I had the classic dungeon printed on banner vinyl at a local print shop. It came out amazing. I absolutely love the expanded play area. So much easier to place pieces.
Wow!! It looks amazing!! A new playmat is one of those things I was always craving for at some point (maybe after the game set?), but due to the size/cost it's hard to believe Avalon Hill will ever include one in some fufure expansion. These custom versions might be a great solution! Altough I am not certain the "square-less" corridors would work properly. It could be a bit confusing and lead to countless disputes between Zargon and the heroes 😆
While not quite decided if I’ll purchase this, I really appreciate the insight @AshQuest offers. I would be keen to see 3d walls included with perhaps hq produced roomS tile overlay or scatter terrain to really get a feel for the mat.
Loke makes flat dungeon dressing and terrain bits you can place on the board, they are of course 2D / flat (so I don't think I'll be getting them, I'm too biased towards 3D now...). I think they work like static clings, rather than just cardboard tiles.
When uploading to Inked Gaming, did you convert from pdf to jpg? What about any cut-off that Inked Gaming warns of? Did you have to adjust anything before having it printed?
A very cool alternate board. I don't think I'd use it, however. I have 3 alternate boards already, and they're all the exact wall width sizes of the base HQ board. Any future tile overlays will work well on my maps. Not so sure about this one.
I don't know about 3'x3' but that would be a sweet playmat, and then if you 0-3 at a ptq you can just try to pick up some players on the side for some Heroquest

Nice review! Is there any possibility of showing off more of these mats/maps product to show different layouts and suggestion of each layout?
Short answer yes! Although I may only be able to show my pdfs!
Appreciate the review and lynx

@@AshQuest Thanks for clarity I edited my comment to reflect that I lean toward 3d instead of cardboard [where feasible].
I find the lack of square spaces in the corridors disturbing...
(read again in Darth Vader voice for extra effect if applicable)
There are "squares", denoted by small white crosshairs
Awesome mat. Nice demo.
I'm looking for a mat NOT 3x3feet and with wall space.
These are just amazing!!
Thanks for the kind words 8-)

It was gifted to me - I'm unfortunately not sure what settings or options may have been used, or what to check for.
I'm trying to find the link. I looked on drivethrurpg, but couldn't find them.
It is in the description to this video, for your convenience!

fair enough, I'm not sure when I'll get to using them proper myself but it is very nice to have new maps on which to imagine and build scenarios out!
Cool
