Just fixed the issue by repairing the broken wire with some wire connectors I had laying around, the part (1GQ92DX9AC) is $80 online in case it decides to fail again. Thanks for the vid.
Thank you for the video but for anyone watching, the bolt that holds this on is a t-50 torx. Yes a 1/4" allen will fit loosely but you run the risk of stripping the bolt head. Once you get the buckle off you can fix it yourself if you know how to solder. On mine I was able to solder the red wire back together and tape everything up so it doesn't move around so much which is what causes the wires to break in the first place.
Thank you, I am a female and they just quoted me $452.00 for do this for me...........UH I will be doing it myself as soon as the part arrives......Thank you!
The part cost 100.00 bucks, the old part small wire next to the buckle red or black breaks turns light on. The new part like old takes a T45 torks, new part had a shorter bolt, had to use old bolt from old part you might run into.🤔😉🤗 The cover has a small torks screw that keeps the cover on😉.
So replacing it would stop the chime & turn off the light? Good lol I thought I had to go to a dealership and get it activated or something lol so it’s a quick plug & play? ALSO. When I don’t have it on it doesn’t display my car’s speed because it gives me the seatbelt message, I hope it takes that off too.
I followed this step by step to replace the buckle on my 2015 grand Cherokee and everything worked great. Thanks man 🙏

Yeah I realized this the hard way and almost stripped it. Had to go by a torx once I got the back panel off and could see the bolt
Honestly thank you for getting straight to the point and not rambling on and not starting video with a stupid intro. Very helpful rhank you
Just wondering if this makes the check engine light go on after swapping

Hey drew. Do you think that this replacement would be almost identical for a 2007 Grand Cherokee Laredo
