Exactly
Just imagine a spyder in black.....
As per tradition: when Ferrari is bad at F1, they make incredible cars. This has to be one of the most beautiful cars ever. They kinda went Aston Martin elegance with Italian flag and it worked perfectly. Just wow. Just as I thought the 812 would be the peak design (but still flawed) for Gran Tourer Ferraris they make this. The targa with green or that silver with blue hints just became the life goal to own a V12 open top Ferrari you can use in the modern era.
It looks soulless. LED strips for lights been overdone to death by korean and japanese budget cars. It's gonna age horribly
They’re pretty decent this year id say.
That rule doesn't apply when talking 2004 with the f430. They had the best F1 car F2004 too.
@@MuppetsSh0wIt isn't. It is stunning to look at. Those LED's are the modern touches.
Ferrari is doing fine. Things can always be way worse (1980 season or you know when they lost villneuve and pieroni in the same season)
This car is a sign that the car community is just full of haters now. No matter if its a beautiful v12. They hate just to hate
1000% percent facts. Ive never fallen so madly in love with a car, literally been thinking about it nonstop. Thats enough to tell you how beautiful this car really is. Yet somehow people are hating?? How can people hate on this beauty?? It doesnt make sense at all
sorry bro but 2005 called, they want this front back
I only hate BMW Designs and EV cars in General! BMW messed up many models in the last years! But I do love the new Ferrari 12Cilindri! That tells me, Retrodesign is still a Thing! Thats the secret why cars are sucessful! Look at Mustang, Camaro, Charger... They all feature Designlines from the original concept!😉😎👍

@@smoath yes
or at least make them really squished ovals if theyre going for that minimalist look
But that is not the design langauge now isn't it ?
The Roma, 296 and Purosangue all have the same design.
I don't get the obsession of many car enthusiasts with having as many elements in body color as possible. Contrasting panels and graphic elements often make the design much more interesting while body-colored surfaces being too large without interruptions tend to make the car look heavy and bulky.
on a black body it will be the same (at least similar) colour tho... will they ban black for this car then?..
Because it can look cheap when not done tastefully. Also a single colour is more uniform. Some people like the more brutalist feel of a single colour, rather than the glossy piano designs, I don't know what they call this stuff but yeah.
If its done nicely n a to a certain extent yes then contrast is nice but majority of the time its overdone n ricey looking
@@user-aRb00d3r You can get the car in black, but you must sign an NDA not tell Flavio Manzoni about it.
Because it looks like cheap piece of crap plastic, piano black is always bad way to go just like 911 did with interior trim between driver and passenger.
worst looking car of the Manzoni era, and I usually love his cars
I really like the body colored “band” the black graphics create on the coupe in the rear. Looks really cool from above.
Looks pretty cool from above, but I think it really hurts the side profile view.
@@generic9777 if you think about it, in the real world almost nobody will look at this object in the side view 😊
Looks like the smart roadster
I could not agree more. I also went to design school. I have a hard time imagining any car lover with a sense of design, not loving this car. Which makes it that much more shocking to read so many negative comment online about it. Its startling how many people simply fear change, instantly rejecting the unfamiliar without actually taking time to look at it.
Flavio Manzoni is designing pieces of art that regular people just don't seem to understand. He's ahead of his time with these futuristic yet retro designs. Only the true car design experts can fully appreciate the genius and vision of Flavio's work. Ferrari has been winning the Red Dot design award (the most prestigious design award in the world) for almost every car that Manzoni has designed. So obviously that's proof that he's doing everything right. People who don't like these stunning designs are just really weird or maybe blind or both, I don't know.
People’s heritage or in other words, culture, fashion their eyes in how they perceive art. Some people think a Toyota looks better than a Lamborghini because it’s economical. While it doesn’t make much sense, because they have a distaste for its price point or maybe their perception of its “rich” owners, they then see the car not as a piece of art but over priced, ugly and obnoxious. Often the things we find beautiful are… just that. The things that we find beautiful due to our care of them. The same way a man might find a conventionally ugly woman (by most) beautiful. Some find beauty in symmetry, some find beauty in asymmetry.
See this car is nice but back profile needs some changes in my opinion like the round tail lights and round exhausts because back looks like roma and the interior obviously old farraris have best interior.
@@sinikv7228 Yup agreed. The skulpture is great but the details fail me a bit. Also in the front I would like it to be more simple and clean.
Did he also work on the 812?
It's ugly bro
I would say the only thing about this car that drags it down would be the lack of physical buttons for basic functions. I think that Ferrari went a little overboard with the minimalism and haptic feedback controls. I don't care if they're more expensive than putting functions into a screen, this is Ferrari we're talking about here. Ferrari can afford to put buttons and switches into the cabin for simple functions. Look at Aston Martin's new interior. They were able to put buttons and whatnot in there and it's beautiful while still looking modern to boot.
Agree. It's a modern trend that is so unnecessary and in some cases even dangerous.
Yes, if I was in the market for a Ferrari, it's the biggest thing that would push me away. I don't fully hate the interior aesthetically, there's stuff there to like but the functionality is just a no to me. Buttons for certain functionality is just more ergonomic. Ferrari seems to be shifting to going for this futuristic trendy apple like design language and I am not fully on board with it.
If I had to choose between the Roma or Vantage or DB12, it would be one of the Astons mostly for this reason and I am betting it's just gonna be the same with the 12 Cilindri and the Vanquish.
@F1ll1nTh3Blanks The irony is that I can see supercar manufacturers bringing back physical switches at some point and market it as a 'retro' trend or something haha. You think they would at least make the infotainment system good. The one in the Roma is god awful and laggy.
Not the most beautiful modern Ferrari in my opinion. That place is occupied by the 296 GTB. But this 12C is not bad at all, it is a modern interpretation of the Daytona
I think the most beautiful modern farrari will be f430 scuderia or lafarrari...

