Have the 1987 Mallard with 460ci. Very similar. Currently getting 10mpg. Running rich. Needs tune up but likely to get no better than 12. For a motorhome that's still great.
I have a 1987 Ford E350 Econoline 26 Foot Fleetwood Jamboree Rallye, with the 460. The Exhaust Manifold must be toast because it's extremely loud, and the exhaust system is in really great shape from the manifold all the way back. And if it's been sitting for more than just a few days, I need to give it a hefty dose of starting fluid in the Carb to get it to start. Any ideas on what these issues may be ?
Looks like a good time, I am typing this sitting in my old motorhome. We love camping with our kids and grandkids.

I found out after 400 miles that a hose in my carburetor was dried out and leaking so after I fix that I'm hoping for 12 mpg. I'll let you know!!

Hi
Cool!
I have a 1988 as well… different model.
Have you found anywhere for replacement parts?
I haven't. I wish there was something like an RV junkyard close by that I could use. Nevertheless, the Ford engine is very common so that's a benefit.
