First Lethal Venom and now you too 🥺. Hate to see the Cobra go but I totally understand it. My Terminator has been issue after issue since I got it. It gets stressful but when it is actually running and driving right and I get to enjoy it, I can't get rid of the car. I'll continue to watch the vids, excited to see what you have next.
I believe that the unfortunate reality of these cars is their age is starting to catch up with them. While many modified Cobras making a lot of power are perfectly fine you still have the situation that many of them require a lot of maintenance and upkeep. With mine specifically it needed new valve seals, it needed paint, I’m at or over $10K to fix those issues on top of the $5K I would have owed the shop if I had not sold it to them. Looking at spending another 15K over the next year just to get the car to where it should be puts a lot of things into perspective. I wish it didn’t have all its issues they are great cars to have but at the end of the day my Shelby is turn key zero issues and absolutely amazing to drive.
@@Lethal_Venom I really want to hang on to mine but it is tough with the problems that keep popping up. Right now I'm scared of a catastrophic engine failure because the car threw a code for "P0234 supercharger engine overboost condition." The car is bone stock so how it overboosted on 8 PSI just doesn't make sense. I can't afford to blow up this engine. That'd force me to sell the car and at a very significant loss. I'll check today if the code has come back or not.
@@JordanSVT Something messed up with your boost bypass valve? Its a tough situation. Like a project car you start with a clean slate and build it up with a new engine/ trans/ all that stuff and make it more modern and reliable. Having something with age on it and trying to maintain it is also problematic. Neither situation is cheep. Hope you get yours figured out soon
Man this brought back some memories of my own. My dad got me an 03 Terminator at the end of 2002 as my first car. I loved and tried to appreciate the heck out of that thing. I had it for over 12 years. Seeing/Making it evolve from bone stock to a ported blower with e85 fuel system, solid axle, tubular front suspension, cams, etc. Was an amazing journey. I’m glad you enjoyed your cobra to the fullest and took it to the track. Everyone needs to launch these bad boys on the track at least once. I will say you missed out if you never ran big and littles on it. I remember when I just had pulley/full exhaust/intake/solid axle and went to the track on 275/50/15 MT’s…. The grip plus the instant torque from the blower was soooo fun! I was running consistant 7.4xs at 94 mph in the 1/8th. My only regret was not running the 1/8th or 1/4 after ported blower and corn fuel. Enjoy your next car! I’ve kicked around the idea of getting another Terminator but to find a coupe in decent shape is not the easiest thing anymore.
Glad this video brought back some good memories. You are one lucky man, getting a brand new Terminator in 2002 is something else, specially cars back then weren't as fast as they are today, so a pullied cobra was king lol. Yes, finding a clean Terminator is a hard task today and if you do, the market will demand some serious cash for these cars, and you are always at risk due to the age of these cars and previous ownership history. Thanks for sharing your 03 cobra story with us.
I can’t wait to see what you got, I’m still on the same black GT you started your channel with..I actually just replaced the steering rack bushings too!! I went with maximum Motorsports solid bushings.. I want to see exactly what problems you’re talking about in the upcoming videos to take into consideration when deciding what to buy next…Thanks Brotha!!
Looking forward to hearing about issues that led to the vehicle being sold. I've been around these vehicles when they first came out and actually never got to own one, but I am very familiar with the platform through close friends, forum knowledge, and historical documentation.
I feel like giving up on my build sometimes so I know the feeling. You made great content along the way and looking forward to that new new you got 👀 sounds pretty good.
Sad to see it go, but it was awesome to see you experience your dream car! I'll still stay subscribed and look forward to wat you do next! Really enjoy the quality you've pumped out recently!
I never saw this day coming, things happen for a reason. I hope your new ride makes you happy, can’t wait to see it. I’ll do my best to keep my Terminator for ever, I love it and is been a great car for me aside to my Shelby GT500
Issues..... I know that all to well and played a major factor in why I decided to move off from mine with how much of a money pit it was becoming. Looking forward to what the new car is. Seems to be a trend lately for the Cobra channels to be unloading Cobras as of late. Agreed they are absolutely phenomenal cars and I'll always hold them and the one I had in high regards but there are other cars out there that are enjoyable and a blast to own as well.
I hate that it kinda is a trend because they are great cars. Issues I guess are part of the game when owning a 20 year old car, now mine only had about 40K miles so you'd think that it wouldn't have many of the typical issues, well no you'd be surprised. I'll make a video soon explaining everything.
@@TheMGChannel don’t doubt that at all. Just something to deal with due to their age regardless of miles and mods done. Regardless of the difference in power I enjoy my Shelby much more
@The MG Channel I think the low miles on an old car may be part of the problem. Normally once you fix the alternator issue (by changing the style alternator not only getting a stock style ho one) they're pretty solid from what I've seen. I think alot of them aren't driven enough and after 20 years low mile cars have more issues than higher mile cars imo. I got an 07 gt500 in 2020 with 108k it's been solid. I'm over 750 rwhp with a gen3r now and it's getting headers installed currently. They had to remove the heads due to broken studs unfortunately but I got new valve cover, head ans timing cover gaskets all done as mine were shot and leaky. What kind of issues did you have? I'm guessing alot of them were alt related? Just curious.
I got emotional watching this video 🥹 Being by your side since day 1 I know how meaningful the Termi is and has been to you ♥️ I have experienced first hand all the issues and headaches that you’ve gone through and we know that it was time to let her go 😞 I look forward to this new chapter with our new baby 💨💨💨 I love you forever and ever 🫶
Hate to see the cobra go but I just want to say thank you for all the content you have put out about it. It was definitely an inspiration for me and for thousands of others out there. I'll still continue watching your channel bro! 🙌🏻 On a side note.. is that a coyote I hear at the end? 🤔
Thank you my brother! it was a very tough decision to make, one that took a long time to make, but on a good note I have more Terminator content plan for this channel. In regards for the next car, stay tuned for the next video I think you'll be in for a little surprise.
These cars are solid typically I'm curious as to what type of issues you were having. I know they have alternator issues but there are proven fixes for that. They do have other issues any car can have issues but these seem pretty solid from what I've seen.
Back in the day I wanted one so bad but couldn’t afford one i ended up getting a 04 sonic blue gt. Was very disappointed in that car was trying to find a terminator and ended up finding a ls1 camaro that was too good a deal to pass up. Traded in the gt for it and still have it today. I would still love to have a terminator was my dream car back then.
Um, So amazing you sold it, 😂 Derek Baran comes to mind 😊 but hey all these older cars will have issues arise just got to address them , sure they can be daily driven not saying I would, but hey I’m just clowning with you can’t hate😊
Damnnn it’s okay u can buy something new and enjoy it more sometimes I think the same thing about getting ride of mines but I also sometimes forget I own a cobra I don’t drive my cobra that much I drive my s550 a lot more but I love my cobra more …
Cobras will not leave this channel, I have a lot of friends that own Terminators. The S550's are in a different class when it comes down to drivability.
Hi Miguel, Would like to know why you sold your Terminator as I have some things I'm planning to do as well. If you like we can chat on the phone and hope all's well with your Family. Take Care my Friend! Ray B. (Southern Calif.)
