Great video! You did an amazing job explaining the material as well as adding additional information such as tips that will make other’s attempts so much easier! Providing extra information and details in your video is refreshing and thoughtful. Many people, when making videos are not so … detail oriented, I suppose you could say. Please don’t get me wrong, there are many wonderful artists with awesome videos who will walk you through a project from start to finish! I am just saying that you went above and beyond, and exceeded all expectations in sharing and instruction in this video! WAY TO GO!
Thank you for this video. I am a wire wrapper and am seeking ways to learn how to metal smith/solder. Do you have a beginners guide video for what tools and necessary advice to start? Maybe something that talks about budgets and how much everything will cost? Thank you!
Super helpful and really appreciate all the tips! Would love to see more❤︎ Question: Doesn’t cutting the bezel with cuticle scissors remove the gold and expose the inside? Thank you : )
Yes it would! 🤔 I think the safest option would be to trim down the bottom of the bezel until the correct height for the stone is reached and then sand it smooth before soldering onto the backplate. If the bezel plate was still accidentally too high it'd be better to put something under the stone (a little bit of sheet metal or a circle of wire) to raise it up a bit 😋 Fantastic video though, extremely helpful!! 💖
😅 great question! I’m not sure if it’s true but I think keeping it separate helps silver jewelry pickle better? Sometimes if I mix different metals in my pickle I notice some pink spots on my silver jewelry.
I use a National Geographic rock tumbler with stainless steel shot. It’s made for kids but has worked wonderfully as a jewelry tumbler for more than 5 years!

What is the tool you use to lift up the bezel piece to when soldering the bezel onto the backplate?

Where can I get the apron you are wearing?
Hey! Why do you use a separate jar in your pickle for gold-filled?

Following. What tumbler do you use?

Thanks for this! There is very little about gold-filled soldering on TH-cam.
I will be messaging you on Instagram with specific questions!
Sure! I’ll keep an eye out for your message.
