The Pitcairn family finally won the lawsuit some where in the mid 70’s and was awarded a mere 60 million or there abouts. All of that time while Sikorsky,Hughes and others pocketed billions. Juan Ceiva was a genius. His family built aircraft in Spain when on of his best friends died in a stall spin accident in on of his family airplanes. He was very distraught and the stall spin was not well understood at the time. all they knew was if you got too slow you died. This lead himself to pose one of the most out-of-the-box questions i personally have ever encountered. “ Why do the passengers have to travel at the same velocity as the wings? And thus the idea of a rotating wing was born. And now you know the rest of the story.

It's sad that Pitcairn made such significant contributions to aviation, and yet his name is virtually unknown. I suppose that the same govt that deceived and took advantage of him wasn't eager to highlight his contributions.
