Yeah I'm 8kyu and my observation has been above 17k no one pincers, 10-17k people always jump out. I suspect this is because they don't know the Joseki and don't like giving up even one stone. Plus if they want to trade a corner for thickness they will usually take the 3-3 directly instead of the approach variation. 8-10k people play the Joseki. Above that I don't know.
You mention other channels more suitable for double digit kyu players, can you suggest some? I don't usually understand a lot of your videos, but I still always have some sort of good take away from them. Keep up what you're doing.
New to go not sure my rating. My issue with trying to learn joseki is that my opponnent isn't using joseki (at least not joseki that I've seen) so my question is when my opponnent isn't playing optimally how do I use joseki in order to learn it?
I really appreciate all the instruction you give, and I'm fascinated by the content here, but I gotta say... this intro of "if you don't understand this, go to another channel". The ego and condescension are fully not necessary. It's arrogant and obnoxious and it's going to turn ppl off of what is otherwise solid content.
In Japanese, the plural would be joseki. But English grammar is such that (most) loanwords can be conjugated either with the normal rules of English or with the rules of the original language. In other words, when speaking English, it's grammatically acceptable to add an "s" to make it plural (though I think not "es"), and it's also acceptable to leave it out. I think it's probably wrong--or at least very non-standard--to capitalize it in either case, as written Japanese doesn't have an equivalent of capitals.
As an 11k, this was very useful. I've not much time for studying joseki or fuseki, so these types of videos are very useful. Thanks Nick.

I was there at the Go Congress with you and *am also* at home watching the video. Quick, I need to learn more before my match tomorrow! :)
im dyslexic and i legit thought this was "joseki for 1 kyus" until your second video came out...
Consider myself about 20 something kyu. Cool video, thanks. Please more stuff for double digit kyu players. ;)
This helps a lot, thanks! :)
(10kyu) I feel like 99% of the time when I pincer my opponent like that, they jump out >_
WHY DO THEY ALWAYS WANT TO MAKE IT SO COMPLICATED!!!
lol
(3kyu) I find the approach from the other side is most common.

Nick, the pedantic side of me cringes every time you say "josekis". At your level you should know the plural of Joseki is Joseki.
source?
Are you sure?
