My absolute favorite TH-cam show! The intellectual banter & the friendship between you two just bring me so much joy. I can’t even put into words how much I enjoy whatever the magic is of VPZD❤❤
I'm scrolling, scrolling. Stop! Back up and I see my 3 favorite docs! Always fun and games and a lot of laughs with you 3, however, I always learn something new. Appreciate the way you bring light to these issues.
Thanks for this video, guys. Vinay, your honesty about the media/Biden administration was a breath of fresh air to me who feels gaslit. I'm a conservative but not party line. Thanks for your honesty. Marty, I always love to hear what you have to say. Also, when you mentioned the rise in pancreatic cancer, I was surprised but now curious . My Dad was diagnosed with state 4 around Easter. He stopped chemo around Independence Day. He's in a clinical trial, but due to his bad condition has not gotten more than one treatment. I hope he is able to get another today. ❤ From a homeschool Christian mom in Kansas
So sorry about your Dad’s health struggles. My husband died of stage 4 lung cancer. We’d been living in a house with six times the legal limit (there is no safe level) of radon gas (#2 cause of lung cancer behind smoking) for 14.5 years. After his devastating illness and death, I found Medical Medium (Anthony William) in (what I believe was) an answer to a prayer. Medical Medium’s first book helped so much, and his Cleanse to Heal book had specific anti-cancer protocols. All I can say is it’s been nine years since my husband’s death and my health is excellent. I wish we’d known about the radon gas in our house because it’s so easy and not very expensive to mitigate. And I wish I’d known about medical medium. But I may not have been as motivated to change my lifestyle without having been my husband’s caregiver through the horrible ordeal he endured. I feel obligated to pass this information on because it’s helped me and others so much. I know to some degree what you’re going through. He wasn’t my Dad, but we were married for just 4 months short of 30 years. He was my world . The books are inexpensive on Amazon and you can borrow them for free from the library. Medical Medium has so much free information on his website. And you can always Google Medical Medium pancreatic cancer, or any other condition. And you’re likely to find at least something you can do to support the other treatments he’s getting. My husband was so far gone when they caught it that he didn’t qualify to be in any clinical trials. I hope and pray for your Dad’s success with all his treatments. You’re a wonderful daughter. 💐💕💫
I’m a retired hospital pharmacist- med rec is so frustrating…and never correct. I worked in the hospital 35 years. I know all the things we ‘do’ to try to care for our patients YET when my dad was an inpatient--in my hospital--I had to ‘argue and insist’ to get things done. And transferring from CCU to med floor! Wow!! That was bad. But the absolute worst was discharge from hospital to nursing home! I know how it’s supposed to work but it sure didn’t work like that. I think about so many patients that have no one to advocate for them ( and so few would have someone who was a pharmacist in THAT hospital for 23 yrs!!). It makes my heart hurt. Yet we must be hyper focused on making sure patients know what side effects they ‘might’ have, especially after I told them what they are. I’m done!! But I do appreciate you guys. Love listening and learning… You guys are so right! Thank you
My 4 pillars of health are: 1. Nutrition; you are what you eat, so eat a healthy diet. 2. Exercise; your body is designed to move, so you should move it in a significant way each day. 3. Stress management; Stress is a killer so learn to manage your stress. 4. Sleep; sleep is when your body repairs and cleans itself . Manage your sleep environment and get a good night's sleep.
I’m a family doctor. As a group, we practice pragmatic medicine and our conferences are usually fun and informative (high on practical application and collaboration rather than meaningless intellectual jousting). I thoroughly enjoy listening to you all as you confirm that I chose the right specialty 😅
You speak so much of my mind in medicine. It often feels as if I am alone in discussing the very same things in the hospital. Thank you for doing this!
This is literally the best thing to listen to for anyone in medicine and interested in health and health policy. I could listen to these three men talk for hours!!
Really missed Marty, and these 3 way discussions on current issues. They help me with my interactions with health care system. I've been subscribed to Z Dogg, and V, but these discussions are invaluable.
You guys were the only podcast I listened to during Covid . Thanx it’s important . And for gods sake keep talking. Not to remind everyone but like Z said , this can’t happen again .
I listened to Zubin's (just him) and he was positive that the new jabby was safe, safe, safe. The tech/research/all what was needed had been done over the previous ten years. Take it folks, he said. I did and am v injured, and THAT opened my eyes to SO MUCH evil in medicine, insurance, farmaaa, WHO, CDC, FDA, and all of it. HAS Zubin seen the light of his advice and stance? I was so mad, I haven't been back till tonight when YT suggested this trio.
DO NOT STOP THESE DISCUSSIONS!!!!! All three of you were voices of reason in an idiotic world during Covid. The fact that many of us did our own research and due diligence rather than blindly obeying the official narrative brought us to find the 3 of you. It is important that you continue to bring light to our nation's continuing health care and pharma madness. Thank you. 😊
The homeless absolutely hate the term "unhoused." A house implies shelter. A home implies stability and security. THAT's what people want. They want a home!
As a nonmedical professional you guys are amazing and scary all at the same time. Thank you for opening my mind to the inside context of the medical profession.
The APA has released new guidelines for returning to school after illness and the guidelines are the same as before Covid19 existed: 24 hours fever free without the use of antipyretics; not using any Covid test for making the determination. The guidelines should be the same for adults in the workplace setting. This is endemic and it’s time to treat it that way.
RN in Acute Med/Surg/Tele for 36 years. All my elderly patients, especially those who were 80-plus years old in my experience, who were not on a lot if any medications were the most alert, oriented , active , and capable of all their ADLs . My unsubstantiated opinion was, "Well, that's why they are doing so well , they are not on a lot of medications." The doctors would say,"It's because they are healthy that they don't need medication. " I still feel I was mostly right. You know us nurses😅. We actually had a small sign in the nurses' breakroom that said. "Remember doctors are not all that smart. Remember, 50 percent of them graduated in the bottom half of their class." Not you three, though. 😊 Seriously, much love and respect to all my medical colleagues.❤
I notice a trend in LTC… the residents on the least amount of pharmaceuticals are the healthiest, the most active, are at a normal weight, are the happiest, and live to be the oldest…. Those on many medication‘s, polypharmacy, are the most obese, with the most comorbidities, the most immobile, and the most unhappy😞
I so agree with you, Sister 🤝 A pill for everything has been the going thing for decades. It’s been 30yts for me. Finally will say bye-bye to all of this in a few months 🌄😇❤ 🙏✨👒😎⛵️
Love you take-no-prisoners mince-no-words hickory dickory docs --you give me hope and faith in Medicine! Wish you would pull some levers and make the changes we all want to see.
This video needs to play on a loop in all places where seniors gather; in all dental office waiting rooms; in all phys. therapy rooms; in social security offices,
Love listening to the 3 of you guys. Hope you will continue to push back against the current situation in medicin. We should be talking about how to have a healthier population, and not just how we pay to treat the symptoms of preventable and curable diseases.
I’m glad for this conversation too. However, like most media(mainstream or independent), there’s no internal push back. Everyone just stays in their echo chambers and talks *about* other people instead of talking TO them. This encourages the audience to do the same. Each of these guys have their own critics and I wish they would confront them directly instead of dismissing from a distance.
I just started getting my alerts for flu shots too here in SE Michigan corewell health system. Same Healthcare system that refuses to give me medical info on my kids once they turned 12. Everything is backwards
@saseeke it's system wide. Corewell has numerous hospitals, clinics, and additional facilities. Any doctor with privileges through corewell uses their emr so, in turn, any person that goes through a doctor affiliated with corewell has the same restrictions. If you Google corewell health proxy access for minor it explains it's restrictions. The alleged easy fix is simply asking their pcp to allow me full access but it's not a simple click. It's totally asinine
I caught covid in December 2020 went into the new year with flu like symptoms and loss of taste and smell. took the energy out of me.. but i recovered. my sense of smell and taste was distorted for a long while. unvaccinated haven't gotten sick ever since. but those who i know that have been vaccinated keep getting it...
My GP and I have a joint goal to keep me off daily medications. As I get older, lifestyle modifications are necessary but I’m not feeding the pharmaceutical machine and hope to keep it that way. I appreciate my doctor’s focus on me maintaining a healthy weight. If I gain weight, he will let me know I need to drop some by making modifications to diet and increasing exercise. Then I’m rewarded with kick ass blood work at my next visit.

