They had really nice American version for curvy brides and the owner is a great, helpful chic who just wants the brides to feel proud. I dont remember exact name of the boutique.
She needs a trip to Europe to see Jo and Al. This final dress was not flattering on her at all. She's a beautiful woman, they should have tried much harder to find her something within her price range and to properly accentuate the girls.
For my understanding when rhe bride agrees to be filmed, I thought Kleinfield is aware of brides size. One would think that they would make sure that there were gowns 34J
@@mariaedwards6371 You are making total sense to me. I get that the purpose of the store is to sell dresses, but I would truly love to see one of the bridal consultants recommend that a hard-to-fit bride get a custom dress made. Considering the money they spent on the dress this bride chose, I am thinking she could have had an amazing dress made for a significantly smaller amount.
I’m thinking that bridal stores should stop thinking that small body shapes are the only ones that get married or go dress shopping. All sizes and shapes should feel welcome and accommodated at a shop. Everyone deserves to feel pampered and beautiful. It’s just ridiculous that they don’t carry more sample sizes in wider ranges…
Jo and Al don't have the shop anymore, I do believe. If they do, it hasn't been mentioned---Al had a gastric bypass a couple years ago, lost a huge amount of weight (and looks amazing!), and then they had a show about housecleaning, but it lasted only a few episodes.
At $5000 budget I would go get a custom made dress. That way you get to choose the fabric, style and bling. I’m sure they could have found a dress maker that could make something wonderful for her. Disappointed in Kleinfelds for not having something for her.
Or that Randy wasn't upfront with the bride that thry simply didn't have in her size, and recommended a more suitable bridal shop that carries gowns for women with larger bodies, or a custom designer (and losing a sale), instead of cramming her into a much more expensive Pnina Tornai dress that has little bodice structure (no corset) and is the wrong shape for her. I'm surprised Pnina didn't pop out of a closet, like she has in other episodes, to have her ego stroked by "adoring fans" & staff, as she gushes ahout her own designs. BTW, I'm a llus-sized woman, with a 40G bust, and there's no way the bride has a 34 bra band. She seems to be 42 or up.
I feel like she and the family just settled for a dress. Am I the only one who thinks she could have gotten a more suitable dress elsewhere with that money?
As a bridal stylist, I'm sorry to say that was totally the wrong dress for her. It was too fitted for her body. They just talked her into purchasing something that is definitely not suitable for her.
I feel like there are so many better dresses for her! Why not get her a dress in a bigger size and spend the money tailoring it to fit her. It would have been cheaper.
If she is huge busted, there needs to be support for "the girls". In addition, as she is thick around the waist, a mermaid style is a poor choice. I'd have loved to see her in something that enhanced her good points and kind of smoothed out things that might detract.
SERIOUSLY why did they keep putting her in mermaid gowns? she looked like a tube of toothpaste! surely there's a designer in that store that has a corset-back A-line with straps that can open the cup to a 34J.
Maybe her family won't allow her to wear a waist trainer..... all IT addresses they put on her I just kept looking at her middle section not her breast.
I don't think they could have chosen a more unsuitable design style of dress for her. Any other style of wedding dress, other than the style they put in her in, would have suited her better. So sad that Kleinfeld's really dropped the ball on this one.
My brother went to school with a girl who had massive breasts. Even though she was otherwise slender and in shape, her breasts were huge and heavy. They actually had someone make special bras for her, etc. She heard every joke in the book and none were funny. For her high school graduation, she asked her parents and grandparents for money for a reduction. She had been saving for one as well. Now, it happened that the parents had a wise and sympathetic doctor and he wrote up the emotional impact, the expense of everything custom made, to say nothing of the constant back pain and the inability to do normal activities like play soccer or softball, despite Lori being athletic. Insurance covered a good bit of her operation and she was like a new person! She went out, did fun things, could tie her shoes without her huge breasts being in her way, seat belts fit her, etc. I will say that this young woman had the right idea though - she had things custom made for her. I think this particular bride would have looked beyond gorgeous in a Grecian style, flowing, elegant dress. Also, a princess style, as others have mentioned, would look lovely. All that money and an ill-fitting dress that looks tacky. :-(
I have big boobs and I know how heavy they can get. What more with bigger boobs. Big boobs can be such a hassle so when I see women having breast enlargement, I just shake my head. As you grow old, they will also sag a lot more. You can't go against gravity.
