the industrial lamps/desk lamps are selling for 200euros here in France! not even highly cleaned up, so you could just sell them in France and Uk with less shipping
Great to hear from you again! Those arę fairly available around Herę. what arę the most desirable Ones? If i knew more about lighting id definitely focus on it.
@@brickandsole 3 of us looked at several lights at a big Brocante/flea market this weekend; as dealers we turned them down at 200 but we all 3 independently looked at them! so at the right price for dealers they would be buying and reselling
@@imaginetraveltours i was thinking i would set up a pinterest board and post all the interesting early industrial lights that are posted in local adds here. Over a period of a month or two. To get oriented on availability and local pricing. I could also include the asking price they are listing with the ad which would be my aquisition price minus courier delivery (minimal). That could be a place to discuss whether there would be possible interest. for volume at trade prices for dealers or not. Could also set up a board for mcm lighting as well. Could be a good learning and discussion tool.
Stuff that gets damaged or destroyed in the process of us doing business is just a hazard of the business. Something that has sat in one place and survived for a 100 years that we then remove and break by accident is just a fact of life. Mistakes get made, accidents happen. Just learn from them and go on, you can't punish yourself for such events. Life happens. Granted, it is frustrating and disappointing, but if you dwell on such events you waste your time and will have problems moving forward with business. I used to want to "save it all", but the fact of the matter that is not realistic. Looking forward to seeing/hearing more about your journey in getting the container full and sent over to the US. Its something I have contemplated doing in the past, but maybe exporting from countries where I wouldn't be dealing so much with a language barrier, like England, Ireland, Scotland. I personally decided to stick with what I know, which is picking the countryside and cities here. Haven't gotten any notifications about a community tab yet.
Bear Hardcore Picker channel is right there, I think if you get just a few more subscribers, it will happen, I am guessing around 400. That is when it happened for me. They haven't posted an official count requirement yet and they are being a little bit obscure and opaque about it. It will be great for both of our channels, It think it could be a really good fit for our format for engaging with people, and also marketing stuff we have available. It is not expensive to source and ship from over here if you have roots, help, a foothold in the country, but if you dont, there is a lot of extra cost, storing, paying higher prices to meet shipping deadlines etc. There are companies that give deals on shipping single pallets. I'll talk about that in one of my upcoming vids. Could be a way to start.
I like how you broke it down to quarters it's an easy way to calculate when buying antiques. Why don't you increase 1 ore even 2 quarters for restoration costs and damage by shipping? Even if you you do it yourself like that lamp for example rewiring and cleaning it up for sale it's still time and work (labor) that you invested in the items.
Yeah, you are right there will be some cost there as well. Still new to this. Those costs are still in the unknown category. Hopefully 25% wont be negotiated off of every item leaving a little wiggle room. Time will tell. I will post it all here!
Why don’t you rent a barn from one of the local farmers? When I lived in Poland there was plenty of entry buildings to rent cheap. Kutno comes to mind.
Great content and practical info. Thanks! It's a shame the video has attracted so few views so far though... Just a small syggestion. Maybe you could make your videos a bit more entertaining for the people, some more of the simple stuff like what you did with the quarters appearing on the screen at some point, maybe some background music or sound effects etc. I believe some of these things wouldn't require too much time and efforts for making them. At least I hope so ))
Thanks petro! great to hear from you again. Hope all is well with your family and loved ones. You are totally right. Ill need to put a little more effort (at least creativity and watchability) in the videos to grow the channel. Ill make that my goal for 2023. My macbook just finally died so it will take a bit of time.
I think your goals are mixed up …. You are doomed to be a junk collector.. Clear out the space…take junk to the dump.. fix the roof of the building first.. I don’t like just piling junk on garbage with a leaking roof..
You have definitely earned it 🎉❤🎉
I like the fact they gave us the community page. Its awesome.

@@brickandsole the most crude or rough surface. not the 70s enamel, the 30-40s industrial real work shop style

I just had a new building installed on our property. So I currently have storage. That would be an option otherwise.