@@seansiew5629Lambo designs are just ugly these days, they went overboard with their wedge shaped design!
the 296 is a beauty, and for some reason its design language is very different from the other modern Ferraris. The SF90, Purosangue and this new car are clearly related
@@valkyries_007 yes the Revuelto’s design is all about angles and nothing else, and tbh not worth 50% the extra price compared to this, not to mention, without opting carbon fibre in the interior, you are getting plastic parts instead which is a huge NO
The only thing I don’t like is how the rear black panel shape is very prominent, but the body color band doesn’t visually connect to the front, so instead of the desired effect being the rear getting pulled to the front, it makes for a rear heavy visual effect like the rear is sliding down and off the car, while anything to the front of the rear wheel is separately lifting up. Other than that it’s a gorgeous design, especially the coupe which alleviates that graphic issue
I was waiting on this, also Ferrari says you can't paint match or else they'll show up at your house
I'll invite them for some cannoli 😅😅
Which is odd because it's clear they were nodding at the Daytona but then when you want to finish the job by going for a single tone finish, they get upset. I have seen renders and it still looks fine as a single colour.
If you buy a painting from a famous artist would you feel the desire to add your own colors to the canvas? No you wouldn’t. This is the mindset Ferrari takes towards their cars. If you don’t agree with this sentiment then you miss understand why you buy a Ferrari in the first place. If you want the plastic Botox slut, go buy a Lamborghini.

This design is a love letter to the Ferrari’s of the 70s. There’s obviously some Daytona, but also some Berlinetta Boxer and Mythos. My favorite detail is the parallel creases running down the side (an homage to the detailing down the side of every Ferrari of the 70’s). This car is a design tour de force. Bravo Ferrari.
One of the best looking Ferraris ever made 🔥🔥
The front looks like the front of EV Toyota
You mean that Toyota had imitated Ferrari 😂
considering the front looks like a 365 daytona i'd say Toyota copied ferrari first then. the japanese have been copying european design for decades now so it wouldnt suprise me
This may be a controversial opinion, but this looks far better than the 812 superfast. The 812 to me looked a bit fussy from the front and side. Was never a fan of its design. But this is a massive improvement from the 812 design and I love it!
Never really liked the 812 but now I love it after seeing this. I really don’t like this design, my favorite is by far the F12.
f12 all the way.
F12 was beautify and elegant, 812 lost all of that with all the fussy lines. The new one is even worst. Wtf is that 2 line side profile.
For me the 812 grew on me and this will too but right now this just exemplifies what I didn't vibe with about the 812. Except that this goes even further to the extreme, it looks like a concept car design of a classic car. Not so bad but it's not my thing. The Daytona was never my favourite Ferrari design either so there's that. I am certain it will grow on me regardless but for now.. Yeah.
It looks like the beautiful lovechild of the 365 GTB/4 Daytona and the 512S Modulo concept.
Pls inject more 70's in my veins. I love it.
PS. The only thing I would change is switch out the black nose panel with glass and give it a full laser blade mono headlight. I always found it weird that the 365 GTB/4 only hinted at it and never fully committed. This new car is the perfect canvas to rectify that...perhaps when we get a Modificata.
Same sentiments.. It would look incredible as a piece of glass and much more 70's yesteryear yet progressive.
very good observation
They should name it 612 Daytona
They already had the 612 Scaglietti.
If they want to honour the original, they would name it the 540 GTB/4 - 540 for the individual cylinder capacity in cubic centimetres, GTB for GT Berlinetta and /4 for 4 cam.
The original was the 365 GTB/4 and was never called "Daytona" by the factory.
Note to all manufacturers: if a V12 does just need that grill, your less powerful car should have an smaller one.
I think this is the best looking Ferrari since the Roma. Staying away from the overly fussy styling of the 812 and F8 is the way to go. Beautiful clean lines. I've no idea why so many people are calling this ugly.
Well people like overdesigned vehicles like Lamborghini, and that is going down on quality and reliability
Because it looks like an appliance. Look at the front end. It's soulless, it has no emotion.