I agree with you, Grecian would have looked fabulous on her. Why do these people persist on putting large busted women into strapless. A full bust is heavy and needs straps to lift you and give you shape
@@whatevergoesforme5129 I got tired of not getting clothes that fit. Insurance will cover it because its not cosmetic.. its reconstruction that's medically necessary. Best of luck to you!
I am a 75f, trust me, the bust shame is far from subtle in bridal 🤣 last year I got to shop around for my wedding gown - apart from the fact that most shops carry size 36 (I guess around 6 US) only, the boob situation was a nightmare. I tried around 30 dresses, maybe 2 or 3 zipped up, and they looked horrible because they are not meant for curves. The overall attitude was like if my boob size was my fault somehow, and I ruined their day by showing up. One of the worst experiences in my life. I already have enough isiues finding regular clothes, I didn't need to be judged while also spending a shitload of money on a dress that is supposed to fit me, not the other way around.
Don't go there if you are a larger lady, they can't cater for you. Squishing you into the wrong shape dress is not respectful. Need Jo and Al on this one.
This was before Jo and Al existed. Before plus size bridal existed. So even if she flew to Essex, it wouldn't have helped. And why do you possibly think that Jo and Al are the only plus size bridal in the world? Oh, that's right. They were on TV. That equals reality to you. FYI, once plus size bridal was born, salons cropped up all over the US, too. Besides, the bride wanted this style of dress. Jo and Al would tell her no like they did on one occasion. How would that be better? She wants this style. And if you think that the dresses in Jo and Al's shop are cheap, think again. There is a reason they never discuss money.
I don't think J and A are in business anymore; Al had a gastric bypass a few years ago, lost a lot of weight (looks amazing now!) and the two of them had a show about housecleaning that lasted only a couple of episodes. Maybe they have the shop still, but are just no longer on tv...?
This episode is really old. Look at Randy's hair - no grey. The whole bridal world was different then. Jo and Al didn't exist because the dresses didn't exist. Once large size bridal was a thing, salons started appearing all over, not just in Essex. IDK why you possibly think that Jo and Al have been the only large size salons on the world. If a small country like England can have a store like that, wouldn't you think a large country like the US have one as well? Logic completely fails you because you think that TV is real life.
Nothing wrong with the bride and everything wrong with the shop. And instead of owning up that their shop has subpar selection that doesn’t consider all ranges of bodies they decided to shame the bride and suggest reduction.
@@petc8504 yes, Randy was totally wrong and unprofessional for his lack of compassion for that bride. She was beautiful and put her in a 8500 dress that didn't fit her right and was over budget. I would never go 2 that bridal salon. Remember, Jo also said call the salon and ask what's the highest size they carry for plus size
I AGREE this episode was a disappointment i feel like the crew made her feel so uncomfortable and the family for gain the budget and in front of the bride
I don't know how to say it without sou ding mean, but her bust isn't her only problem! That type of dress just makes her whole upper body look huge and just not flattering at all! She's just too big of a girl period for that style. She needs more of a ball gown style or anything else!
Despite what theyre saying, its actually not that big of deal for companies to make a bigger bust size. Every dress is made to order, it would actually only cost a couple 100 to fix the issue. There is no reason that theyre putting her in shitty dresses.
@@amandamiller7728 That’s interesting information, than you. I don’t know anything about sewing. I’ll bet there’d be a much greater charge than two, or even three hundred dollars.
@@amandamiller7728Not every designer is willing to do major changes and this isn’t a simple change. They have to alter the bust size five times larger. That’s not going to be $200 extra lol.
Like "Haute and Co" in Chicago! Gowns are meant for, and designed and altered for, large women. Owned by a large woman, so she knows what the brides are looking for, too.
I’m very surprised with most US women being bigger sizes that they don’t offer more to accommodate plus they are not putting her in dresses flattering to her figure
Merric, no it's not. Kleinfelds doesn't seem to want to sell to anyone bigger than a 12, or carry designers that will design for larger sizes. They also only have expensive designers, not mid priced ones..
This shop caters only to sizes 2, 4, 6 absolutely nothing for a more voluptuous body and they need to change that because it is body shaming in a way, as if everyone is the tiny size. Silhouette is most important and all should be tried on. No everyone will fit the same shape. Too bad the Gown makers don’t, can’t or won’t accommodate these brides to prevent the embarrassment.
