When you learn to sharpen and then keep a knife honed it will change your life in the kitchen (A good sharing trick is to go harder than you think in the beginning and softer than you think in the end)
My Polish mom showed me how to do this 40 some years ago. Onions are done this way as well, just keep the root attached so the onion doesn’t fall apart when you’re cutting it. I do the same sort of technique with my hot Hungarian peppers, works great!
Gordon ramsay is one with his knife, basically maxed out the starter pack from start to finish. Since someone else is using a gordon ramsay type of knife, they need to refine the blade and skills from the beginning
This is my 5th time asking pls try my cookie recipe 1 cup of Butter (2 sticks)(softened) 1 cup of sugar 2/3 of a cup of packed brown sugar 1 cup of peanut butter 2 tsp of vanilla extract 2 eggs 2 cups of flour 1 cup of old fashion oats 2 tsp of baking soda 1/2 tsp of salt 2 cups of chocolate chips Cream together butter and sugars. Then beat in the peanut butter, egg and vanilla extract. Combine flour and oats, baking soda, and salt. Now put in chocolate, bake for 12-13 minutes at temperature 350 in the oven. Let cool for 2 and a half minutes.
Fun fact. Gordon Ramsey has also shown similar way to cut tomatoes in a salad in a much similar fashion with less slices (9). This makes eating tomato based salads easier without the person stuffing a huge tomato piece in their mouth (this way they can eat all of the salads veggies in one normal bite)
I’ve been citing my onions likes this for years
i find it easier to cut the tomato in half just like with an onion
Are you citing them in MLA format?
Same
You guys got formats to cut veggies and fruits??🤡💀💀
@@sinijoseph9817 you missed the joke
At least he didn't say "Thank you Gordon for cheeching me how to cut tomatoes" this time🤣
bruh 😂
Geniius cutting ability? 😂😅😂😅😂😅😂
Tip: use a larger sharp knife with ridges on the blade. Their design so it creates little air pockets so the tomatoes don’t stick to the blade.
Also he’s sawing with the blade 😫
a santoku!! good all rounder for vegetable prep and cooking overall
@@treymorton2882it’s called slicing

"Knife kinda weak though" no, you just used the wrong knife
Tried this with a weak ass knife n just got a smushed tomato
Get a whetstone and sharpen it

That really excites u dude. SAME AS AN ONION.. UR A GENIUS CHEF
That was how my mom always cut tomatoes for salads and sauces. Never knew Gordon did it too.
As far as I know...
Ramsey didn't even know my grandma.
He must be a peeping tom.
We making tomato ketchup with this one
Those grooves definitely help avoid having the flesh of that tomato get crushed during the dicing.
Oh god, not knives *again*
Happy new year from straya
Bro sounds more like Donald Trump than Gordon.😂😂
My mom always does this
Effectictivness of the way you cut smth depends oh the sharpness of your knife
That's how my mama cut tomatoes and that's how I cut them too
He teaches you how to cut them but you are still saying 'tom-a-toes' instead of 'tom-ah-toss' 😂
Man...Grandma showed us how to dice tomatoes and onions holding them in our hand!!!
Gordon taught you that!?..
The one who taught me that was my mom.
This is the way Linda McCartney taught people how to cut onions! She did it on the ‘80’s or maybe’70’s.
An amazing diced tomato

My knife isn't able to cut the skin side of tomato that smoothly
dawg chill, why you coming up on me 😂😂😂
"would ya LOOK at it??" (You just gotta look at it. )
Why he sound more like Donald Trump than Gordon when he did the impression 😂
That knife seems a bit dull
This is like so ancient a technique
I shouldn’t be here this early
Good luck cleaning juice out of your wooden cutting board, use tiny bit soap and water on damp rag
Wow crazy, it's almost the exact same thing that you do on an onion. Mindblowing
This guy is obv trolling 😂
Bro got that knife used. shit is chipped

So satisfying
Use a serrated knife like a chad to get even better dice
Can you make a restourant
My mom is my Gordon
En un trabajo real en cocina, nadie lo hace así.
1st of the year and a good one!
Let's use a dull knife??
I cut in half to scoop out seeds first with smal spoon. No one likes mushy tomato seeds in pico de gallo.
Been doing this before food network
I was today's year old when i realized u bought Gordon Ramsay knives
this is just how to cut cubed tomatoes but make it sound fancy by adding gordon ramsey
Can u do honduras favorite food
Me eating my flat sliced tomatoes in shame 😢
that's cool but I think u gonna need a little bit bigger knife and sharper too
Didn't realise Ramsey was Australian.

"i din't no this method exists"
My honest reaction is: *bruh*
tomato to onion transformation
Siri, do you rooting the tomato sorry to the theater
Thats so unnecessarily complicated. No wonder Gordon Ramsey does it like that.
I'v been cutting onions like that since I was born 😭
Would be easier with a bigger knife. Also, great Australian accent there mate haha. I mean when he said "If you ask me"
This is how my mama taught me to dice potatoes, tomatoes and unions :) no billionaire chef needed
Why weren't your fingers curled inward thats knife cutting 101
wow that’s crazy i was cutting it wrong the whole time lol
not a bad effort with a blunt knife
It's fucking raw
It depend the sharpness of knife
This is still a struggle. At least the way you tried in the video. In a restaurant we have to be quick and fast.
Now pls make salata with that slicing technique
this aint no gordon ramsay way
"You donut"
Big! Red! Spicy!
Uncle rojer be like 😭
My only question is how else could you possibly dice a tomatoe???
Happy new year
No one cuts tomatoes like this in a restaurant. You have tools made specifically for this. But for at home anything goes
