Wendy being left alone "dying" while everyone is cheering and happy, she lipsyncing "freedom", her leaving while the shows not over. Poetic cinema 🤌 And the animation. God. So much to breakdown from this piece. This one is the most well integrated from Comic plot line to musical number by far. The line "we must break slavery" and "soliders crying freedom" putting an emphisis on Wendy implying that this isn't just an audition for Ratian representation, in which almost all of the americans are Ratians in this piece which is already significant, but also to free Wendy from her fathers hold. The fact that Queenie is the spy when was already spying in the main narrative, adds the weight of that choice I'm not sure what flag Gabrielle is holding but I think the piece implies it's not only Eugene who immigrated to the states for theater The fact the general of the red coats is Wendy's dad and that George Washington is played by Ms Veronica implying they have a larger war in play and that the main cast is caught in the cross fire The fact that Hamilton's wife is played by Alex who told Eugene to get the lead role AND showed great implied romantic interest possibly foreshadowing a plot line Wendy leaving as if to surrender to what ever holds the same way she's found dead in the middle of the piece This hold the most amount past threads woven in and so much implied and future threads setup for the future It didn't tug my heartstrings like the last one but the choreography, narrative setup, and implications makes this one the turning point and the breather people need before the big hammer comes down.... and I'm scared from what this song sets up in the future within hamilton the musical and what that implies for the narrative God you and your team are doing excellent work keep it up
I think this signifies Eugene getting the part in the Musical Pipers, and the other Ratians celebrating that they're finally being given a chance. That's my interpretation.
Despite Wait For Me having the biggest impact on me out of these. This is the overall BEST animatic out of them all. It’s the best paced, it has the smoothest animation, it has the best single shots, the best moments. It has everything you could ask for

This is even more impactful after reading the comic. The first time I ever saw this, I thought it looked cool, but knowing the Musical Pipers story behind it makes it even more breathtaking!
How do all our 3 leads have so much swag in this one? xD Queenie especially is just LIVING IT UP as Hercules! Also, verry smart to give Wendy to role of Laurens, a character that after this doesn't "really" apear in the musical, besides beeing mentioned, anymore. It ties in well with her distancing herself from the group, and leaves thematicly open doors for her return should she "invent herself new" (aka, get the courage to stand up to her father despite everything) since the actor who plays Laurens comes back later in the story to play a new charackter, Philip. Also, also, was that Alex as Eliza, or am I tripping? Becouse if so, and depending on how far this was thought out, I sense danger. Becouse Eliza is a character that tries to remove herself from the story after beeing "betrayed" (cheated on) by Alex, who is played by Eugene here. I don't want Alex to end up in a place where he could feel betrayed by Eugene! Kid JUST started having faith in her! Also, also, also, don't think I didn't see her at 4:31 ! That's the bullie that tripped Ann and got her and Alex kicked out of the theater! In your face, blondie!
This was _the single_ best Animatic you've released so far! Eugene's active enthusiasm, the incredible action of the fights, _Queenie--_ I mean, _Hercules Mulligan..._ But most importantly of all, the very end. They _won._ Eugene did it! _They turned the world upside down._ Whatever the hell else Wendy's father thinks... he is _not_ winning without one _hell_ of a fight. Rambu, you're a genius beyond compare. And I can't _wait_ to read this story to the very very end!

