just what i need to relax after turning in a very stressful uni assignment! i love seeing all of your horses, it's nice to see the ones who have less camera time
Just want to thank Meg for a well over due horse update blog. I would be interested if meg would consider doing another blog on how she bonds with the young foals and what age would she start taking them into the school for ground in hand work with the foals and what that includes doing with them
It looks like Vali is greying out! Would be interesting to see what his colour testing says. It would be cool if you string tested the youngsters to get their approximate height! Not that it’s 100% accurate but it’s just fun to see what they might end up. Can’t wait for vlogmas 🎉
Great update, lots of fun just to see them all. In regards to Valli, just testing for grey should be enough, I don't doubt the presence of cream with the way he is looking. So he is definitely buckskin, theoretically could be a grey buckskin (but I think he will stay buckskin). UC Davis just renewed their test to differentiate between two grey alleles (fast greying and slow greying, and non greying of course), they found the slow one by studying a family of Connies (and thoroughbreds). So that might be interesting to do instead of the regular old marker test.
Brego has definitely grown into his big boy body!! His light tips are gorgeous!! I hope they stay🤞!! I started following you because of Bears foal journey so I cannot wait till you ride Brego!! Also funny story. I was planing to buy a horse earlier this year (before Vali was born) and that horse was named Vali. But it wasn’t meant to be. 2 months ago I bought a lovely warmblood draft x and her name is Ari!! Funny how names mix around!!
Thank you so much! I’ve been so worried about all the babies. Not worried - but worried because I wanted to know what the plans were. I would love to see what kind of work you do with the youngsters. I realize that they are just out being babies and that is perfect but as soon as you start on things please film every second I’ve always wanted a foal to raise into what I wanted him or her to be. Sadly, that won’t happen but it doesn’t mean I don’t love watching them grow and what everyone’s philosophy is! Thanks so much for the update on the crew!
Aww such a sweet video and lovely to see how the youngsters are changing. I know it's a while off and it would take the generosity of the folks who back your horses, but I'd love to see a wee series of what goes into that.
Blonde and palomino go together for modeling, photo shoots, storybooks etc... Having a low key, less competitive "model" horse (that you bred yourself and can breed later to larger eventers or dressage stallions), might be a nice business idea. Plus Ettie might be nice for future kiddos if you keep her. No more homebreds coming up?
Love this Meg! It's so lovely to hear your plans for everyone. 🤞 That all pays off for you! Small request: As winter training sets in, please can we see you and Wilma training with Lucinda? I know you didn't film at your first lesson with her, so we didn't get to see her reaction to Wilma! But I'd love to hear what she thinks and see you training with her again xxx
Fun update, TY! Surprised the boys were ready to be gelded but hey, when it's time, and from all I've learned standing is by far the best way and yep in the field staying moving reduces swelling. They are all looking amazing, hairing up nicely so they stay skin dry and warm, look forward to more soon!
Oh I loved this so much!! It’s everything I’ve been wanting to hear about. The plans ahead are so exciting!! I love seeing them grow up. I can’t believe Ettie is 2!!!! I remember her being born like it was last month!!!! I think each horse has a special road ahead for them. Can’t wait for the journey.
Loved this update. Your 4-legged family are awesome. I can't believe you've had Wilma for a year😲. I would love to see a house update, though I expect you & Pete have been working a lot. Much love to all ❤
LOVE the update!! Can someone please remind me how tall are Wilma & Winnie currently?? I hope we don't have to wait so long for future...I just LOVE each & Everyone!!!
perlino is double cream is homozygous for bay (so they will throw bay bases like buckskin, smokey black ect.. cremello is double cream that's homozygous for red so if you put with a chestnut it's gaurenteed to be pally. xx
There is no such thing as homozygous for bay. Perlino is bay with 2 creams, its A?E?, they can 100% be heterozygous for either of those genes but must be CrCr
Lovely to see all your beautiful horses. Heading to London in December from Sydney for the London International Horse Show. Hope to see you on the Thursday morning (l think).
I love your eventing vlogs but for the younger audience (my daughter is 11) she absolutely loves your old style vlogs - dressing up at vlogmas, & horse auctions etc. 😊
so relaxing after my first exams in secondary school 😻 I wrote about you in my English exams Megan your my biggest idol I hope I’m like you when I’m older 💞💞💞
Vali is definitely buckskin so no need to test for cream😊 he also doesnt look like he'll grey but as some grey really slow, that would be what to test for.