With respect to the recent limited price control efforts for drugs, the most impactful part is that costs for 10 common drugs are capped for consumers. A former coworker died because he couldn't afford insulin. I've heard of many others. It's a start. Everything in our democracy will always be incremental.
Zdogg….I have personally known individual's who were priced out of their living situations in San Diego. Together, they came up with an alternative expression to homelessness which I thought was both funny & creative. They prefer: “Residentially Challenged”
My mother in law is on so many meds. Every time she goes to the doctor she gets put on another one and never taken off of any of them and they have ODed her on them a couple of times. Luckily we figured it out before it got too horrible.
That's all allopathic medicine is in the US anymore. You tell them your symptoms and they give a pharmaceutical drug. I have great insurance, but I only use it for preventative things that are covered in full like a physical or pap smear, or for surgery. For my actual health, I pay out of pocket at a functional medicine practice.
Since the mainstream media refuses to hold anyone accountable for acts and decisions that harmed millions, your willingness to talk about Covid is the only avenue people have. While everyone wants to move on, which is probably healthy, it’s vital that these conversations continue so at least some education can take place.
I would like to see more discussion on how we can bring the disciplines of preventive (Naturopathic) and medical care together. I believe there is a time and place for both but admit the medical community doesn’t have all the answers. For example, had I listened to my medical doctors, I’d be on thyroid medication. Over a four year period my TSH levels went from 4.5 to over 11 and my doctors wanted to put me on thyroid medication. Fortunately, I took the advice from naturopathy, changed my diet, and cut my TSH levels in half in 9 months and was down to 3.5 a year later. The issue was in my biome and the correct course of action was a low carb, high protein, and high vegetable diet with (initially) high intakes of probiotics…not thyroid medication.
From June to July Jardience went from $118 to $585 and they're celebrating success that they're going to pay like $95, they're claiming the savings is the reduction from $585 to $95 Obviously the drug company ratchet up the price prior to this agreement to make it look juicier
The pharmacy field has fallen to many of these same ideas. Pay $500 to an organization, and you have the opportunity to suddenly be more certified. However, if you want that organization to actually try protecting the profession, good luck.
Absolutely awesome episode! I have to admit though that I might have spaced out a bit during the COVID origins conversation. I just don’t know enough about it to know what my opinions really are. Second, the billing in pharmacy in the U.S. is weird. And small independent pharmacy is where it’s at too. 👏🏻
The statue Dr Makary mentioned is ridiculous and I avoid walking anywhere near that piece of artwork. Sadly, the ‘Home Depot’ comment does not surprise me.
I enjoyed and benefited from this discussion. I would like to suggest that you bear in mind that the majority (my guess) of your audience, like myself, are not medically trained. It would be very helpful if you could include more details in the transcript or explanations in your discussion. You each speak as medical professionals who understand the acronyms but some of it goes over my head. For example, I wanted to do further research on a few points (such as a word which sounded like Foya) but the terms used weren't clear enough to pursue further checking in Google. Nonetheless, keep up the excellent work of bringing these important issues to a broader audience. It reminds me (one of many examples) of Professor David Healy's books, articles and expert witness testimony on the inimical side effects of SSRIs, including Prozac.
Marty , so glad you got selected to be FDA commissioner!
The Three Musketeers are back 😄could listen & laugh with you guys all day ! Please get together more often !

