He did have traces of anti-hero vibes here & there. He did seem to care for his friends & family in his own way, killed noncey Mud and got rid of useless uncle Phil.
I loved this storyline. Back when Home and Away was compulsive viewing in our house. They never found Dodge's body when he went off the cliff, so I assumed he'd come back at some stage.
He needs a reason to come back but there isn’t. Steve is no longer around, I’m sure the River Boys could sort him out. As far as I know the people that he would know is Alf, Marilyn & Irene
1989 and 1995 were the best years in H&A purely because Dodge was in it.. best character of all time, wonder what Kelly Dingwall is doing with himself now!?
This was a great storyline. It would be amazing if Dodge was to make a comeback, but I think Alf and Irene would be the only ones that are still in the show that know him. Unless the producers could get Steven to return too, giving us another great storyline.
Yes that would be a fantastic storyline. They never found the body so if Stephen were to come back for some event or reunion then imagine the look on his face if Dodge served him a drink as he went up to the bar or he was the taxi driver bringing Steve back to town...imagine him turning around and saying Where to, Steve O?! They would still have great rivalry after all this time. 😂
It wouldn't make sense as pippa, Sally, carly etc aren't in the show. Why did Steve like him, he tormented Sally? Only Irene, alf and Marilyn would know him, what story line would he have
This was brilliant story writing, right here... If a character such as Kate Peterson were to return in Prisoner back in let's say 1985, this is how they should have had her character, even worse than before.
I hope you upload the other parts too. I can't wait to see them. Dodge was my favourite charecter. And i'm watching your other vids of when Dodge was firt there in 89 and i wanted to say thank you.
It was because he was so funny. He was definitely the template for guys like Gardy in the later years! I reckon if those two teamed up, Summer Bay'd be in BIG trouble!
yes dodge was the real villain along with Irene son Nathan who in 1994 was caretaker or janitor of the school when he stole the school year funds and try to pin it on tug Sarah's old boyfriend.
I remember watching this when he first walks into the house - wasn't sure if it was really Dodge or a different character played by the same/similar actor. Then as soon as Pippa saw him and made that shocked face, BAM, I knew Dodge was back and exciting times were ahead!
It would have been so good if Dodge and Sally met when he returned to the Bay and she got revenge on him for being such a Pratt to her back in the early days with the whole Milco drama.
They didn't have any direct scenes together but she was still in it while he was there. They just didn't interact with each other. I guess Dodge was more focused on Steve. So even though him and Sally didn't get along back in 1989, she wasn't the one who got him locked up. So he probably viewed hassling her as a waste of time and pointless. Plus, hassling her knowing that she's friendly with Selena and Shannon would have risked turning them against him which would turn Irene against him which would have made it harder for him to execute his plans against Steve.
Always heard of dodge, never saw him. Pippa said she had 2 failures, dodge and the girl who tormented sophie, very dodgy and nasty and evil. Michael wasn't annoyed a strange man was in the house and not waiting outside? Pippa, the new Pippa, was scared. Dodge must have come from a messed up family. He seemed twisted
@@tomhiggins6542 maybe so. But he showed zero remorse, so that negates the fact that it was an accident, and it's easy to talk like that when you're not in that situation.
Dodge was a true villain back then. The actor Kelly Dingwall was perfect in the role
Dodge pushed the boundaries as a Summer Bay villain. He just couldn't stick around too long in a soap with a conscience.
He did have traces of anti-hero vibes here & there. He did seem to care for his friends & family in his own way, killed noncey Mud and got rid of useless uncle Phil.
@@tomhiggins6542I wish there was a scene where Dodge killed Mud I think we all would have cheered.

He's a relatively successful stage actor. Yes he was brilliant, balancing both humour and a genuine air of danger.
These were the days.. I couldn’t wait every day for home and away to start! Such a shame the show got so bad

both actresses are real,,,it's the same Pippa character who insisted on fostering Dodge to begin with

This was H&A at its Zenith
1995 was the best year for it. So much drama, but you could still laugh at times. These days it's a bit too serious.
I'd put 88/89 as H&A best yrs and then 95.

dodge said he wouldnt mind seeing Sgt Hale again, but Chris Hale wasnt in it the first time Dodge was around, it was Sgt Barnett.
