I decided to play Pai Gow poker for the first time at the new Bristol Casino in Bristol, Virginia. Unfortunately, the dealer did not know the rules clearly. It took a floor manager to confirm that the dealer was making mistakes and didn't know the rules to her own game. Fortunately, I made a wager on an Ace Match side bet, which offset my losses when I one. Still, be sure that if you are playing this game that the dealer actually knows what she is doing!

I've been dealing poker for 12 years, but I'm brand new at table games, so if you don't mind, I just have a couple questions: - When rolling the dice, if the total sum is something like 13, or 17, do you just add-up 1+3 or 1+7 in order to know where to start? - The first player's hand was made up of a set of 4's + a pair of aces and I naïvely expected the full house to be his winning hand.. :-) What about hands like straight or flushes, for example, then ? Do they qualify, or is there a specific hand ranking in Paigow? As for the payouts, do you always just pay even?