I think Vinay is a national treasure 😊 All three actually 😊

49:30 Dr. P's proposal for Med Madness conference speakers playoff 🤣👍🏼🏆

You docs are such breaths of fresh air! ❤️❤️
37:00 "pancreatic cancer doubled" For this sentence to make any sense at all it needs a denominator, PER AGE GROUP
You guys were the only podcast I listened to during Covid . Thanx it’s important . And for gods sake keep talking. Not to remind everyone but like Z said , this can’t happen again .

Love VPZD + Marty! The best!! Great minds, great humor!!

OH WHAT A SURPRISE!!! It's been way way too many months. Love you all
I could watch the 3 of you all day long. You can tell you are having fun but you're also incredibly informative.
Love this trio. Not a dull moment!
Love these guys! So grateful for these iconoclastic warriors!
The APA has released new guidelines for returning to school after illness and the guidelines are the same as before Covid19 existed: 24 hours fever free without the use of antipyretics; not using any Covid test for making the determination. Love this! So much honesty and so fun to watch. Thank you for being ethical in such an unethical environment. 🙏🏻
Thanks for your wisdom and laughter!! Best 3 doctors on the planet!!
Looking forward to the next episode!!!
Not only do the three of you cut through the****but you are entertaining as well! Please get together more regularly!
I legitimately stoked when I opened TH-cam this evening and your three faces were awaiting me! Always a great show. Thank you!! Do it more!!!!!!
So glad to see this show back! Thanks to all three!
My favorite intellectual comedy team! 🎉
Two important questions when given a new RX. How long am I going to be taking this?, and What do I have to do to stope taking it?
As a healthcare worker I love you guys!!!
This came up on my TH-cam and I smiled ❤

I so agree with you, Sister 🤝
A pill for everything has been the going thing for decades. It’s been 30yts for me. Finally will say bye-bye to all of this in a few months 🌄😇❤
🙏✨👒😎⛵️
Marty is a hoot! It’s funny when you all get together.
Can’t wait to buy the book.
Great work here! I’m a family doc doing dpc. I’ve really enjoyed watching your episodes over the years.