This was a disastrous choice; this beautiful young woman needed a more equipped salon that could specialize in this size issue. I can only imagine what our UK counterparts could have done for this lovely bride. She accepted what she felt was her only option. There is no excuse for Kleinfeld’s not admitting their inability to do right by her.
This is a super old episode, from maybe 2003 or so. Before large size bridal existed. Jo and Al in the UK were just a glimmer in Essex's mind at this time.
@anniemarie2044 So tell this to all the commenters who say that she "should have gone to Jo and Al" and that they would never put her in a dress like that. One can't live on the same world where the bride gets to wear what she wants and that Jo and Al would CORRECTLY only let her try on dresses that made her shape look better. Those are completely opposites.
When the mom said "why do you keep going up when we gave you a budget?" is so spot on. They just laughed... I can't imagine $5000 couldn't get her a dress...
I usually like the US version of SYTTD but this episode is actually ridiculous. I got my wedding dress in the UK for £1500 with absolutely no changes for the support of my chest, and I am significantly larger in the bust area than this lady. After a quick Google, her US size converts to a UK 34GG. How does America not have dresses for big busted people?! My dress needed no extra support added into it and does not even have a corset in it either. It makes me think that dress styles in America are very limited......
My dress had to support UK 30GG. I had no problem getting that in Canada for under 2K. Eta: the small city store had lots of size 16-20 samples and actually I could only try the sample closest to mine on in the plus size sister style.
It's that Kleinfelds that has a limited size range, not the US in general.. they don't really seem to want to sell dresses to those that are larger than a size 14. As well, they generally only carry designers that are on the more expensive side.
This bride would have been better off with Gok, or Jo and Al. I see body shaming of women, of all shapes and sizes. I've worked in retail, I can tell you the majority of designers will only design for a unrealistic body types. If you're a woman with hips, thighs, butt, and breasts C cup or bigger the clothing will cost more. Then there's the petite ladies who's cup size is smaller than a A-cup. Add a women who falls in between sizes. All of whom end up either taking what they purchased to be tailored, or do the tailoring themselves. That costs women both time and more money.
I have a friend from college who went to school to become a fashion designer for those who can’t buy clothes off the rack. She is a little person, achondroplasia at 4’8” tall. But at that time she had breasts that could easily rival Dolly Parton. And she was getting married. Imagine finding a dress to fit a busty shorter stature woman. Luckily she had the skills to make her own dress. It still costed her over $2,000 for the material, boning, lining… etc. I’d hate to imagine what it would’ve cost her to have someone else make the dress.
Sorry, but Lancashire does not have dresses to fit a 34j either. Why do you think that Gok is magic? And Jo and Al's store does not automatically have dresses to fit that cup size either. No store that I know of has sample dresses with that cup size. Designers wouldn't make samples to fit her, considering that is such an unusual size. And perhaps the bride only wants mermaid dresses. It seems likely, because the consultant only pulled dresses with that silhouette. If that is the case, the BRIDE decided that these dresses were the ones she liked. Then Gok, Jo, Al, or God himself would not be able to find a dress shape that was better for her.
To me, it just looked like she was wearing a dress made from toilet paper. She truly would have been better off getting something custom made. Even if it was a little more than the budget, she deserves something more flattering than any of these "choices".
I definitely wouldn't have gone strapless with that size cup. Unless it's got steel reinforcement instead of boning she's gona be tugging at that all day to keep those girls in line. I think a style like a fit and flare could have balanced the top and bottom a lot better as well so she doesn't look like she's going to tip over. Having had G cups before my reduction and a similar figure to hers I don't feel like I'm being critical just to be critical. I understand the struggle she's going through because I went through it too.
I agree, going strapless, with her sized breasts just doesn't make any sense. She will be having to constantly pull it up, throughout the whole wedding.
Having larger breasts myself, I can honestly say that straps are not always the way to go either. They can be more of a hinderance than a help and they can make your back hurt like hell more so than a strapless one.
you are having bride with heavy top and you are giving her options of strapless dress.... great 🙌 hand down... what else will i say... even we, who watch say yes to the dress knows that she need dress with straps... and may be in shape of A line... really disappointed.... 😓 sorry girl, you are truly beautiful but you gone to wrong place.... go to jo & al or even gok would have help you with customise dress with your budget... 5000k is really great budget...