I don't think I've seen anyone commenting on the audience reaction at 4:31? In Episode 20, there's a woman in the audience who purposefully trips Anne, leading to Alex's blowup and the Robert Grimm students being ejected from the auditions. In this audience reaction, we see that same woman watching the end of the performance with a captivated expression. I can't help but wonder how this will impact things going forward! This whole animatic is simply phenomenal, Rambu! As always, your attention to all the little details and your amazing execution have created a video I can't help but keep coming back to watch! I immediately binge-read your webtoon and animations in a few hours, and I am BLOWN AWAY by how well that context enriches these animatics, while they still awe alone. the fight scenes were GOD-TIER (ESPECIALLY the sequence with the canon and eugene's quick draw shot, holy shit-) but can we talk about the hercules/queenie intro sequence?????? Okay, this animatic blew my expectations out of the water. Like WOW. I'm going to make a long as heck comment on the scenes, symbolisms I think I caught and thoughts on what is going to happen from now on. So please bear with me and I'll fix any errors once I'm on my laptop. *Characters* Eugene as Alexander Hamilton. OFC she plays the main role, but what symbolises here is how she leads not only the Robert Grimm High students to having a chance on stage, but also all Ratians. She will lead them to victory. Also, like Hamilton, she had an unhappy childhood where she thinks she won't get a good life, but she has her friends with her to get through everything and get what she wants: to perform Gabrielle as Marquis de Lafayette Queenie as Hercules Mulligan Wendy as John Laurens Eugene's friends. Like Hamilton having a group of friends who're there for him, these are the ones there for her. I'll get to how their role fits their character and story in a bit. Dr. W. As George Washington Other than being a strict teacher of the class, Dr. W. Kinda trust Eugene, so with this, Eugene is like Dr. W's right-hand man so then they can get a hopeful future for Ratians and be treated right. Alex as Elizabeth Schuyler Not really shippy, but more like Alex waiting for Eugene to win and get the main role to prove everyone wrong. *Scenes and Symbolisms* 0:11 I was hoping History Has Its Eyes On You would make it in here, and I was not disappointed! Because right now, History does have its eyes on Eugene. Everyone is watching and judging her every move, hoping she makes any mistake for them to fail her. But right now, Eugene is here to make History to get the main role for not just her sake, but every Ratians. 0:45 The Lafayette and Hamilton scene highlights how Gabrielle always pushes Eugene to be the one in the spotlight, despite him having a better chance at the main role. 1:06 onwards. Eugene refuses to give up her shot for the main role as she prepares to lead the Ratians to what they should have the right to like everyone else. Further along, she reflects on her life, and the friends she met, and that Alex (as Eliza) is waiting for her to get the main role for everyone's sake. 2:25 Okay, everyone screamed for Queenie to be Hercules, and again, NOT DISAPPOINTED. The energy she emits in the way she moves and poses are PERFECT. Other than her personality and power being perfect for this role, but it's also because she knows Wendy's dad's secret, so she is indeed "a spy." 2:44 onwards. Not an analysis on the symbolism but HOLY CRAP THE FRAME SHOTS, ANGLES AND MOVEMENTS for the battle scenes. HOW?!? You really out did yourself! 3:20 I'll say what I have to say about Wendy as Laurens here. Wendy is Eugene's best and closest friend. And like the Hamilton Musical fandom, some ships the two girls together like shipping Hamilton and Laurens together. Wendy fighting in South Carolina is the same as her fighting for her main role in another team. However, she's getting killed over it. I'm not saying she'll die, but basically her existence and identity as herself is killed off if not completely over what is forced on her. 3:54 onwards. The world is turned upside down thanks to Eugene. Needless to say (and hopefully what this animatic is showing), Eugene and her team won. The Ratians "performing" are reacting to the news that Eugene basically defied all expectations and won for them. Even the audience (including the Heather Chandler rip off) are moved and in awe by her performance. Wendy's asshat of a father isn't, but who knows what he's scheming under that smile. Wendy leaving is either because it's her turn to perform next, or that she cannot cheer for Eugene in front of her father. And at the end of it all, this amazing performance, is all done by Eugene herself. *Thoughts on what will happen* Unless there's some BS on saying why Eugene and her team didn't win and not allowing her to get the main role, she basically won. As the song said, the world is turned upside down because of her. The Ratians are cheering for her. The audience are amazed by how a Ratian can perform. If there is a chance the higher ups try to sabotage Eugene's grades on her performance, I think Queenie, "the spy" will leak the video she caught on Wendy's father to bring his downfall (which is risky). It's all risky for Wendy though, because even if she's set to win, it will be rigged. So she will ultimately lose either way. In my opinion, Wendy is never meant to win (unless again, rigged), because she always had Eugene's help to study on how to play the characters for their performance. She doesn't have that anymore. Okay! That's the end of my ramble! Amazing work! This is a super long comment, but your series and animatic deserves an essay written! I wish you an amazing day and get some time to rest! 1:40 OH. Eliza is the goth rat who got kicked out....and she and the Ratian Grimm schoolkids are "expecting" Eugene to get the lead role...and do a great job. It shows the pressures she's under. And once Eugene does well, goth mouse girl (sorry I just started the comic a few hours ago, don't have names memorized yet!) is happy for her! And Eugene is relieved that she did good! Plus Dr. Wolfgang is in more performances (in part bc the cast expands--rather than just Wendy and Eugene from "Defying Gravity") because she's got plenty at stake, since the principal is threatening her job and the Grimm school.

