"LED" TVs aren't LED TVs (they're just LCD TVs with an LED backlight) and "4K" isn't 4K (it's actually 3.84K), either.

Kamal Gill Mani00 you guys obviously don't know how cheaply you can make these things without them exploding... they are probably getting 300 dollars in profit for each sale.
My cousin got one for this past Christmas. It seemed easy, but it took quite a while to get used to and man, it's tough on your ankles.
They were banned for a few accidents. Bicycles haven't been banned and many more accidents happen with them.
But bicycles don't spontaneously burst into flames.
Electric ones do
The fact they burst into flames was a manufacturing fault as with any product. The vast majority of hover boards aren't faulty so there is no issue that every hover board might explode. Phones and laptops have the same lithium ion battery. You have probably seen videos of phones and laptops exploding but they have not been banned because, just like the hover board this is extremely rare (in terms of how many are produced) and is also caused my misuse. I'm not even sure that their explosiveness is what made them banned. Remember it is only in public places in some cities. Suggests the problem is people falling off their hover board or crashing into people on the street.

Bicycles don't have their battery packs (if we mention ebikes) stored next to the motor, therefore there's far lesser risk of overheating the batteries. Swegways, however, do. It's just poor engineering.
so the original segway company went bankrupt and these are selling like crazy. That's why market research is important. look at what removing a handlebar could have meant.

These hoverboards are way cool, I always keep one in the back of my hovercar! They wouldn't let me on the hoverbus with a hoverboard though, which is stupid, cause apparently the guy on the huge hoverchair and the lady with the double-hoverstroller were perfectly acceptable.

They're called hoverboards because Doc Brown went into the year 2015 from 1985 and saw that they existed. So to prevent a paradox from occurring, we had to invent a "hoverboard" so that the timeline will stay intact.

Have you guys considered making a video about real hover boards? Such as those made by HendoHover and Lexus that use quantum levitation or other methods? I think that would be quite interesting, and a necessary bit of content to hopefully overshadow the over-popularized combustible swegways.

This is the same thing that has happened to the terms "beta" and "console-exclusive", with regards to video games. Why don't they just call them gliders? I mean, I know even that isn't 100% accurate either but it's a HELL of a lot more accurate than "Hoverboard" (in that it's not an OUTRIGHT LIE!) and it still sounds pretty cool (i.e. marketable).

I hate to break it to you, but these boards often don't use gyros. The way that they keep them so cheap is that they use switches to turn the wheels on or off. this means that they don't have to do any math, they can save cash on sensors, and they can leave the "computing" to the human (because humans are way better at balancing then computers) rather than a micro processor.