I really enjoy watching you work the youngsters as that's what I love doing 😊 It's a shame you're not keeping Ettie I was looking forward to seeing a Palomino!! Keep up the good work Meg!! You're great😍
Looove the video! Great to have a catching up like that. The only thing - since you’re kind of introducing all of the horses, it would’ve been nice if you said their show names 😊
Thank you for sharing such a great vlog , good luck when you go to London horse show . And I'll look out for Christmas vlogs . Take care and all the best .😊😊😊😊👍👍👍👍❤❤
I feel like when moose gets older and I trained he would be a great kids pony obviously depending what happens with his training!! Possibly the same with brego and Ettie 💖 If you get so connected with them I think they'd be great ponies to loan out to someone trying to level up in riding 💓 I'm loving this video right now megsss x Edit: Just thought I'd say good luck with your eventing and hopefully doing some international shows! That will be super x I'll make sure to be following along your journey 💗
hi meghan, sorry if i have spelt your name wrong. one vlog i kinda want to see from you is a day in the life or a week in the life because then we get to see more of the foals.
It's great to see all the gang, mud and all. 😊. It's lovely to see them all out in the field, being horses. Isn't it always the case, one of the best....Ari.....has to retire so early. Do you do inhand exercise with him, or just take him for a walking hack? ❤
He's not ridable. From her video about his condition, even leading him is potentially dangerous. Seems from everything she's posted with him since (that I've seen) he's on 24/7 turnout, which he's super happy with.
A lovely vlog Meg on all your gorgeous ponies, I feel so bad for ari , bless him can you give us a more informative update on how he’s doing and what his future looks like. He’s one of my favourites. Also when you decide to sell your horses how do you go about this and choosing the right homes for them? It will be sad to see mouse go as he’s so sweet, also please do not sell ettie omg she is just so stunning and when she gets bigger she will be amazing, just keep her for a while break her in and see what you have got, also valley is to cute to sell he’s another beautiful baby to hang on to.
It's up to Megan if she sells Ettie, as she belongs to her not you!! If a rider wants to sell a Horse, it's up to them, you don't get a say in the matter. Mind your own business!!
She was giving her opinion, as Meg asked. Of course all people can keep or sell their own animals. Also Palominos and blonde riders get a lot of viewers if Harlow and Popcorn are any indication. This is a business for Meg, so she considers her audience. @@MissJools11
She did a whole video on Ari's condition. You should be able to find it, I think the title is something about "not being able to ride my horse" or the like, but from what I recall it's degenerative, and they will be keeping him as a turned out babysitter until his quality of life is impacted such that it's time to euthanize him. She pointedly said he will not be sold even as a pasture pet, since she believes someone might ride him anyway due to his apparent good condition (his symptoms are dangerous and painful but intermittent) and his attractive movement.
@@homesteadlife2235 yes but she doesnt keep her horses to make money off of youtube, shes actually one that will do whats best for her horse. If she wanted to sell ettie she can. its not about views its the horses life.
Btw for anyone interested in a bit of Bear's history, I did some poking around a while ago and found the following catalogue description. "Lot 15. ‘Brynithon Silver Locket’ 5 year old Dun Mare approx. 14hh. Locket is a sweet-natured kind mare that is currently wasted as the vendors are overstocked and have no time or rider with which to do her justice. Bred in the purple, the mare is by Penlangrug Diplomat 86332 by Thorneyside the Terminator 45541 out of Brynithon Poppet by Thorneyside the Govenor 39505. The very best of Welsh blood runs through this mare with Brynmor Welsh Magic, Ebbw Victor, Nebo Black Magic, Parvadean, Synod, Cathedine and Menai all within her lineage. Regretfully this mare is a half-sister to Nithsdale Stud’s Penlangrug Desert Storm and is therefore too closely related to be retained for breeding purposes. Locket has wonderful extended action and in the right hands would make an excellent driving prospect suited as she is to either Light Trade or Private Drive. She is also a promising ridden project and should make an ideal all-round family animal. Sold without warranty."
@@rutherose23 I do wonder how Bear would adapt, given her personality, but there's no question that she would look very smart in harness if Meg ever decided to go that route.
Omg Brego and Moose are so big! Would love it if you could do a video on how you stop the youngsters from biting and being bargy as although i don't have a youngster I've got an 11 yr old who thinks he's 5 and has never been told no before me
Oh my goodness, Brego and Moose have gotten so big! I rememner when they were first born. 🥹🥹

Great to see all your horses! They're all gorgeous, but I hope you'll keep Ettie at least for a while. She's so beautiful!
Totally agree, maybe let her have a foal when time is right. Think she would produce a beautiful baby.
i would love to see a loose jumping Ettie video!
It looks like Vali is greying out! Would be interesting to see what his colour testing says. It would be cool if you string tested the youngsters to get their approximate height! Not that it’s 100% accurate but it’s just fun to see what they might end up. Can’t wait for vlogmas 🎉