The story that was told in this animation was perfect as usual. Something I’m realizing is that every pair of roles which the Eugene/Wendy duo end in tragedy/separation. The nature of the tragedies are interesting as well, as I think they represent each character + their part in the eventual falling out. (Brief spoilers for Wicked, Dear Evan Hansen, Beetlejuice, Hadestown, and Hamilton.) Elphaba and Glinda was a friendship/(implied romantic) relationship which fell apart when Elphaba (Eugene) found out the truth about Oz and the Wizard. Elphaba left her home, becoming the Wicked Witch of the West, while Glinda stayed, living in regret of not being able to go with Elphaba. Evan and Zoey (who we briefly see in Waving Through A Window) are a friendship/(later)romantic relationship that falls apart after Evan (Eugene) reveals the truth about Connor’s death. Zoey’s family cuts contact with Evan, but the musical ends with the two meeting again, their relationship unmended but the two coming to an understanding. Evan’s story ends in self-acceptance. Lydia and Beetlejuice is less tragic, but the two realized their friendship is a bit messed up when, after Beetlejuice becomes human, Lydia (Wendy) literally backstabs him to kill him. She expresses remorse but feels as if she had to do it, and the two part ways as Beetlejuice’s ghost goes off on a self-discovery journey. Lydia’s story ends with a mended (found) family. Orpheus and Eurydice are lovers, and when Eurydice dies, Orpheus ventures to the Underworld to rescue her. Hades promises them that, if they can make it to the surface without Orpheus looking back (not knowing if Eurydice’s following) then she can live. The musical ends with Orpheus’s (Wendy)‘s fear and paranoia getting the best of him and he looks back, unintentionally betraying Eurydice and killing her. Hamilton and Laurens are best friends and could have arguably been lovers. The two die apart from each other, both in distance and in years. It’s outside circumstances that lead to Laurens (Wendy)‘s death and Hamilton’s (Eugene)‘s subsequent deterioration. I think it’s neat how the animatics foreshadow Eugene and Wendy’s relationship based on the characters they play.
I've said this before and I'll say as many times as I have to till the world recognizes it. Rambu is an animation GOD. Since their first Musical Piper animatic she's done nothing but perfect masterpieces and somehow they just keep improving. It's almost been a bit over a year since we were blessed with Defying Gravity. She's everything I wish I could be and one of my biggest inspirations.
Every time I watch one of these. I feel like I’m gonna cry form how good it is. It’s so well planned out, there are some shots that are literally breathtaking, and the characters have so much life and expression! I know this sounds corny and what everyone says about these things but I really do sincerely think these animatics are the best kind out there.
I may be a week late but I'm still going to keep my record of praising every animatic! It was incredible! Your dynamic movements got even better and it made the fighting so fluid and I could feel the power behind every hit, dodge, and shot. Expertly put together, emotion, physical power, and locations all working in tandum to make something amazing!
The atmosphere of this animatic was so fun to watch and I love how each animatic matches the vibe of each song! The comic kind of layouts were a great way to illustrate past events while maintaining the action-packed vibe it was amazing!!!

Also, verry smart to give Wendy to role of Laurens, a character that after this doesn't "really" apear in the musical, besides beeing mentioned, anymore. It ties in well with her distancing herself from the group, and leaves thematicly open doors for her return should she "invent herself new" (aka, get the courage to stand up to her father despite everything) since the actor who plays Laurens comes back later in the story to play a new charackter, Philip.
Also, also, was that Alex as Eliza, or am I tripping?
Becouse if so, and depending on how far this was thought out, I sense danger. Becouse Eliza is a character that tries to remove herself from the story after beeing "betrayed" (cheated on) by Alex, who is played by Eugene here. I don't want Alex to end up in a place where he could feel betrayed by Eugene! Kid JUST started having faith in her!
Also, also, also, don't think I didn't see her at 4:31 ! That's the bullie that tripped Ann and got her and Alex kicked out of the theater! In your face, blondie!

