We have one of these 1980s Ford Econoline RVs here in the UK. We bought it as a severely internally rotted vehicle, and we are renovating it over on our TH-cam channel. We love the project.
That would be neat to find an abandoned RV out in the middle of the wilderness, that nobody wanted. Cool! 😎 But first, my friend and I would examine it for somebody's license and other vehicle information, including belongings inside, to find out if it really had been abandoned. If there's nothing inside the RV though, we would look up the number plate on the internet and try to contact the person who previously owned the RV. If they wanted their RV back, we would direct them to it. But if they didn't (which was why they abandoned it) my friend and I would take the RV for ourselves. The person might call us garbage pickers, but we'd be happy to have the RV. If it wasn't drivable anymore after being abandoned all that time, we would use the car that has a pulley to trail it.
I have a 1988 Royal Classic 🎉 runs like butter. Mines in good shape and its a slightly smaller model. Yes the propane tanks on old RVs have to be certified these days but its not always the case.
I just picked up a 87 Ford fiberglass minibus. Thing is great, carbureted 460 7.5 and it rips. Had to rip the whole floor out and about to take a second mortgage out for the plywood.
Hello from New Zealand. That’s a cool house truck. Love those big block 460 cid V8 engines. The body on this looks good for its age but those seams on the edge of the panels on the outside may need replacement, that’s the cause of many water leaks etc so you may need to pull the inner panels off from inside and replace . Awesome project for you if you can fix it up. As for the LPG unit you be best to get rid of that part.
Similar to our /92 ford that we bought in 2021, certified and insurable ‘cause our propane passed inspection. Ours is 30’ with 77k. Absolutely love it. Same engine and we average 14 km/L. We’re happy with everything about it.
I was in high school in the early 80’s. I remember these colors being popular back then. Light wedge wood blue and mauve. Also peach was another popular color. 😬
When we bought our Winnebago it was a 79 and it had the same issue with the insurance when it comes to the furnace and hot water heater. To get insurance the previous owner had the disable the hot water heater and remove the furnace. Also the 3 Way fridge had to be removed as well.
I have an 86 with the Windsor engine. I like the Windsor better, because it is easy to work on. Mine is a barn find with just 29K and stored inside. Would not trade for a new one.
I have a 1991 on my channel it used to look just like that one but was only in worse condition but it only has 38,000 miles and I redid the whole thing subscribe to my channel
It must be a "State thing" as of....(02/28/2022...I own, drive & Camp in a MARATHON, 1989 E-350 / 7.5Liter / 460cid V8 / 116, 000plus Odo miles.(different SetUp). Generac Generator with 1,740hrs ). I've been with GEICO....15YRS Plus...no problem. That Unit is mostly complete....and if the Engine and Tranny runs.....she is a keeper...and worth fixing it for use.
Can you please do a video on the motor home axillary battery relay or solenoid wiring harness? I have a 1988 Ford econoline e350 7.5L engine. And I can not find a diagram at all. PLEASE HELP 😢😅😊( if you can. ) Thank you
You need to have the system pressure tested. They connect a gauge to your intake on the stove, then open the main line, then close the main line. In 15 minutes they check the pressure again. You can only lose x amount of pressure to pass the test, I don’t remember the pressure drop your permitted but our /92 passed with good numbers. After test you get a tag attached to your tank and you can get insurance. It’s an expensive test. Our test was $90. CDN. Repeat tests will be required every 5yrs I think-not completely sure.
That idea sounds good on paper but in reality most likely wouldnt be worth it, 60k in batteries probably, but now because youve added 15,000 lbs or more to vehicle you are now going to need a 2000 dollar+ brake upgrade and you will no longer be allowed to drive it on the road as it will be over its GVWR rating too. Not to mention you would get about 30km of range because of the weight and the vehicles lack of aerodynamics
70’s would’ve been orange shag carpeting and avocado green appliances. This is most definitely all 80’s. Mauve, wedge wood blue and peach was another popular color of that decade
The law could get you for breaking in if that doesn't belong to you . Are you trying to go to jail. If that was mine I would get you arrested you should stay away from stuff that doesn't belong to you
