I love Pachabel's Canon. The first Nowell is my favourite Christmas Carol. Put them together - absolutely beautiful. Not come across this setting before, but wonderful.
Thank you. I love this arrangement by Michale Clawson. Our choir enjoyed singing it. Hopefully, we will be able to get together again soon and sing again.
Thank You Mr. Michael Clawson! I'm so glad you liked it. I love this arrangement. It is so beautiful. We just came back from NY and had the privilege of singing with Mark Hayes at Carnegie Hall as part of DCINY to New York City performing his International Carol Suites.
Re-learning this behind visors to perform this Christmas with Tinderbox Choir in Matlock Derbyshire, (England). This is a beautiful performance ... and a great template for tone-deaf me. Thanks for posting
Pachelbel's Canon in D never fails to make me cry. Here you have added some extra 'ingredients' which also could not make any difference. What can be done when the music is fantastic ( other than to enjoy it)? Thanks, I have enjoyed it thoroughly.
This arrangement, or mash-up, ruins two songs. It is very nicely performed, but an unfortunate choice. Give me the traditional Parker-Shaw edition (from my madrigal choir days at the university) or simply a good unison version for congregation and organ, with a soaring descant on the final verse. Brass would be a nice addition. I am so sick of hearing the boring Pachebel's Canon for weddings, I can't bear the thought of performing it again in any form or context. Last year, some parents requested Pachebel for the processional at the Graduation mass. I told them I had already programmed the traditional Elgar for the processional (because it is expected) and "Gaudeamus Igitur" for the recessional (alternating the verses with organ improvisation and choral verses in sung in Latin by the school choir). P's Canon would have come off like a funeral procession in either spot. The graduates voted to choose the hymns themselves. They were surprisingly traditional: (Offertory: Veni Creator Spiritus, Communion: How Great Thou Art, Meditation: the chant Salve Regina, and closing: Jesus Christ is Risen Today). The school choir, graduates, and congregation chanted the Missa de Angelis.
Sorry, I didn't see your comment for some reason. All comments are appreciated and I do like to respond in a timely manner. The Hymns you mentioned are beautiful as well with everything we do have different tastes when it comes to music. Our choir enjoyed singing this version of First Noel/ Pachelbel Canon. I listen to some of the music you mentioned and it sounds like it was not an easy program for the choir to learn. Nice variety. Sadly we won't be singing as a choir for a while unless it is done virtually.
This was a very beautiful rendition of blending 2 songs together. Have a blessed day.
It's been 10 years now. Ah the memory when I was in choir class in high school. We perform this song. Good times.
I'm 13 and we Sang this song in choir

Beautiful rendition. Nice execution. And, it also proves that Weebles DO wobble and they DON'T fall down. Beautifully done Kelowna.
I like almost anything that goes with Pachebel's Canon! This quite a blessing this year.
If you have not heard it -- look up the vid "MUST WATCH! Choir Sings Pachelbel Canon Medley."

I couldn't disagree with you more. I think this is absolutely stunning and ingenious. I can't imagine anyone criticizing it.
