is I'm really focusing on allowing the shoe to do the work. I'm purposely trying to find the sweet spot of landing with them so I can then maximum bounce and projection with my running. I've done a couple of slow runs but they make me want to go faster.
Personal experience I had Kayano as originally told I overpronated at ASICS store. I suffered from knee pain from Kayano almost every run. I had, had knee surgery (key hole cartilage clean up) and doctors post operation and post scan said mechanically knee was ok. So now knowing it could be my trainers, I bought nimbus 26 which are Neutral pronation and hey presto no knee pain, ever, straight from first run! Difference was night and day. Super soft and solved my issues, was clear I just needed more cushioning. So thought would share.
For running fast races definitely the novablast are good but for most people seeking comfort nimbus 26 or even 25 are equally good! You can just feel the comfort difference between them
Questions for TRT : 1) When you guys are testing different shoes on each foot, do you alternate say "shoe A" on the right foot for 5 miles, with "shoe B" on the left, then switch for the next 5 miles? 2) Have any of you ever just been unable to run in 2 different shoes again at the same time because it was just too awkward?
I had the exact same feelings in my review of the Nimbus 26. I'm happy to see I'm not alone. Especially given, like the Run Testers, I didn't really enjoy the Novablast 3...
I had the Nimbus 25 and the Novablast 3. I put 300 miles in the Nimbus & 500 in the Novablast. After 300 miles, the Nimbus was just too much weight and bulk. The Novablast also feels like a big shoe, even though it is much lighter. The Puma Deviate Nitro 2 pretty much retired them both. Even though it is a shade heavier than the Novablast, it just doesn't feel like a big shoe.
I tried the Novablast 3 and the nimbus 25, my choice goes to Kayano 30, i’m slow like a white man in Kenya but my feet are very grateful. Hy everyone, thanks for your work.
How was your experience comparing the novablast 3 to the Kayano 30? Im in the same boat comparing the novablast 4 or the kayano 30. I havent tried the novablast 4 yet, but the kayano is indeed very comfy. I have a little flat-footedness but close to a neutral running gait.
@@ChillGuySammy I don't know, I only used them for running, they are too narrow at the toe and have a high drop for my tastes. But they are still very comfortable, I suppose they are excellent for standing for many hours.
@@ChillGuySammy its more for recovery runs. It won't give you much energy returns. Can be used for walking as well. 31 is much better for neutral runners.
When reviewers say a running shoe fits 'true to size' does that mean 'get same size as your normal everyday shoes/boots' or 'get the half size up from your normal everyday shoes'?! Clarification would be much appreciated! I am still confused about whether running shoes should be a half size bigger or not. Especially when reviewers sometimes say 'this feels like a big shoe and a bit slappy'. Maybe its the wrong size?! So difficult to know without running in both sizes I suppose. Anyway, thanks for the review!
I have about 500km in my Nimbus 25 from last year and 200km on Novablast 4 and I have to say that the Nimbus is my choice for easy runs even if it has much more wear in them. Novablast 4 is good for faster paces, but I seem to get some discomfort on my midfoot and achilles at easy paces.
I'm not 100% sure re: true to size, I have supination so I chose the Gel Nimbus 25 last year. Fantastic running shoes, only that I have the feeling I could do with a half, or one size up as I am experiencing some discomfort on my left small toe. They seem fractionally too snug for me personally.
I am between two sizes and chose the smaller size. So, my larger right foot, which i measures 28,4cm is in a Nimbus 26 / Kayano Lite 3 / Superblast / Fuji Lite 4 with 285mm JPN. Yes, I'am right at the front, but it isn't a problem. All those toe boxes are WAY too spaceious for me. I have no elephant feet to fill all this volume! ;) Also, my smaller left foot (27,5cm) is a whole UK/US size smaller and happier that it doesn't get half a size even larger! Uneven pairs? Yes, I have in climbing shoes and my trail running shoes (Hoka Speedgoat 5 + Asics Fuji Lite 4) Shoes Like the Novablast 4 TR, Noosa Tri 15, GT-2000 10 etc I have in the larger size, so 290mm JPN.
I tried in store today, on my feet it feels like Novablast 4 are 0.5 size longer than Numbus 26, anyone else feels the same? I heard some people saying the exact opposite so I wonder what do most people think?
I have the Gel-Nimbus 26 and I LOVE the cushion. I have shin splints that I'm resolving so maximum cushion is necessary. I need to buy another pair. I run anywhere from 1.5-3 miles 4x a week. How does the Bondi 8 measure up against the novablast 4? I'm deciding on which one to buy
Hello I am a beginner and on a daily basis I run down the street for 4 to 5 kilometers at a pace of 5:47 minutes to 6:00 minutes per kilo with light aerobic exercise Would you recommend any shoes on a daily basis? Novapest 4 or Nimbus 26
With a thumb width in the toe box…what’s the real definition of True to size. My actual feet are measured at size 9 Uk but I could never actually fit comfortably in that size, let alone run in it. So my Gel Nimbus 25 and SUPERBLAST are a UK size 10.5, which gives me that thumb width in the toes box and feel nice on my feet so what’s true to size actually mean
I think true to size (tts) means true to your measured foot size! I have mid width feet (at the narrow end of mid) and they are low volume with a very low instep. Everything else is normal (arches, toes, etc) and healthy :) My right foot is excactly EU 45,5, whereas my left foot is something between EU 44 and 44,5. I have Asics runnig shoes in US 11,5, which is rounded UP EU 46. I would NEVER want the right shoe to be larger/bigger! From the feeling of above, my big toe is basically pretty much at the end of the shoe - there is no cm or a thumb width space, yet I always have the feeling of the shoe beeing too big! I also struggle to find running socks that don't become slippery within 30-45 min. I feel like i slide around inside the shoe, no matter how good i lock the laces down, also with lace lock (which feels very good initially). But I never experiance heel slippage. [[[ Probably I have this feeling because i am used to tight shoes because of rock climbing. THAT is what a secure lockdown means :) When I hear or read people saying they buy runing shoes i size larger than their foot size... I can just imagine what it must feel like to swim around in boats! Maybe they have wider feet and the wrong model? I know this with climbing shoes: There are people out there with wide feet and a narrow climbing shoe and then taking them 2 whole sizes largere than that model should be. I mean, hello!? Probably take a quick look at your feet and then onto the shoe: realize something? ;) ]]] Anyway: some reviewers said that they took the Asics Superblast 0,5 numbers smaller than their usual Asics running shoe size (and all the other asics running shoes they say it fits true to size for THEM), so... I have them right here: in US 11 (rounded DOWN 45) and on their way to me (but somewhere lost at the moment) in US 11,5 (rounded UP EU 46). My larger right foot is EU 45,5. Should I keep them in US 11 / EU 45? I would also be able to get a EU 44 (ran only once) for a very good price to put on my left foot. Or don't bother with 2 pairs and just go for the US 11 / EU 45 I have here right now? With the lace lock, my shorter left foot feels ok - I don't know about the have size larger pair of US 11,5 / EU 46 though. I mean, with time, EVERY shoe stretches a bit, that is inevitable. Therefore: Should I choose the uneven pair of US 10 / US 11 aka EU 44 / EU 45 of the Superblast for my 44-44,5 / 45,5 left / right foot? I mean, the Superblast should last me ages! I'm an inconsistent (not) runner with 90kg, 5:10 min/km paces on my good days for up to 1 hour (right now more like under 5:30 min/km for 7 km, then up to 6 min/km for another 9km if i have to). I used to run in GT2000 (v6 and v9. The new v12 model is hard as a brick!) and older Gel-Fujitrabuco for trails. Now I have a Novablast 4 TR in US 11,5 / (rounded UP) EU 46 and also a Noosa Tri 15 in US 11,5 / EU 46.
Great comparison! I've ended up with the superblast, novablast 4 and now the nimbus 26. Unsure how I'm going to use all 3 in the weekly rotation as there's some overlap in the NV and nimbus also NV and SB

