Thanks for recommendations. We were on North Shore and must've found the most boring place to eat. It had food reviews and they also have a place in Waikiki, but ruined our day.

She can't pronounce "Haleiwa" correctly (and not ALL "w" sounds are pronounced like [v] in Hawaiian), and she didn't seem to know what huli huli chicken was -- Don't think she's a local girl. Maybe she lived or visited Hawai'i when she was young, but she sounds like she was raised on the mainland.