This was _the single_ best Animatic you've released so far! Eugene's active enthusiasm, the incredible action of the fights, _Queenie--_ I mean, _Hercules Mulligan..._ But most importantly of all, the very end. They _won._ Eugene did it! _They turned the world upside down._ Whatever the hell else Wendy's father thinks... he is _not_ winning without one _hell_ of a fight.

I don't think I've seen anyone commenting on the audience reaction at 4:31? In Episode 20, there's a woman in the audience who purposefully trips Anne, leading to Alex's blowup and the Robert Grimm students being ejected from the auditions. In this audience reaction, we see that same woman watching the end of the performance with a captivated expression. I can't help but wonder how this will impact things going forward!

Okay, this animatic blew my expectations out of the water. Like WOW. I'm going to make a long as heck comment on the scenes, symbolisms I think I caught and thoughts on what is going to happen from now on. So please bear with me and I'll fix any errors once I'm on my laptop.
*Characters*
Eugene as Alexander Hamilton.
OFC she plays the main role, but what symbolises here is how she leads not only the Robert Grimm High students to having a chance on stage, but also all Ratians. She will lead them to victory. Also, like Hamilton, she had an unhappy childhood where she thinks she won't get a good life, but she has her friends with her to get through everything and get what she wants: to perform
Gabrielle as Marquis de Lafayette
Queenie as Hercules Mulligan
Wendy as John Laurens
Eugene's friends. Like Hamilton having a group of friends who're there for him, these are the ones there for her. I'll get to how their role fits their character and story in a bit.
Dr. W. As George Washington
Other than being a strict teacher of the class, Dr. W. Kinda trust Eugene, so with this, Eugene is like Dr. W's right-hand man so then they can get a hopeful future for Ratians and be treated right.
Alex as Elizabeth Schuyler
Not really shippy, but more like Alex waiting for Eugene to win and get the main role to prove everyone wrong.
*Scenes and Symbolisms*
0:11 I was hoping History Has Its Eyes On You would make it in here, and I was not disappointed! Because right now, History does have its eyes on Eugene. Everyone is watching and judging her every move, hoping she makes any mistake for them to fail her. But right now, Eugene is here to make History to get the main role for not just her sake, but every Ratians.
0:45 The Lafayette and Hamilton scene highlights how Gabrielle always pushes Eugene to be the one in the spotlight, despite him having a better chance at the main role.
1:06 onwards. Eugene refuses to give up her shot for the main role as she prepares to lead the Ratians to what they should have the right to like everyone else. Further along, she reflects on her life, and the friends she met, and that Alex (as Eliza) is waiting for her to get the main role for everyone's sake.
2:25 Okay, everyone screamed for Queenie to be Hercules, and again, NOT DISAPPOINTED. The energy she emits in the way she moves and poses are PERFECT. Other than her personality and power being perfect for this role, but it's also because she knows Wendy's dad's secret, so she is indeed "a spy."
2:44 onwards. Not an analysis on the symbolism but HOLY CRAP THE FRAME SHOTS, ANGLES AND MOVEMENTS for the battle scenes. HOW?!? You really out did yourself!
3:20 I'll say what I have to say about Wendy as Laurens here. Wendy is Eugene's best and closest friend. And like the Hamilton Musical fandom, some ships the two girls together like shipping Hamilton and Laurens together. Wendy fighting in South Carolina is the same as her fighting for her main role in another team. However, she's getting killed over it. I'm not saying she'll die, but basically her existence and identity as herself is killed off if not completely over what is forced on her.
3:54 onwards. The world is turned upside down thanks to Eugene. Needless to say (and hopefully what this animatic is showing), Eugene and her team won. The Ratians "performing" are reacting to the news that Eugene basically defied all expectations and won for them. Even the audience (including the Heather Chandler rip off) are moved and in awe by her performance. Wendy's asshat of a father isn't, but who knows what he's scheming under that smile. Wendy leaving is either because it's her turn to perform next, or that she cannot cheer for Eugene in front of her father.
And at the end of it all, this amazing performance, is all done by Eugene herself.
*Thoughts on what will happen*
Unless there's some BS on saying why Eugene and her team didn't win and not allowing her to get the main role, she basically won. As the song said, the world is turned upside down because of her. The Ratians are cheering for her. The audience are amazed by how a Ratian can perform. If there is a chance the higher ups try to sabotage Eugene's grades on her performance, I think Queenie, "the spy" will leak the video she caught on Wendy's father to bring his downfall (which is risky).
It's all risky for Wendy though, because even if she's set to win, it will be rigged. So she will ultimately lose either way. In my opinion, Wendy is never meant to win (unless again, rigged), because she always had Eugene's help to study on how to play the characters for their performance. She doesn't have that anymore.
Okay! That's the end of my ramble! Amazing work! This is a super long comment, but your series and animatic deserves an essay written! I wish you an amazing day and get some time to rest! Looking forward to your next updates! Cheers!