They don't carry mermaid dresses. And that is the style this bride wanted. So that trip across the pond to Essex would have been completely wasted. Did you not watch the video?
Oh my God I remember watching this with my mom when I was back in high school . this is my mom‘s least favorite episode I wish I would have found out like after they fix the dress how much better did it look on her
This was the wrong shop for her in my opinion, there was no reason for her to have to spend $8500. She needed to go somewhere with a robust plus size collection so she could try samples with a larger cup size. Also if she wanted a fitted dress she needed a more mermaidy silhouette to balance out her bust line. Putting her in sheath and fit and flare was making her look more top heavy. She is a gorgeous bride and if she loves the dress I’m happy for her but I just can’t help but feel she deserved better.
You're right on all points. Not yo mention the grand or more yo do the alterations - it's a Pnina & she's not cheap (though many of her skimpy, "lingerie" gowns are, IMO).
Having been that large myself (44 M), I can tell you that a breast reduction is needed. No amount of weight loss will shrink those girls to a reasonable size.😔 Decent support bras are pretty much nonexistent for them, too.
$8500 PLUS the cost of modifications. In addition to Al & Jo there is a plus size bridal salon in Chicago called " Haute & Co.™ Bridal Boutique" They help a lot of curvy gals too.
In addition to the shops that you listed that are on TV there's a whole world of shops around. Just because they're not on TV doesn't mean they don't exist. And this episode was filmed before plus size bridal was a thing. "Big Bliss" was filmed in 2003-2004. Bridal changes really fast.
I love that the family didn't hesitate to put Randy in his place. His comments are just too much sometimes. He rather body shame a woman, instead of accepting the fact that the shop is not as size inclusive as they pretend. I feel like Gok, Jo and Al would have find the perfect dress for her body type and would have stayed within budget.
What's the matter with the truth? The type of dress that she wanted at the time (c 2003) had B cups because the designers made them that way. The family actually "shamed" her more than Randy ever did. Little Bo Peep? He told them the truth about what they had in the store. A J cup is very, very unusual. For bridal to accommodate that means pattern changes, and that would go way over budget. No matter what Randy did. If the truth hurts, it's not the truth's fault.
Her family is so ugh (idk the word I’m looking for lol) but I agree I didn’t like the first two dresses. I like the third dress! I wish the dress did a little more for her shape (edit: if she’s gonna wear a mermaid I would wear a corset/waist trainer. Nothing wrong with her shape but the dress didn’t really do anything for her) but other than it’s beautiful! The bride is beautiful as well!
This episode triggered me on many levels...the most being that designers have nothing in sample sizes for bigger girls, at least US designers. Curvy Girls Boutique in the UK would help this sweet girl.
When I was a bride they had to take a 22 dress size and make it into a 10. That’s how one gets the 34-O to fit. Also, put mesh with lace and crystals up to the neck to keep the bodice in place. Not easy when they are naturals and one doesn’t want to show them off. Moreover, a Princess style looks a lot better than a fitted! This dress made her look off balanced.
We have big breasts in my family. My mother, sister, and I all opted for a V neck dress. It's much more flattering than the sweetheart neckline. I sewed my niece's wedding gown and she also wanted a V neck. I made a mock-up of the bodice and had her put on a well supporting bra underneath. I then traced the outline of the bra straps on the mock up and drafted the bodice so she could wear a well fitting bra and not worry about the gown having to support both the dress and the girls. A custom made gown would have been a much better option for this bride.
I didn't like the outcome of this episode. They just focused on fitting her large bust, but ignored the rest of her body. That overpriced mess of a dress didn't do justice to this plus size lady. The bride should have invested her money on an originally designed custom-made gown. Obviously, Kleinfeld is no panacea to all brides' wishes and needs.
I wish the young lady would have try a Aline style wedding dress I think it would be a very nice look and straps for support for the girls would also be helpful as well.
Me too. I think it would have made her bust look smaller in comparison. And an a line can be sexy too. She was so preoccupied with the mermaid silhouette that she didn't even see how good an a line would have looked on her. But at least she was happy with her choice.