When you say “run fast” what does that mean? 4:03 A personal fastest speed? Or an excellent runners fast speed? Like can a slower runner still run their fastest in these? Meaning, do these shoes have a max miles per hour anyone can go? If so? What is it? Because that may be my fastest I go, and these might be great for running fast for me actually. Or does everyone still need to get a separate fast running shoe too. Thanks.

Novablast 4 better for slower plus longer runs, boston 12 better for faster runs. They can overlap but do the things I mentioned better.

Which is more stable?
When you say “run fast” what does that mean? 4:03
A personal fastest speed? Or an excellent runners fast speed?
Like can a slower runner still run their fastest in these? Meaning, do these shoes have a max miles per hour anyone can go? If so? What is it? Because that may be my fastest I go, and these might be great for running fast for me actually. Or does everyone still need to get a separate fast running shoe too. Thanks.
Personal…you can only run your own speeds ;). Unless you are an elite runner…
@@patiogreen9738 That is not what I was asking. This reply was unnecessary and rude.
@@melissas717 I think it’s pretty self explanatory, what exactly were you asking then?
@@patiogreen9738 umm. No. Please go away if you insist on being rude and unhelpful.
@@melissas717 ooookay. Good luck to you.
running with a different shoe on each side...will that cause injury
Superblast goat
The nimbus is very comfortable but if your goal is race, then it won’t do good. I switched my gel nimbus 25 for a cloudsurfer to get more speed.
im wearing uk9 adidas and uk8.5 nike. should i go uk8.5 for asics nb4?
After watching this video I've decided to go for Saucony ride 17😊
This or that for daily full day wear just walking. No running whatsoever
