I found a bottle of tart cherry juice concentrate at local store. Only ingredient is Cherries. An ounce of that added to carbonated water makes a great soda.

I just started using the soda stream with brewed tea (with a couple of disasters) and it's fantastic! Try slowly reducing the stevia, once you lose the taste for sweetness you really appreciate the different teas more!

How much water are you using and how many bags? Thinking I might try this and get off the energy drink mix. Between my son and I, we go through a lot of that syrup. I love the flavor and I wish it was caffeine free.

@@micheleb2558don't use bags, use whole leaf if you can. You get more variety and control of flavor with whole leaf.

Just made some today, I don't have a Sodastream, but I have club soda in the house. I made a big batch of that concentrated tea in a mason jar and chilled it and did the exact same steps with that club soda. It's fantastic, it's certainly an acquired taste but it's easy to sip on and enjoy. Thanks!

You are ABSOLUTELY correct. And many people may not agree, but mainly the attraction to soda is the carbonation (Even those who regularly drink a soda don't like flat soda). And by the way, I believe Houlahan's still exists. I just saw a place in San Francisco. I also have to comment on the Green Tea Soda. I believe that if you try it once, there is no 'learning to like it'. It's Great!! Keep on doing what you do. I enjoy your videos.

I do almost the same. I use a powdered green tea and make a concentrate (about 1/2 water, 1/2 powder) and store it in the fridge in a small squeeze bottle. I don't add it to the bottle--I add to a glass of carbonated water. I keep the carbonated water in the fridge, pour it in a glass, then squeeze in the tea concentrate. I also use a black tea concentrate. I don't add a sweetener but that's just my taste.
I saw carbonated tea in bottles in Europe. It seems popular. It's perfect when you want something carbonated with a sandwich but not something too sweet and don't want a beer at that meal.

Got off Mt Dew when I got my soda stream. I've been using the syrups you buy in the store, even though I know the aspartame is bad for me. I actually just bought produce to make my own favorite flavor mix of pomegranate and cucumber lime. But your enjoyment of this has convinced me to try green tea too. I use green tea when I make iced tea, can't see why I wouldn't enjoy it bubbly. I already use stevia in my coffee so have it on hand.

Just made a batch of this and it is quite nice! I wasn't sure how much water to use so I poured 1L of water of 10 tea bags. After a night in the fridge it looks like it further reduced. I'm sweetening with liquid sucralose. One addition that makes it even nicer: a packet of True Lemon. I added this to my water and then carbonated (I use a Drinkmate machine), then added the tea and sweetener.

Btw, the new soda streams at the store were $129, so I am excited I got such a good deal and now excited to try some green tea like this. G'day George! I know this vid has been around for a while, but I wanted to let you know I stumbled across it in my quest for atypical soda solutions. I just assembled a self-carbonation setup (5lb CO2 Tank, regulator, fittings for 2L connection) since Sodastream units are no longer available where I live, and I wanted to let you know I love this recipe. If you ever have a chance, my personal favorite is Diet Ginger-Orange soda, but this is a close second. I hope you are still well! Thanks again!

@@ChunkyMonkaayyy - It's more like $320-$350 startup cost in mid-2020. Unless you have access to a bunch of cheap or free used parts, that's what the material cost is. I just built a basic carbonation rig a week ago and kept track of every dime I spent. I didn't count the value of my time and labor, which would have added hundreds of dollars to the project.

@@ChunkyMonkaayyy - I wasn't aware of any kits, but it is possible that kit vendors can achieve economies of scale by buying components by the hundreds or thousands, while I was buying all the parts in ones and twos and not getting any volume price breaks.
