      L!nZ Ignorant, yes, but privelidged, I’d say probably not. They seem like they’ve had a sheltered and brainwashed childhood. That doesn’t seem privelidged to me.
      Also, people’s idea that people what were born into privelidged circumstances can’t be good understanding people is quite closed minded. Just because someone’s family is rich, doesn’t mean other hardships aren’t present. Money doesn’t actually bring happiness. Why are most celebrities depressed af. Watch Billie Eilish’s new Vanity Fair One Year Later Interview. She literally talks about how depressed all the big artists are. Money can often bring distrust and isolation. It doesn’t bring you real friends and healthy relationships and make you free from all the horrors that life can bring. I hope you understand what I’m trying to say

      @aoife_ 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I'm a Christian but this video really resonated with me. It is toxic and damaging to tell women that their purpose in life is to find a husband, have children, and teach other women to find their worth in those two pursuits. In reality, women in the Bible are celebrated for a variety of reasons and not all of them were married or had children!!!! If these girls are going to promote 'Christian values' they should at least know what they are talking about.

    • @KylaJames
      @KylaJames 5 ปีที่แล้ว +76

      agreed. back in the day homemaking wasnt valued that much, women just werent valued back then. We were silenced and told we were not able to work, vote, etc. Women didnt have the OPTION to work and live on their own. No workplaces way back when would have hired a woman. We have come so far since those days, why wouldnt we want to take advantage of the opportunities we now have, and create new opportunities for our future generations of girls. Theres nothing wrong with women who do want to be homemakers, But the reason they're doing that has to be a product of their own choice.

    I think it's important to also mention that the whole 'men should be the bread winners and women need to be homemakers' mindset is just purely not economically feasible in this day and age. The one income household is nearly a thing of the past and most families NEED more than one person working in order to sustain themselves. I get that Christians usually try to promote a really modest lifestyle, but at this point they're borderline encouraging poverty and that's just not healthy.

    Wait, so they're saying women can't go out and have jobs? Umm, did they learn about WW2 in school? Women took up male jobs so the country (I'm talking about England here) wouldn't crash and so no one starved. Women went out to fight for equal rights after the war so they could get jobs the same as men, because they felt empowered by what they did in WW2 and wanted to continue. We fought for the right to vote for our country, men didn't do it for us. If men had it their way back then, I doubt they would've let that happen, but it still happened. I'm sorry, but Girl Defined... This ain't it. 😒

    • @ninkiminjaj9496
      @ninkiminjaj9496 5 ปีที่แล้ว +37

      u dont have to read this cuz it is long LOL, but i rlly wanted to put this out there as a couple examples of what i mean: for the verses about wives submitting to their husbands, the original word in that language which many translated as "sumbit" was actually synonymous to "love and support", and the very next verse tells men to love their wives, so it is literally just saying "love and support each other". and anytime it refers to a woman as "helper", it uses the same word used to describe how God is a helper to humanity. WHICH OBVIOUSLY DOES NOT IMPLY SUBORDINATION BUT A SENSE OF NECESSITY. the point is that we need women. just like humanity needs God. women are literally described with the same adjective used to describe GOD HIMSELF (men could never LOL). but even if ppl dont believe in God or in any of this, that does not mean they are any less valuable or any less of a human being. phew now that that's over with, enjoy ur day

You cannot apply that shit nowadays. Women were treated like shit, they were just walking wombs and kitchens. Women weren't even allowed to (/it wasn't accepted) wear trousers until very recently. It's how it's always been in the past, which is when those texts were written. Hell, you don't even get to read all of them in the bible because THE CHURCH chose which ones they liked the best to suit their propagandistic purposes. God didn't do shit. Feminism is a range of political movements, ideologies, and social movements that share a common goal: to define, establish, and achieve political, economic, personal, and social equality of sexes.[1][2] This includes seeking to establish educational and professional opportunities for women that are equal to those for men.
      Maybe things have changed but not the overall goal. And no, I don't agree with every fiminist or there way of talking.. Just like I don't agree with every person on this earth. I hate the idea that if you do something good that religion values then it's god working through you and if you do something that religion doesn't value then the devil is manipulating you. I think that mentality is toxic and allows people to completely separate themselves from any blame or responsibility of their own actions. I do also criticize the fact that they're shaming others when others are just doing what makes them happy and aren't hurting anyone. We respect your decisions to live how you want to live so don't disrespect ours. We aren't doing anything to hurt anyone, I can dress and do and act and live how I want and it's not a problem.

    Im pro choice because i believe that women should be able to choose if they want to have children or not. Its their body, they are the ones that have to live with a child, or go through the process of being pregnant. But I would never have an abortion. Because I believe that my beliefs shouldn't interfere with other people's lives.

      I honestly agree with that I would never have an abortion but if someone else could live with themselves after doing that then let them do it. I simply don't agree with my tax dollars paying for abortion, I shouldn't have to pay money to a government that's going to give my money to something I very much disagree with.

    Where are they getting all these “toxic feminist” ideas from anyway. The only place I’ve seen them is the internet and even then most of the time they’re being sarcastic.

    They definitely come off as women who will willingly throw other women under the bus, because they were taught that male approval is the key to being happy.
    I really hope they live happy lives. Because I don’t want to think about what will happen if life doesn’t pan out the way they thought it was supposed to. They might snap and murder someone.

      It gets worse the older they get - they are masking their own issue by judging and blaming other people if their life get shitty. Even if it is obviously the man's fault, they victim-blaming all women to hell and back. And literally doormating themselves for men's approval. You do you, but dammit bethany have respect for your own damn self, not every women out there are trying to back stab you and stealing your man.

  • @heyrosiebee
    @heyrosiebee 5 ปีที่แล้ว +29

    i disagree with everyone saying that the way Bethany and whatsherface live their lives doesn't affect others. their videos aren't vlogs in which they share their lives. they're made for the clear purpose of influencing others. in countless videos, they outright say that "doing this is a sin" or that "ladies we shouldn't be like this". imagine all the young women watching and following their content feeling that when they or other women get sexually assaulted or abused, it's their fault (re: their video on modesty). that they don't have any right to leave their abusive partners (re: their videos on marriage and the husband-wife power dynamic). that same-sex marriage shouldn't be a thing. that such normal things such as liking boys/girls and wearing makeup could be sinful.
    they're clearly not just sharing their lives--they're preaching a certain lifestyle for women as The Ultimate one.

    it's asinine that these grown 30 year old adult women would try to preach to a presumably young audience that feminism is bad. young, easily influenced kids could see those videos. why you would want to limit a child and teach them to keep a closed mind is so beyond me.