I have 1 word - mermaid. She only tried on mermaids. Did you not notice? Jo and Al not only don't carry those but purposefully try to change the bride's mind about mermaids. This bride found the dress she loved. At Kleinfeld. So why are you pushing some other salon on her? Why do YOU have to like her dress for it to be a success?
I love the father daughter relationship, however I believe that a mermaid or form fitting dress accentuates her body. She bulges out everywhere in the dress she thinks is right for her She needs an A- line style dress. She is a beautiful woman and I think I would have booked fitting with Auntie Gok. He is the best and makes you feel amazing.
She already felt amazing. She wanted a mermaid silhouette. Unless you want Gok to go against the wishes of the bride... You don't like the dress. Fine. But you're not the bride. How many videos do we see where people complain that the entourage or consultants weren't supportive of the bride's vision? Gok was not needed. She didn't need therapy for any reason. And you have ignored that this episode is extremely old, before plus size bridal was a thing. If she flew to the UK, Jo and Al would not be there. Gok (who doesn't really work at that store) wouldn't be there. And if you think that the right consultant pulls dresses that the bride wants, they would have given her the same type of dress.
I remember when this episode came out. I thought she could have had a custom gown made to fit her body type. She should have gone for an A line or something more flowing from the waist. For $8,500 she could have had a custom gown.
Why on earth would they insist on trying strapless dresses on such a busty woman? Whatever happened to straps, people? No matter if it was the bride's "vision" , a talented consultant like Randy should convince her that her figure looked way better in a dress with more support instead of trying to find the most expensive designer that could carry a big enough cup size. So disappointing to watch.
Yeah you're right they needed to put something to support them babies that she had she don't need to be in a strapless you know it might look cute but she's going to need some support
Plus size bridal wasn't a thing when this episode was filmed. A few designers would make dresses for larger sizes, but not anywhere near the way it is now. Just because you see a video today, it doesn't mean it was filmed today.
They weren’t listening when he told them her size would cost more. Any dress she buys is a lot more money. Mom and dad should step up an up the budget. Maybe even get it made!
She wanted this shape. They put her in a dress she loved. Why do you not approve? Was it your wedding? And Jo and Al cannot magically change her mind to want a dress that is more flattering (I agree that mermaid is not it for her). I don't understand why some of you people expect Gok or Jo/Al to be miracle workers. This dress had to be couture so she can get her bust fixed. It also had to be mermaid because that is what the bride wanted. Jo/Al/Gok do NOT have Pnina Toenail dresses. That is what the bride wanted. Period.
I love everybody in the comments just saying they should have gone to Jo and Al. 😂🤣😂 They really got us spoiled with consultations the stay in budget and make brides comfortable. They really are saints
We don't know if they stay in budget. Their episodes never mention money. And this bride didn't need therapy about her body, so Jo and Al were unnecessary. Besides the fact that Jo and Al (and plus size bridal) didn't exist when this episode was filmed and all.
The hosts were so awful to her! Absolutely unacceptable to suggest that a human being must be surgically altered to fit a dress-and to say it to her father, in front of her, just to get him to pay even more thousands of dollars for a fitting dress instead? Unreal.
Yes, Jo and Al would be fab, but with the cost of airfare, she could have a tailor made dress. That being said, the dress being $8500.00, I don't believe that includes alterations. She probably should have had the dress tailor made.
Did you watch another video? THIS bride wanted mermaid. Jo and Al don't like mermaids, they don't carry mermaids, and they talk brides wanting mermaids OUT OF wanting mermaids. This bride only wanted mermaid. Unless you think that Jo and Al are magic or something.
OOOOh Kay! how disrespectful is this show? Randy did not need to comment on how this was the largest chest he has ever had come in. This is NOT the place for curvy brides and shame on Nina tornado's awful gowns over priced this show is just an advertisement for her nonsense.
I think it would have been better for all involved if they had just been up front and informed the bride they could not accommodate her requirements. This dress was not for her. It did not do her justice in any way shape or form. I've seen so many beautiful dresses on the UK version for large women. It would have been more cost effective if they had made the trip to the UK to get a dress.
Say Yes to the Dress should have flown Jo and Al in with some dresses for her. She would have looked amazing in an empire waist with some shimmer and bling, and something that's not gripping her belly! Generally girls with belly don't look good in fit and flares or dresses with pickups. If this dress came in at her natural waist and the got rid of that pickup on the side....WINNER! She's a sweet, beautiful girl, and her family and friends are very loving and supportive. I just wish they had a dress there that was right for her so she didn't have to settle for one only because it fit. TLC, please give this young lady a do over. She deserves to look amazing on her wedding day.
