Different way to playing five stud poker. I learnt as a kid so probably didn't have all the rules then. Just discovering this site now. I am on security guard night shift and I have a star wars themed pack of cards and want to suss out some solo games while I am between patrols.
Theres a few ways to play this 52 Card variants Standard 52 Card Stud very similar to 7 card Stud. Soko Canadian Stud A-5 Lowball California style. Think Razz. Ace to 8 (Stripped deck) all cards below an 8 are taken out. Leaving only 8,9,10,J,Q,K,A. There's A-5 Versions and stripped deck A-8 version.
If u dont want to raise or dont have to call u can check if no one raised before your turn.i dont belive u have to double the bet to raise.i think that was just an example
Good question, I was wondering the same. From the comment above me seems like they are able to look at the face down card. Wish the video creator would have covered that.
@@michaelshackelford9624 I admit to being a dummy, that's why I watched the video, it was the hole card question "can you look at it"? common sense told me how would you know how to bet? BUT he didn't even mention the hole card after dealing. I had to come across the answer in the comments. Thanks for listening Michael, Linda
Thank you for the clear explanation of the game. Im new to poker and it seems every explanation i see is so unnecessarily convoluted.
Happy to help!
@@GatherTogetherGames I play it like you get all five cards and you got to bet to keep going
Only because I don't go into too much detail of playing
@@GatherTogetherGames This game is better if played short deck. 6s and up cards in the deck, more action.

1) What is the rationale for checking?
2) Do all raises have to be double?

Ngl I luv the vids resently
What’s the green chip on the middle, buy in?
Do you burn a card before each round of dealing? Also, websites say that you break ties by suit.
so no one gets to look at their hole card?
They ALL can look at their hole card to determine whether to bet, stay, or fold.

So no board ?? Interesting great video well explained
Is this what the movie "Cincinatti Kid" with Steve McQueen was portraying?
Never heard of those tie rules. Always played where suit ranking beats the ties.
We don’t play some cards down some up we do all five down
So Draw Poker then
@@Codynstef21 no we play stud but it all gets dealt out. The only time we do yo and down is in Chicago
Or five card with NO draw, only betting.
