There is a simple answer to having no screen , it’s a back rest . I have the same bike and rode London to Sicily as my first big trip no screen , 2-up all our camping gear . I bought this bike because there’s no screen or fairing , if folks want a screen buy a street glide or road glide , with a back rest there no drama sitting at 90mph or more for hours on end . I think the thing is people like the idea of a motorcycle but really want a Tesla . Great video on the bike .. ❤
As a HD owner for many years I can state 100% honestly, once you go to the HD touring frame eg RK and Electra Glides you wont want to ride any other. The King is the great all rounder for street city riding - long hauling across Australia 5000 km runs, if you have good extra sissy bar mounted bags. I run an Ultra for serious long hauls but shes a heavy fat beast in slow city rides. Anyone can ride one after you get use to the 430 kg weight. Id go for the King for the best of both worlds if I didn't have my Ultra. Keep the shiny side up 🇦🇺
@@simotofoto twisted cherry....a sorta maroon. Done lots to it over the time, hd hammock seat, stage 1, 13" rear suspension and lots more. It's the best and most versatile hd model imo, of the whole line up. Wont ever sell it.😁
Really enjoyed this extremely informative and objective review. Currently looking at this model, I ride a Ninja 1000sx but I'm at the age where I'm struggling with a bit of arthritis in my left hip and knee and feel the more relaxed riding position would benefit me. Thanks again for the great review 👍
Thanks ever so much for the kind comment, I wish you well with your hunt for a bike that suits better and is a little more comfortable, you'll never look back :)
Great video ... looking at getting one of these ... at the mo i have a low rider s ... was trying to explain to my mate the difference, we was in a pub talking bike's ... i said, "Go tell the girl behind the bar that you ride a bike ... He had to explain what his bike was. It's a suzuki gsxr 1000 rr, and it's a sports bike. That's why he had one piece set of leathers on ... I walked up and said it was a Harley-Davidson job done with a leather jacket and rider jeans on ... lol
I love the rugged simplicity of my 2020 Roadking. I have the passing lights of course,... and on long highway stretches the cruise control is a great thing to have!... Also recently I added a set of Memphis Shades hand guards that I know will e a hand-saver in the cold and rain!... Cheers!
I have the 2022 Road King Special in the Green Color. It's the love of my life . Had it since June this year and I've road 3,500 miles on it while working 2 jobs 60 hours a week.. I dont have the wind screen..... done 110 miles an hour on it many times. Works as a tourer for me.
Awesome review .. The one motorcycle u need in ur garage is RKS !! it very versatile.. I take it work , tour thousands of kms , highway pegs n rider back rest make a big difference in touring .. have been through number of Harleys .. one thing that stayed is the 22 Denim Green RKS .. what a bike !! Greetings from Australia 🇦🇺
Good video. I love mine after modding for me as a shorter rider. Out of the box it’s set up for about a 6 foot tall person. Really glad you didn’t spend 20 min going over all the same info over again and gave us your opinion right off the go.
Excellent review as ever mate, I seen one of these down in Czech Republic and instantly loved the looks, it was stripped back no bag or screen and it just looked and sounded awesome, I would certainly consider one if I could two up tour to Europe, I’m a bit like you in that my Tiger is super practical and comfortable almost too easy nowadays to tour with a GS or Tiger this certainly would be an option, need to get a ride on one 👍
Hi Si, great videos, good to recognise areas that I know, a friendly voice / accent and real day-to-day use of a motorcycle...although driving a Monkey Bike on a motorway might be pushing the boundaries🙂. As well as other manufacturers bikes, I've had a mixture of Harley's throughout the years from a Sportster back in the early 90's to Softails and Touring models...and they've all improved massively over the years. I'm tempted with the Road King (and have been for some time), but the Triumph Rocket 3 that you drove recently, is a really interesting option to consider. Before I go for a test ride on both, I'd be interested to hear how you would compare them...allowing for the fact that you openly declare that you work for a Triumph dealer🙂
Hey Mark, not ridden the Rocket for a while but I will be dropping a review on the new Rocket 3 GT storm shortly, keep an eye on the channel for my thoughts. Cheers Si
Excellent Vid Si,... My Brother in law has one of those, 2006 ??, that's an orangy-red rather than the red-line red, 107 if I remember right. Full kit on it, ( tall boy wind screen, bags etc. ), Anyway.... His eldest has the Break Out, ( He's your stature ...), But I haven't been down to the coast here since Covid, ... So trying to give you any info on his thoughts is a wash. I'm a Yamaha cruiser fan by comparison, So I trend after the Bolt, Stryker and Raider genre...Currently riding a Bolt, .... the "Metric" Sportster.... lol Stay Safe
Great review, I was sorry to see an end to the standard road king. Those road kings aren't cruisers, they are touring bikes. At the beginning of the touring range right enough.
Awesome bike man, considering one myself. Wish they had the 117 on them to. Do you notice any difference on these made in thailand models compared to the USA made? 🇺🇸 Thanks
I don’t mind riding around on a bike without wind protection or a screen. I bought a bike not a car, so everything I’ve owned for probably 10 years has been “naked”. The Road King is the best looking of the Harley lineup I think to my eyes.

RoadKing Special is a great touring bike. Have a 2021 and totally love it.
Totally agree!
Had my rks just over 4 years now.
Still love it!❤

Just as an update, I test road the Road King Special and ordered one! The most comfortable bike I've ever riden without a shadow of a doubt!

62,000 miles on my 2007 Road King Custom. The windshield has been on 4 times since ive bought, possibly 5. Nothing beats a King to me.

Did you get one. Great bike.
Not yet bud still on the hunt :)

Would love a go on one Stewy

Springfield Darkhorse over a Road King all day every day. Cheers 🍺🍺🍺🍺🇳🇿

I wouldn't bother they have an alloy frame fork head snaps if over tied down to hard @@simotofoto

Don't disagree with it being the best looking although I do like the Breakout also