I hope you did some alterations, covering the bust or adding straps, so she'll be looking fabulous and appropriate! I agree with comment about UK version which SPECIALIZE in fuller bust/dress sizes. For that price she shouldn't have to"settle"!!!!
I don't know Randy didn't suggest to put the bride in an A-line dress. It would have given the girls much support and accentuated her figure.. Randy, you have disappointed me on this one which you have never done this before.. You couldn't even suggest what would look good on her body.
Why don’t these American bridal shops cater for bigger sizes ? They keep saying they only carry small model sizes ? Why ? We have shops here in England that cater for bigger girls especially, and they don’t get pushed into having to buy dresses that need to be altered at double the price ?
Sorry,I'm in sympathy with her,as I'm built like that too,but if yr that busty you should choose something with shoulder straps. It would be far more flattering for her.
The UK version for bigger sized brides would have found her a fantastic dress!

Ugh- so much cringe. No woman wants to feel bigger than she is. Once again reminded how much better Jo, Al and Gok are in treating brides as people
Because Jo and Al offer dresses that are corseted and made for curvy women. Sample size starting with B cup??
Couldn't agree more
Totally agree. Gok, AL & Jo would have found a dream
The way the bridal assistant was like “get in there!” For the first dress was so rude

Remember, they will measure the bride for right fit to order. The gown she tried on was for trying on only.
I had a breast reduction in 2007. Best decision I ever made!
I don't appreciate the subtle shaming of her bust size😔
Subtle? I guess I missed the subtle part.
It wasn’t subtle at all. It was rude and crude and very inappropriate.
About as subtle as a brick to the face 😜
The largest bust size they carry is a DD, like what the hell?
They should've gone to Jo and Al for sure. I love her dad tho! He's so funny. I bet he's an excellent preacher
I don't think J and A are in business anymore; Al had a gastric bypass a few years ago, lost a lot of weight (looks amazing now!) and the two of them had a show about housecleaning that lasted only a couple of episodes. Maybe they have the shop still, but are just no longer on tv...?
There was a black lady in the USA that catered 4 plus size brides. Can't remember the name of the store though or where in the USA it was
This episode is really old.
Jo and Al would’ve done way better🧐🤭
I think they don't have an exclusive plus size american boutique like in the UK.
agree with you
Go see Jo and Al for sure!!
I was thinking the same thing. Jo and Al need to open stores in USA . They do so much better for Plus size ladies than any other stores I have seen.
Yes and without mentioning money in such an in your face way.
She needed a support garment to try on dresses. Something to cinch the waist, smooth the hips and support the bust.
An A line bra is what this bride needed.
Exactly!!
Nothing wrong with the bride and everything wrong with the shop.
And instead of owning up that their shop has subpar selection that doesn’t consider all ranges of bodies they decided to shame the bride and suggest reduction.
I was shocked at how rude Randy was, the family should just have up and gone elsewhere.
Completely agreed. This episode is an embarrassment. Entirely unprofessional and I'd never buy a dress there.
I AGREE this episode was a disappointment i feel like the crew made her feel so uncomfortable and the family for gain the budget and in front of the bride
@@petc8504They’re just going to have the same issues.
I don't know how to say it without sou ding mean, but her bust isn't her only problem! That type of dress just makes her whole upper body look huge and just not flattering at all! She's just too big of a girl period for that style. She needs more of a ball gown style or anything else!
For once I think the entourage is RIGHT for the criticism... they really didn't choose even remotely good dresses for her!
Her shape is not a mermaid shape lol
They wanted a look that is vastly more costly for a curvy bride.
For that much money they could have gotten a custom gown or gone to another location.💜
Like "Haute and Co" in Chicago! Gowns are meant for, and designed and altered for, large women. Owned by a large woman, so she knows what the brides are looking for, too.
@@jb6712 Yes, I forgot about their boutique. They do have lovely gowns.💜
I’m very surprised with most US women being bigger sizes that they don’t offer more to accommodate plus they are not putting her in dresses flattering to her figure
“most US women” is an exaggeration
Merric, no it's not. Kleinfelds doesn't seem to want to sell to anyone bigger than a 12, or carry designers that will design for larger sizes. They also only have expensive designers, not mid priced ones..
