I've made profit from selling some of my sports cards that were graded with MGC. A quality card is always a quality card no matter who graded by. Its just PSA as they have been in business since early 90's still have a premium to the name
I think this is where SGC comes in. MGC just puts me off as it is not recognised as a grading company. Each to their own but people get snobbish about using SGC so don’t know what it is like with MGC. Will be intro see what happens
What constitutes a recognised grading company though? I haven’t seen any MGC graders be snobbish in my opinion. Don’t get me wrong I like SGC, but this video was purely about making money and flipping cards. If I sent some of these cards to SGC and got 9s or 9.5s I’d be looking at a loss.
Thinks it's really good that you are promoting MGC. We need to have grading companies in the UK even if it takes another 10 years before the US recognizes them. As we are only collectors and not really interested at the moment in flipping cards, we just grade lower end cards with MGC. We keep the high end cards in mags. We have about 50 of those Grealish cards though which did not cost us anything so might get a few done with MGC if a 9 is selling for £80+
Even more useful than your other videos thanks Dan - don't have the funds for high end stuff yet but will defo get my best cards graded with MGC after watching this.
Nice clip, I have just sent off one of my TCG Cards to get grading at MGC, I have hundreds of cards I need grading so I am hoping for good things from MGC as I haven't had a very good experience from other UK grading companies.
Great video! I really like MGC and will be using them for my PC and to sell cards mainly for UK buyers. The day PSA announce a UK or EU hub is the day the likes of MGC fold. That'll be my worry as a UK grading company. Unlikely maybe but wouldn't rule it out with the demand and hobby expanding over the last couple of years in the UK.
I really like the MGC slabs compared to the affordable alternatives. Mostly getting stuff graded to keep it nice long term for PCs so I think it’s great value and looks good on display. Nice to see that it’s probably worthwhile cost-wise too.
Interesting video. Would be interesting to see costs +/- including costs of grading for cards that haven't sold, assuming not everything you paid to grade has sold - I may be wrong there. I need more spreadsheets!
Yeah these are just the ones I’ve sold. I thought just do the ones I’ve sold as it makes it easier to find out if I made a profit. I like the idea of costing up a batch but I do send some PC Cards in which would never get sold. Haha glad you liked the spreadsheet!
This was really useful actually, I've been thinking about signing up to the MGC subscription service as it offers the best value. I'm definitely going to do that now. I have a few cards I've been thinking bout grading for a while now so it will be perfect to get them done at a better rate. I also recently created a spread sheet to keep track of costs, I'm crap with excel though, but it seems to make sense to me
I’m still not convinced with MGC, had you factored in the costs of posting to MGC as well, as they postage to them for 5 cards depending how you are sending is a minimum of £3/4. For cards like Vlahovic you would have paid £8 postage to cover yourself if they got lost. This wouldn’t have added enough value to justify the grading. I recently graded a Vlahovic ticket which cost me £20 raw, paid £30 to grade with SGC, sold it for £320. Still shows it’s worth using SGC as a minimum. I agree MGC are good for the low end cards though.
Postage is a good point but you’d send 5 at once in the monthly sub so you wouldn’t be looking at a whole lot more. Out of interest what was the grade of your Vlahovic with SGC and did you use eBay to sell the card? £320 is great value as I’ve seen SGC 9.5s go for a lot less!
Great video very interesting. Just out of curiosity, what did you gauge your sale price listings on seeing as there aren’t many MGC comps and how long was the turnaround on the bronze service?
Is this a MGC propaganda video , feel like you started off as a test to see if u can make money, then proceeded to tell us about how valuable it was before you went through if u could make £ ? Just confused ? Great video as always
Haha no it’s not. I get very dismissive comments saying you can’t make money with MGC and that they’re new and haven’t been round long enough. I’m just being supportive of a UK grading company that’s doing all the right things imo.
Great video - sent off 12 cards this month to them myself because of you and your discount code 👍🏻
Ah nice one thank you!! Fingers crossed for some good grades!!

Yeah I agree with that. The longest running company is the most established.

Really appreciate the support! Thank you for seeing our dream and vision! 🙌
Yeah absolutely, get those Grealish cards sent in!

Just wondering how you decided how much to sell the graded cards for?
Ah that’s great to hear thank you!!
@@markellens7325 I checked eBay sold listings to work out comps. Some I had as best offer and came down on, on price when someone submitted an offer

Yeah for sure, totally agree!

Cheers Barry! It’s all about the spreadsheets 🙌🏼
Enjoying the content, nice to see what's good over seas!

Ah appreciate that, thank you very much!

Pleasure, glad it was useful to you!

I actually gauged the sale price on other graded cards, mostly SGC actually. Bronze turnaround is 2-8 weeks
Great video. How do you decide which cards to get graded?
Usually good collector cards or valuable cards
Do MGC grade football stickers? If they do, do they get slabbed in a sticker slab, or do they get put in card slabs?
They do. Atm they grade them in sleeves but they’re developing a sticker case atm I believe.
Were the cards sold via auction or buy now on ebay out of interest please.
Buy it now with best offers on
Lovely cheers for the reply
MGC labels are too sports oriented for my liking. But I'd still choose them over the scam company that is Ace Grading.

Isn’t MGC £34.99 for 5 not £30?
Hi Jack, yes the membership is £34.99 works out £6.99 a card to be graded 👍
Nice vid
