Thank you so much for posting these videos of your process. I’m going through a similar situation with SARPE surgery and an expander as well as braces and double jaw surgery to bring my upper jaw forward and my lower jaw backward. It’s weird because I know so many people have these procedures but going through, you can’t help but feel alone. I hope you’re process is going well! Hope to see more videos! Thank you again!
Hello maddie, I am having my sarpe tomorrow, my lower jaw and upper jaw looks exactly like yours and i’m on the same journey 🌸 i hope things turn out good for us♥️ good luck
Wonderful to get an update from you Maddie; good to see things have gone so well! I also appreciate how honest you are about the ups and downs of such surgery - this will help others who go through similar surgery in the future to see that any of the nasty bits they experience are nothing to panic about, and that there is light at the end of the tunnel! I wish you all the best in your continued recovery and look forward to your next update!
Very brave of you to have these surgeries and for charting your journey for us. It will all be worth it though for your health. Your breathing and sleep will really improve. Wishing you further healing and looking forward to the next update x
Thank you for creating this video and sharing it with the world. It’s very well done! I just had SARPE 4 days ago. I agree, it’s been uncomfortable but manageable. I think it’s just the mental side of dealing with the many strange sensations and the insane amount of pressure I feel around my jaw that’s been challenging for me! Also quite constant drooling! Lol! Like you said though, keeping a little busy and distracted is helpful. I’m definitely more swollen and bruised than you on day four, but not too bad. One day at a time. I’m excited to see this gap open up! Good luck with the rest of your journey!
Hello i hope you are well can you please post an update if you’ve had jaw surgery yet. I am undecided if i want to get it done but i have an underbite instead.
When were you able to eat soft foods again? I have something up on Day 5 and wondering if I'll be able to eat something and have energy for going out. Thanks for your video! I've watched it 3 times already.
Thank you for posting about your surgery. My son is having SARPE in two weeks time. Where did you hire the face cooling machine from? Is that better than using ice packs?
Did you now feel that you don’t need to swallow constantly because you now have enough space in your upper palate and keep your tongue in the right position ?And did your speech improve drastically now that your mouth is spacious and your tongue is hitting the backs of your teeth properly ?
Did you have to have braces fitted before the operation? How much was your orthodontist involved in the surgery? I'm asking because I want to have sarpe abroad and my ortho is a bit funny about it... Like if he needs to overlook the whole procedure....
Hmm interesting! I have not heard of doing palate expansion during jaw surgery. Normally you need expansion before braces, and you need to get your teeth fixed with braces before you have the surgery so the teeth are all in the right place for the surgery. Palate expansion is also a slow process over many weeks, not something that can be completed inside the surgery... Maybe your palate only needs a tiny bit of expansion?
A lot of people are starting to realise they can aleviate sleep disordered breathing symptoms (Sleep Apnoea, Uars) by palatal expansion as the jaws did not develop how they should of done.
@@carina17153014 yes it's possible, a surgery called segmental LeFort 1 osteomtomy (2 or 3 pieces) .. it's kinda difficult from technical point of view and has some disadvantages like higher relapse rate and limited range of expansion .. but off course it's a one step procedure which is a huge plus
Just to reiterate, if you have breathibg problems through your nose your best of expanding PRIOR to double jaw surgery. Afaik a segmental le fort does expands the palate but not breathing.
Please continue to post about your journey!! You’re a natural on camera and it’s so you’re very informative!

Hi maddie! Would be great to know how are you and your surgery journey? 😊

Have you gotten your double jaw surgery yet?
I’m considering sarpe surgery right now.
Why did you decide to do the procedure? I’m on the fence on doing it.
Hi! Any updates?
How long did it take before you could exercise? I am getting the surgery in 2 weeks.
Hi Maddie - how have things been in the last month or so?
Did you now feel that you don’t need to swallow constantly because you now have enough space in your upper palate and keep your tongue in the right position ?And did your speech improve drastically now that your mouth is spacious and your tongue is hitting the backs of your teeth properly ?
can you give an update?
Update please Maddie

This is an interdisciplinary issue. Usually, the surgeon and the orthodontist work as a team. That's way he is a bit funny about it.
@@ancaas7945 I think they are just not open minded enough.
Any new updates?
Would love an update!
its on her instagram, check the description.
Update!
How much did Sarpe cost?
How are you today??? :)
My oral surgeon said I could get my pallet expanded during double jaw surgery why is it that I see so many people getting sarpe surgery?