@@merricc6911 American women tend to be fatter/bigger/more overweight than women from other countries, so no.
OMG we (and curvy brides) need Jo and Al BAAACK!! We need them back so badly!
I cannot imagine them flying to England to visit their boutique
Money Money Money all there see is the dollar sign
This is a super old episode, from maybe 2003 or so. Before large size bridal existed. Jo and Al in the UK were just a glimmer in Essex's mind at this time.
A mermaid dress is not her shape of dress.
I so agree!
Agree!
fit'n'flair
@@coraline1503 I would say an a-line or ball gown would be best on her.
Agreed. That dress made her look unbalanced and lumpy.
You find a seamstress and you have one made. It’ll fit you perfectly and cost a fraction of that price.
She needs an A line dress
True but she might not have wanted that style, she is in denial of her overall shape.
And with straps to hold the dress up, in my opinion as a booby woman. Empire cut is also a nice way to make the silhouette more flattering.
Or probably a ball gown
@@donotsupportterroristgroups in denial? If she feels great in it, let her be.
Of course not for her size and requirements. She bought a Pnina dress.
They are much more expensive in the US. I wat h the other shows and am shocked what they can get.
My dress had to support UK 30GG. I had no problem getting that in Canada for under 2K. Eta: the small city store had lots of size 16-20 samples and actually I could only try the sample closest to mine on in the plus size sister style.
@@staceyotten5312 wow that's crazy. We are definitely lucky in the UK then!
@@kansmill It must just be America that is limiting then.
That first dress is ridiculous.. This lovely bride ought to go to England and the Curvy Bride's Boutique.
To me, it just looked like she was wearing a dress made from toilet paper. She truly would have been better off getting something custom made. Even if it was a little more than the budget, she deserves something more flattering than any of these "choices".
Curvy Brides do not have mermaids. She wanted a mermaid. Perhaps she would have wasted a trip then.
Gok would do such a better job with this beautiful bride to be!
They need to expand their collection.
As a big busted girl myself, she should have gotten a gown with straps that covered a well supporting bra. Could have had a gown custom made.
They should have simply declined servicing her and send her to Al&Jo or Gok. This was terrible .
you are having bride with heavy top and you are giving her options of strapless dress.... great 🙌 hand down... what else will i say... even we, who watch say yes to the dress knows that she need dress with straps... and may be in shape of A line... really disappointed.... 😓
sorry girl, you are truly beautiful but you gone to wrong place.... go to jo & al or even gok would have help you with customise dress with your budget... 5000k is really great budget...
I think, she is never a 34j. Sorry Randy!
Sweet girl you had to go in another bridalshop.
Not everyone can go to the UK.
Agreed
@@annagraser5088 If they had money to spend the 8500k USD pre alterations, they more than definitely could have budgeted that trip to the UK lol
Take that money, fly to Essex and go get yourself THE dress with Jo and Al, and spend the rest on holiday.
They don't carry mermaid dresses. And that is the style this bride wanted. So that trip across the pond to Essex would have been completely wasted. Did you not watch the video?
Oh my God I remember watching this with my mom when I was back in high school . this is my mom‘s least favorite episode I wish I would have found out like after they fix the dress how much better did it look on her
My least favorite for sure.
This was mostly an awkward appointment!!!
No amount of weight loss will shrink those girls to a reasonable size.😔 Decent support bras are pretty much nonexistent for them, too.
what is 44 M?
@@sunnylucky5349, the size of my bra - 44 around and an M cup.
Maybe she should try a different type of dress
$8500 PLUS the cost of modifications. In addition to Al & Jo there is a plus size bridal salon in Chicago called " Haute & Co.™ Bridal Boutique" They help a lot of curvy gals too.
In addition to the shops that you listed that are on TV there's a whole world of shops around. Just because they're not on TV doesn't mean they don't exist.
And this episode was filmed before plus size bridal was a thing. "Big Bliss" was filmed in 2003-2004. Bridal changes really fast.
I know this is a few years old, but I refuse to believe even then that this is the best they could do with such a large budget.
why are they all strapless
cause they all have no straps, jeez
Ok....Tell me her father doesn't look like Professor Klump! 👀🤣😂🤣
Why not go for an A-line with straps or cap sleeves? All those strapless styles are hard to look at.