More than a dash of the 512S Modulo concept in there too.
You forgot to mention that the two hood vents are design cues paying tributes to the Daytona as well. Plus, if you look at the coupe from above, the shape of the rear deck/rear windshield area looks similar to the hood vents, just enlarged, both looking like arrows pointing forward.

I love it. Though I feel they missed an opportunity. When I first saw that front end, I thought they'd made hidden "eyelid" headlights like on the SP3 daytona, but hiding the entire headlight. That would have been awesome.
seeing a redesign like this you're immediately struck with an avalanche of respect for what good taste means when being a designer. You're also faced with an avalanche of disrespect and disgust for the fraud that is Domagoj Dukec who somehow tricked a bunch of people into thinking he should be designing cars instead of being properly mistrusted even when operating a toaster.
I really don't dig the dark rear glass. Cuts volume from the back, especially cause it goes all the way down. Gives me a sense of vacancy that I really despise. I would have preferred if it was scaled up so not to end on the edge of the tail.
I like the homage to the 365 Daytona on the front though.

I think what Ferrari has done is brilliant. We all love Ferrari/supercars. What sports cars can do is amazing. Not to mention most supercars are absolutely beautiful to look at. That said,, the noise of a supercars engine is,, in most cases ridiculous. not Everyone wants to be obnoxious & rude,, As their cars are screaming down the street. Some people like to be incognito. Not letting the whole neighborhood know that they’re starting their car early in the morning. Or coming home screaming into the driveway late at night. Given that it is mostly drivers of supercars/sports car ,, that appreciate the noise (or for some the beautiful purring symphony ) of a screaming engine. I feel that it is the driver that should get the most benefits of that loud engine. By putting the sound of the engine in the car. For the driver to get his moneys worth. I Love it!!! it would be great if Harley Davidson (and other motorcycle companies) did the same thing. With motorcycles, they can just put the noise in the helmet. Let the rest of us get our rest or be able to walk down the street without jumping lol because of an obnoxious loud car or motorcycle. But this is why Ferrari is one of the best. Now they can just reduce the pollution lol I know I’m pushing that one. Come on with that electric Ferrari, Aston Martin, Lamborghini etc..

Nothing to add, as always great video and walk through for the design. the only down side is the screens and what they do; Ferrari should have their R&D team focused into implementing the same passion that the designers and mechanics have! Other than that... Great vehicle! ❤
Its been far too long since I've heard you say that a car is a masterpiece. good to see that there are still good designs coming out.
As soon as you start talking about touch screens I just loose interest... All the talk about preserving the V12 and heritage and so on is great but how about preserving some tactile controls? The worst thing about modern cars in my opinion is the blind, unquestioning, headfirst stumble into a world of touch screens that don't function well and certainly don't age well no matter how good the design.
Lamborghini is getting worse with the quality they are giving nowadays, if you do not select a carbon fibre package in the interior, you are just getting a plastic component

The 12 looks very hybrid to me. I checked, and it isn't.
Maybe the first all electric Ferrari will be based on the 12 cilindri?
Why do i think it looks so fussy, not beautify at all. I feel like Ferrari lost so much of the elegance their cars always have after Pininfarina.

Glad that someone with a professional taste sees it the same way as I see it
Bembli is far from a professional. He's just a youtuber.
La.Daytona 12...
Notice that all the revealed cars were in the Italian flag colours.
i am glad that ferrari is coming back to the classical beauty design language. TH-camrs that want something flashy can get a mclaren or a lambo, ferrari is not a car but also a very special art piece
From my point of view, the most difficult thing to achieve is a design of fluid lines and curves, because I think it is very difficult to make art out of a simple thing.
I think it's much easier to draw a loaded design full of corners and crowded. clearly it will stand out, but it won't be anything unprecedented or revolutionary.
I'm not an artist and I don't have any inclinations, but that's how I see things.
Should the small part next to the headlights should be black as well as the front bit?
great suggestion. that makes the front look somewhat less vomit inducing
There's a weird effect where a car becomes good looking only if one is really knowledgeable about car design.
That's this car.
The callbacks are nice if one knows the Daytona. But on its own, the black looks like plastic. Especially the back. Why are people paying half a million for a modern car that puts so much effort into looking cheaper than the materials. The interior even more so.
Contrast with the 1960s cars which are timeless because their designers just made the nicest car they could build. No need for callbacks.
What's weird is that for all this nostalgia, ferrari don't actually build what people want... a 250 GTO.
A manual... V12... real tactile buttons... less screens not more...
Very good presentation! This is another GT-masterpiece of Ferrari and the team under Flavio Manzoni!

I don't care what anyone says you're wrong, rear diffusers are too heavy and *all* they're front headlights have the wrong symmetry, and the Dlr's are too clunky.

One highlight of this design is that the different colours are applied to different panels. That is the only way this should be done.
