So shameful, Uganda and it's railway would be great, ahead but due to some group of like 5 people who embezzle government funds, corruption and monopolise businesses. Turkish investors wanted to construct for us high tech metro train but that mafia group was a problem
Thx for the nice video. My worry is that the railway lines are likely to buckle easily. The foundation seems not to be done well. They are supposed to be lied on ballasts (2-4meters) deep
There is a video I made about what you need to know about the SGR, it has the details but in short the SGR will start from Malaba to Kampala but the government says it will take 24 months from Malaba to Kampala but they had to firt renovate the old ones so that when they start the construction of the SGR the trains won't find any problem in the transportation
😢Its sad that a big economy like kenya did not use the same upgrade of MGR like its being done in UG..the kenya army did a shody job and to make it worse the didnt finnish the shody work they did ..yet it consumed millions.. corruption in Kenya is national disaster.
No, that the meter gauge railway. The standard gauge railway will be constructed from Malaba to Mukono where it will be joined to the meter gauge railway
I once travelled from Jinja railway station to Nairobi with my family. Why can't that passenger line be revived? It would bring a lot of economic development to the country as railway investment is a very secure and appealing means of transport. We should surely learn from our neighbours.
At first it was a Chinese company China road and bridge corporation but they failed and the contract was awarded to Yapi Merkezi a Turkish engineering company
@@nzepeteroug After COVID Chinese companies started struggling with funding issues, Nigeria also experienced the same setback on its Kaduna to Maradi Line. the said project was later handed to a Portuguese company Mota Engil. I believe other players in the construction sector have learnt from their previous mistakes of bypassing Africa. and we hope to see more Investment in major infrastructural projects in the coming years.
Wishing Uganda our neighbor all the best in this project to connect East Africa 🌍 one love 🇰🇪❤🇺🇬

Hopefully Uganda will connect its sgr line to Dar es salaam...because the same Turkiye company is doing wonders in Tanzania
What you need to know is that the East African countries signed an agreement so it will be crossing over