That’s $8500 before customizing, and not counting a veil, shoes, and extra bling. 🤷♀️
No veil. Use shoes you already own. And steal some jewelry from mom. There, done! And it’s free!
She needed a princess dress
to look like a huge cake topper?! rofl
I love his love for his daughter!!
34 JJ, where did they think she was a 34
I got the double JJ part, more like a 44 JJ
I love that the family didn't hesitate to put Randy in his place. His comments are just too much sometimes. He rather body shame a woman, instead of accepting the fact that the shop is not as size inclusive as they pretend.
I feel like Gok, Jo and Al would have find the perfect dress for her body type and would have stayed within budget.
exactly!
So sad did not help her
What's the matter with the truth? The type of dress that she wanted at the time (c 2003) had B cups because the designers made them that way.
The family actually "shamed" her more than Randy ever did. Little Bo Peep? He told them the truth about what they had in the store. A J cup is very, very unusual. For bridal to accommodate that means pattern changes, and that would go way over budget. No matter what Randy did. If the truth hurts, it's not the truth's fault.
She should have gone somewhere that specialized in dresses for big women!
That was just a shame. GO SEE JO AND AL!!!!
I'm sorry but I was really hoping she was going to say, "No, this is not my dress, let's keep looking..."
@@catladyfromky4142 Of course as long as she's happy.✌

I have 1 word - mermaid. She only tried on mermaids. Did you not notice? Jo and Al not only don't carry those but purposefully try to change the bride's mind about mermaids.
This bride found the dress she loved. At Kleinfeld. So why are you pushing some other salon on her? Why do YOU have to like her dress for it to be a success?
I must say, my opinion though, the dress is not the BEST for her shape.
I love the father daughter relationship, however I believe that a mermaid or form fitting dress accentuates her body. She bulges out everywhere in the dress she thinks is right for her
She needs an A- line style dress.
Why are they putting her in strapless??
she was asking for it
I really don't think strapless is the way to go! She needs something that doesn't look like it's going to fall down!! Especially a preachers daughter!
Wrong bridal store!
My god, what a terrible silhouette on her and so expensive!
She should have gone to David's bridal. My best friend has a bust like that and they had many affordable gowns in her size.
While watching this I realized how happy I am with my B cup size 😆
😆 I'm right with you...
I'm C cup and it is touch to find good supporting bras. Enjoy your B cup 😄
Yeah you're right they needed to put something to support them babies that she had she don't need to be in a strapless you know it might look cute but she's going to need some support
The dad looks like The Nutty Professor 🤭
A store this big and famous should have a great selection of plus sizes.
Actually, the bride looked gorgeous on her wedding day. The properly tailored dress looked SO much better than it does in the salon.

Would’ve been cheaper to fly to the UK and buy a more flattering dress there!

Randy is a designer since many years, why didn't he propose to do something decent for this lovely bride to be at a reasonable price ?
That’s what I was hoping for.
OOOOh Kay! how disrespectful is this show? Randy did not need to comment on how this was the largest chest he has ever had come in. This is NOT the place for curvy brides and shame on Nina tornado's awful gowns over priced this show is just an advertisement for her nonsense.
"I would hold them for you, but we just met" 😂😂😂
Randy should have been able to do more. He knows the industry and the ignorance of the industry.
Jo and Al from "Curvy Brides Boutique" would have found her a more flattering and affordable dress!!!
She looked ridiculous....
It wasn't her. They chose bad dresses. She should have had a princess ballgown.
I googled and saw pictures from the wedding. The dress looked much much nicer on her than in this show. She looked lovely at her day.
The beauty of the lovely bride's relationship with her dad was the BEST thing about this appointment!
This is an old episode. Before ANY bridal catered to plus sizes. So, no, your country wouldn't have had better dresses when this was filmed.
Not to be mean, but the dress didn't flatter her at all. As big as this store is it looks like they would carry bigger sizes.
I’d love to see her dress on her big day after adjustments :)
Lucky her , she has a wonderful dad ❤️
Can't understand the problem. If the designer can customize the bust size, atleast pick better dress for her
Sorry,I'm in sympathy with her,as I'm built like that too,but if yr that busty you should choose something with shoulder straps. It would be far more flattering for her.
