Just a few notes: First: If you plan to run around solo, you will need to stick to the areas around the two starter towns in the beginning. The mobs there scale up from level 1. The other town's mobs start around level 9. Second: The Caravan has a small yellow icon that will flag the event as "ignored" and will close the window. This does not flag you for pvp on either side. It is the opt out button. Third: Buy a lumber bag and miner bag from the starter town vender to increase your Material inventory space. They are slot based and not resource based (at least for now). This means that you can put 2 slot flowers or something else in the miner bag slots as they are 2x2. Lumber is 3x1, the rest are 2x1. If you dont plan to chop trees, then buy two miner bags as this give you the most space. Fourth: There are starter weapons of every type along the corridor leading out from the portal (just past the first quest giver). They are free and have no sell value. Pick them up and test them out. You can use two and swap between them. Lastly, Processed materials will sell to vendors for more money then the raw mats used to make them. It takes time though and the station can just passively run while you go a do other things. Making a full stack can take an hour of real time. But it will sell for 2-3 times the value of the raw mats. So gather some things, shove them in a station, and go explore/ level for a while. When you come back, you can pick up you newly made stuff and sell that for more money. Good luck folks.
@@lukeit7949 Correct, i actually didnt fully read @phlux3396 's comment. Currently material bags are slot based AND resource based. I highly recommend buying one of every gathering bag, as you can swap them around with each other as long as you can empty the bag you want to switch, allowing you to adjust and hold the most resources you are trying to gather at any given point. Thanks for pointing that out
My hubby and I have had such a blast the last two weekends! We’re on Lyneth too and we’re excited for the next group of peeps to join. Great tips for newcomers. Will make sure to pass them on to our new guildies. If you’re not having fun you’re doing the game wrong! Yes it’s incomplete, but we literally signed up for that. And to others $120 comments we spent close to $400 each on our packages. But we are proud to be backing a game we’ve been waiting three years for. And the money we spent was so long ago that girl math says it’s now free. 😂🤣
Thank you so much! It’s awesome to hear you two have been having a blast together. I think the social sandbox design is going to complement the game very well. Intrepid has been handling things amazingly with updates and patches too. Since A2 launched, I’ve genuinely not wanted to play any other game lmao 😭😂 money well spent in my eyes lol
Hey man, it’s Kansk. It was a pleasure to grind for hours with you and see all those juicy cleric pieces of gear go to you! That blue book was such a random drop. Seeing you all last weekend in many different spots randomly across on the other side of the Riverlands really made that Old-World style of MMO feel real again. I am sure we will be grinding again real soon this weekend. Might have to try and hit up the Steelbloom POI. Great video by the way. I wish I knew all these when I first booted up for sure.
Kansk my fellow cleric! o7 Thank you for the kind words, the video is a little scuffed from being a one take but it gets the point across lmao. BUT yesssss, seeing each other randomly and recognizing names around the game world, truly made the little WoW kid in me so happy. Steelbloom POI sounds like a good plan to hit before end of this weekend!
100% agree and feel the same. Feeling like i shared the world with everyone on the server and feeling the real time impact of traveling back and forth across the riverlands was very refreshing
Correct theres no like zoning walls that will cut the leash. Typically its distance but some mobs will chase further either due to being elites or a bug lol. Aggro range actually depends on your level to the enemy! Though this is all being tested and may get tweaked through testing
It looks like Intrepid pulled down the auth servers sometime yesterday, so apologies for that. But they are all coming online right now :) Goodluck meep!
So here's a question I would like a genuine answer for. I didn't look at the system requirements before buying and I'm right under them. But I'm still able to play, it's just rough😅 is my input still valid to report? Or did I just waste a spot for someone that can properly test 😅😅😅 I'm currently playing on Castus
Hey man, definitely not a waste of a slot as they needed people to slam servers anyways. But if you don’t have a ton of play time you can email intrepid and the CS team can probably grant you a refund. Then you can take your time upgrading and coming back in in the future or whenever 👍🏻🫡 Your input would still be valid for any bugs found gameplay wise that dont revolve around system specs
@JakeyEX thank you for the reply! I enjoyed the video, but I am having fun playing so I'm happy to continue lol I was just concerned my input wasn't as valuable. I'm here for the long run and I'm happy this alpha will last a bit so I have time to upgrade, plus the game will be getting updates so it might get smoother for me as time passes. Fingers crossed!
100% Do know there is a wipe coming dec 20th for phase 2 but thats not a bad thing. Tons of new stuff should be coming online system wise for that so it will be a fresh experience Glad to hear youre having fun though, its been a blast for us playing as well :)
@JakeyEX Yup! I'm excited to see what gets brought in. Keep the videos up :) I'll be floating around, currently looking for a community to join, but Im forced to be more casual because of work. So I'm taking my time. Once the Dec20th update drops, I'll find out what I wanna be and then try to find the right community.
@@PathofEden Sometimes the launcher DC’s from server and closing and reopening will connect it. wipes could happen if major issues arise but Intrepid has stated the dont want to or plan to wipe. The alpha 2 will run all the way until launch and then become the public test realm once the game goes Live
Good question! Currently the tropics and the desert nodes are not fully functioning. So while the areas do exist, i dont believe the camps can level up and become a village or town. The mobs in these areas are also really high level. The world is so much more massive than you might realize, most players havent even thought of venturing out to either of these corners of the map at this time That being said im very excited to see these zones for the first time myself sometime soon, maybe run a resource route through the areas just to scout it out etc
100% don't come into the A2 thinking others are judging or paying attention to your performance. Everyone is still learning their classes and testing things, and there's no DPS meters or anything like that. I highly recommend just putting yourself out there, joining one of the many guilds on discord or even in game on your server. Join parties locally in game or through the global chat, and just assume everyone else is also having that "kid in a candyshop" experience as well :) I led a few groups of 8 players and also joined some random groups to grind mobs for xp and gear drops, and everyone was pretty open to trying out new areas, heading back into areas we just wiped from, and I never had an instance of players bickering at each other other than rolling on loot that another class was more suited for lol. Play it cool and nobody will think anything different, they're probably learning their character / role as well. If you're new to tanking or healing maybe just say that early on if grouping up to grind at a named location or use public events to practice your role with less intense group combat! Hope this helps :)
holy crud auto attack i am glad that i didnt invest this is not worth the wait so far man. Though mmo's have moved pasted such dated tech. the devs might want to go look at DDO for a good example of active and tab targeting that requires thought not a stopwatch
Umm you're not paying for an unfinished product, you're paying to help test and provide feedback to help them make the best game possible, if you don't want to pay for alpha testing,.don't. simple as that
Suggestion for actual players for the MMO launching in 5+ years. Don't spend $120 dollars to "test" a very incomplete game. Spend your time doing other things and save your money. Don't follow these copium white knights suggesting to play now
Some people want to test, if you don't, then don't. However I've heard from many people who say even though it's a long way from launching, they're having a blast.
brother, nobody is suggesting anyone play NOW lol. This video is for those that have made the decision they will be playing and want some advice heading into their first day. Pointless to sit here and preach about how people should spend their money. Many of us who are testing are very aware of the state of the game and have happily given money to support the project. Playing the game is just a bonus that comes with supporting the project. I haven't had this much fun in an MMO since classic wow and this has so much more potential.
Tab target definitely feels more polished right now, but i love the responsiveness of ability presses, and how free i am to move my character around at all times. Including dodge rolling in my combos as a cleric is helpful. I have not tested blocking much since im most healing and ranged spellcasting at this time. Some classes definitely feel better in tab mode and others def feel better in action mode though so i agree in that sense that they have some ways to go still