On the Unhoused topic: When they're at an intersection holding a sign they write HOMELESS not unhoused.
I love you guys
I always get a feeling of catharsis after watching the three talk about medicine. Can't wait for the next one on the book.
Please you three do a live podcast at asco next summer ...
Love this episode
Just pre-ordered Marty’s book, can’t wait to read it!

Listened to this twice. Love the stories of governed inefficiency. We need a paralelle system
You are messing with everyone in the beginning and I love it because you make sincere medical points
I love watching you guys together
You 3 together do so much for the heart and soul! Much love❤
So happy right now ☺️
I just started getting my alerts for flu shots too here in SE Michigan corewell health system. Same Healthcare system that refuses to give me medical info on my kids once they turned 12. Everything is backwards
12 ? That’s kind of outrageous. Is that a hospital wide policy?
@saseeke it's system wide. Corewell has numerous hospitals, clinics, and additional facilities. Any doctor with privileges through corewell uses their emr so, in turn, any person that goes through a doctor affiliated with corewell has the same restrictions. If you Google corewell health proxy access for minor it explains it's restrictions. The alleged easy fix is simply asking their pcp to allow me full access but it's not a simple click. It's totally asinine
These guys are funny! Great show.
Love these guys!
love this trio!

We’re so back 🎊
Where oh where can us common folk find thoughtful doctors like the three of you???
As a LMT I have to renew my board certification every 2 years too and also have to have done CEU's, including CEU's in ethics, I have been a LMT for 16 years, if I don't know my ethics by now....
I agree with Vinay regarding the conference speakers.
Wow haven't tuned in for quite some time, glad to hear
CVS put my independent pharmacist out of business. I refuse to do business with them.
Marty, are you saying that you don’t believe Wet Market Theory? Please elaborate now that you have an FDA position!
I've said it before, I will say it again: Dr. Makary for Trump's Surgeon General!!
YES!!
Definitely
So good! Thank you!
OMG, I missed episodes 33, 34, 35, never saw any notifications!
@@snowps1 I absolutely agree. I straight up told my doctor I only do meds if absolutely necessary. I am on one mes for my thyroid.
Since the mainstream media refuses to hold anyone accountable for acts and decisions that harmed millions, your willingness to talk about Covid is the only avenue people have. While everyone wants to move on, which is probably healthy, it’s vital that these conversations continue so at least some education can take place.
I went to a hand specialist in August 2024 last week! And they are requiring masking still! I’m so sad to see medical doctors with no common sense!
I would like to see more discussion on how we can bring the disciplines of preventive (Naturopathic) and medical care together. I believe there is a time and place for both but admit the medical community doesn’t have all the answers. For example, had I listened to my medical doctors, I’d be on thyroid medication. Commenting from the UK, our govt appear intent on gradually changing our health care system intp a copy of yours in the US.
my daughter turned 2 and they told me she would need a flu shot and a covid shot.. for the winter.. we said no.
You need to learn to say no to all of their poison
Just saw a Paxlovid commercial on tv. Got Covid? PAXLOVID! The ad featured a barely sick- looking 40 y o chomping down her Paxlovid
From June to July Jardience went from $118 to $585 and they're celebrating success that they're going to pay like $95, they're claiming the savings is the reduction from $585 to $95
Obviously the drug company ratchet up the price prior to this agreement to make it look juicier
The pharmacy field has fallen to many of these same ideas. Pay $500 to an organization, and you have the opportunity to suddenly be more certified. However, if you want that organization to actually try protecting the profession, good luck.
lol I read that article on aging bursts too and thought, well, at 46 I’m safe for awhile 😂
Absolutely awesome episode! I have to admit though that I might have spaced out a bit during the COVID origins conversation. I just don’t know enough about it to know what my opinions really are. Stop taking drugs, my favourite line.
The statue Dr Makary mentioned is ridiculous and I avoid walking anywhere near that piece of artwork. Sadly, the ‘Home Depot’ comment does not surprise me.
Yaaaayyyyy!
And I just learned in this ep. Marty is a surgeon? Dang that’s great would love to hear his expertise
I had to look it up too

FOIA is freedom of information act
Really want one of those Sensible Medicine Tees!
Don’t forget the rebound Covid after taking Paxlovid.
I enjoyed this so much the comroderary was great