1:40 OH. Eliza is the goth rat who got kicked out....and she and the Ratian Grimm schoolkids are "expecting" Eugene to get the lead role...and do a great job. It shows the pressures she's under. And once Eugene does well, goth mouse girl (sorry I just started the comic a few hours ago, don't have names memorized yet!) is happy for her! And Eugene is relieved that she did good!
Plus Dr. Wolfgang is in more performances (in part bc the cast expands--rather than just Wendy and Eugene from "Defying Gravity") because she's got plenty at stake, since the principal is threatening her job and the Grimm school.

Your style has such an inspired energy, you have a wonderful sense of dynamic and scale, and your angles and rhythm match each song choice perfectly. Something I’m realizing is that every pair of roles which the Eugene/Wendy duo end in tragedy/separation. The nature of the tragedies are interesting as well, as I think they represent each character + their part in the eventual falling out.
(Brief spoilers for Wicked, Dear Evan Hansen, Beetlejuice, Hadestown, and Hamilton.)
Elphaba and Glinda was a friendship/(implied romantic) relationship which fell apart when Elphaba (Eugene) found out the truth about Oz and the Wizard. Elphaba left her home, becoming the Wicked Witch of the West, while Glinda stayed, living in regret of not being able to go with Elphaba.
Evan and Zoey (who we briefly see in Waving Through A Window) are a friendship/(later)romantic relationship that falls apart after Evan (Eugene) reveals the truth about Connor’s death. Zoey’s family cuts contact with Evan, but the musical ends with the two meeting again, their relationship unmended but the two coming to an understanding. Evan’s story ends in self-acceptance.
Lydia and Beetlejuice is less tragic, but the two realized their friendship is a bit messed up when, after Beetlejuice becomes human, Lydia (Wendy) literally backstabs him to kill him. She expresses remorse but feels as if she had to do it, and the two part ways as Beetlejuice’s ghost goes off on a self-discovery journey. Lydia’s story ends with a mended (found) family.
Orpheus and Eurydice are lovers, and when Eurydice dies, Orpheus ventures to the Underworld to rescue her. Hades promises them that, if they can make it to the surface without Orpheus looking back (not knowing if Eurydice’s following) then she can live. The musical ends with Orpheus’s (Wendy)‘s fear and paranoia getting the best of him and he looks back, unintentionally betraying Eurydice and killing her.
Hamilton and Laurens are best friends and could have arguably been lovers. The two die apart from each other, both in distance and in years. It’s outside circumstances that lead to Laurens (Wendy)‘s death and Hamilton’s (Eugene)‘s subsequent deterioration.
I think it’s neat how the animatics foreshadow Eugene and Wendy’s relationship based on the characters they play.
I've said this before and I'll say as many times as I have to till the world recognizes it. Rambu is an animation GOD. Since their first Musical Piper animatic she's done nothing but perfect masterpieces and somehow they just keep improving. It's almost been a bit over a year since we were blessed with Defying Gravity. She's everything I wish I could be and one of my biggest inspirations.
Every time I watch one of these. I feel like I’m gonna cry form how good it is. It’s so well planned out, there are some shots that are literally breathtaking, and the characters have so much life and expression! I know this sounds corny and what everyone says about these things but I really do sincerely think these animatics are the best kind out there.
I may be a week late but I'm still going to keep my record of praising every animatic! It was incredible! Your dynamic movements got even better and it made the fighting so fluid and I could feel the power behind every hit, dodge, and shot. Expertly put together, emotion, physical power, and locations all working in tandum to make something amazing!
