I think the reason they snap the door handles off inside is so they can stay locked in the car if the police do catch them as they generally go for interior door handles if a window is down a bit before resorting to smashing the window. Means they can try and get away and stop the police opening the door which of course would unlock it.

My friends 2003 Chevy Suburban SUV was stolen but brought back within a week, all the windows, mirrors and lights were smashed and there was multiple gang signs spray painted on the exterior.

As to he rev counter (tach.). One failed though not completely in an 04 Honda Civic. Checking google on-line for "civic tach not reading correctly", I found a solution. It involved turning on and off the ignition switch quickly and the changing the display function a number of times which eventually led to the rev counter being reset. Perhaps there are some suggestions for your vehicle on-line also. Cheers from Aquidneck Island

I think the broken parts in the steering column were safety parts that "give" in an accident to help minimise injury to the driver from the wheel during a collision. You can probably pick the correct parts up cheap at a stealership.
My favorite shows..box set wise if you wanna laugh your ass off is Miranda. Holy crap. We can't get her series on dvd here in the US...which is highly irritating. So if you haven't watched Miranda...OMG are you in luck!
Can I just say, If I was closer, I'd be banging on your shutter door begging for a job, I get your art. However, the last box set I bought was The New Avengers from 1976 or whatnot, I didn't get it when I was small, but I do now.
I just noticed, when you removed the door panels, both the passenger and driver side speakers are ripped, the surrounds have gone rotten. Just a little suggestion, maybe replace your speakers, while your door panels are still off the car ;) Nice Astra by the way!

The sopranos, breaking bad, dexter are some really good shows ro check out. On the guages i had the same issue when i changed lighting in them they are adjustable, but you have to take them apart. Have fun, and keep up the great work
My 2nd Hand Car must have had a rear window broken before . But when I worked it out was when the carpets started getting wet . Turned out the drainage holes are blocked with glass and if I swung the door you can water sloshing around

I replaced a window on my sons Polo, I slammed the door a few times to loosen the glass that got stuck down in the join between the door skin
